My Very Gay Message to Rick Perry
I've been taking a little heat recently, from some of my gay friends, for not having written anything about Rick Perry's grotesque little video.
But as I explain to those fools, if I wrote a post every time some Christianist bigot in Amerika opened and closed his or her filthy pie hole, I'd never have the time to write about anything else. Or fetch the beer.
Besides what more could I say eh? When his video is already one of the most disliked videos in YouTube history.
There are more parodies than you can count...
Some better than...um...others.

Rick Perry, Stephen Harper, and the Alpha Flight
I knew when fascism came to America it would be wrapped in the Confederate flag, and carrying a cross AND a gun, like the Republican candidate for President Rick Perry.
But who knew it would look so sinister, and sound so ghastly...
On his live blog of last night's debate Andrew Sullivan wrote this:
9.48 pm. A spontaneous round of applause for executing people! And Perry shows no remorse, not even a tiny smidgen of reflection, especially when we know for certain that he signed the death warrant for an innocent man. Here's why I find it impossible to be a Republican: any crowd that instantly cheers the execution of 234 individuals is a crowd I want to flee, not join. This is the crowd that believes in torture and executions. Can you imagine the torture that Perry would authorize?
And on his blog E.D. Kain went further.
I submit to you that this moment is perhaps the most telling since George W. Bush left office; that the modern Republican party is not only intellectually bankrupt, but morally bankrupt as well. The conservative movement and the Fox News and talk radio media empire it has built up around itself is not only ethically decrepit but morally atrophid.
It takes balls to execute an innocent man alright. It takes something anyways. And it takes the same sort of thing to applaud.
USA! USA! USA!
But all I could think of is that Rick Perry could one day be the President of the United States.
You know this guy...
And how Rick Perry and Stephen Harper agree on just about EVERYTHING.
They are both tools of Big Oil, and against regulations and taxes. They both hate medicare and welfare, they both love guns and the death penalty, and they both say they only care about the judgement of their God.
So all I can conclude is that America is in terrible danger, but so are we.
Oh yeah...one more thing...don't count on the Canadian heroes from Alpha Flight to save us...
Because as you can see they have their own problems eh?
So far the series has showed how new Prime Minister Gary Cody and the members of his Unity Party have exploited the chaos of the current "Fear Itself" event to turn Canada into a draconian police state. Most of Alpha Flight have been declared outlaws. Now, to save their country, they must fight against it.
So we are going to have to save ourselves.
And the scariest part? Those comic book writers have a better idea of where we are going than the purring Con klowns in the MSM.
It's getting close to last call time people. Organize, unite, stop those cowboy fascists.
Before they destroy us all...

Porky Tales: Rick Perry and the Bankers
Welcome to another edition of Porky Tales, where greed meets despair, and the Sopranos meet the bankers.
And where tonight we juxtapose how the Bank of America treated an elderly couple in Florida.
Seventy-year-old Sharon Bullington may lose her home because she paid her mortgage a week early.
That may not make much sense to the thousands of homeowners who are behind on their mortgages in Florida. But it seems it does to Bank of America, which has filed to foreclose on Bullington and her husband, James, 78, who is terminally ill.
With how they are apparently preparing to grease the wheels of the Republican candidate for President, and right-wing extremist, Rick Perry.
By having some shady looking operative sidle up to him at a meeting in New Hampshire, and whisper in his ear: "I'm from Bank of America and we'll help you out"
Only to have the offer caught on video....
Needless to say, the bank tried to deny it was doing the porky with Perry, but failed hilariously.
And the larger question remains: How could a corporate institution like the Bank of America back a Christianist fanatic with such wacky right-wing views?
And the answer is obvious. They like some of them a lot:
All Bank Regulation Is Unconstitutional: Criticizing the Security and Exchange Commission’s rulemaking process under the Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill, Perry asserts that “if the Constitution were shown the appropriate respect, Washington regulation writers wouldn’t have to worry about underrepresented views, because they wouldn’t have control over them in the first place”
Because like Rick Perry, and Stephen Harper, and so many Con porkers, they HATE Big Government. Except when they get $45 billion in government bailout money, like the Bank of America did a few years ago.
Or when, like the Harper Cons, they get to spend billions of tax dollars buying themselves an election. Tony Clement where are you?
Because it's never about what's good for ordinary people, or human society, only what's good for THEM.
Which at the end of the day leaves me wondering what happened to that poor couple in Florida?
And how anyone, anywhere, can still seriously believe the system isn't BROKEN...

Rick Perry and the United States of Jebeesus
Glory Hallybubbah !!! The Lord has spoken. Just as I prophesied the other day, he has directed his cowboy servant Rick Perry to become God's President. And kick the heathen negro out of the White House.
And all Canadians need to know about him is that he's a religious fanatic, who can't decide whether he wants to be Dubya, Ronald Reagan, or Charlton Heston playing Moses.
That his views are so right-wing extremist.
[PERRY:] I don’t think our founding fathers when they were putting the term “general welfare” in there were thinking about a federally operated program of pensions nor a federally operated program of health care. What they clearly said was that those were issues that the states need to address. Not the federal government. I stand very clear on that. From my perspective, the states could substantially better operate those programs if that’s what those states decided to do.
Only Stephen Harper could love them.
And that his good friend Mike Bickle wants to be his Secretary of Defence, so that he can declare war on atheists, gay people, and his own personal demons...
That's Mike Bickle from the International House of Prayer.
You know.... the group that is presently embroiled in a nasty legal dispute with the International House of Pancakes.
The good news? By making his announcement yesterday, Perry managed to overshadow the straw poll victory of his fellow Christianist wingnut Michele Bachmann.
Not that she minded eh?
Because her win drove Tim Pawlenty, one of the most moderate of the homophobic Republican candidates, out of the race.
And crowned old Crazy Eyes the Queen of the Teabaggers.
Of course, the terrifying part is that should either Bachmann or Perry win the Presidency, we'll be living next to a crazed, heavily armed theocracy... the United States of Jebeesus.
Which would no doubt send our Con theocrats over the deep end. Stephen Harper would probably grow a bushy beard, and demand that he be known as Great Prophet Leader. And Jason Kenney would demand that he be addressed as the Virgin Kenney. As if that wasn't OBVIOUS.
Great eh?
Who needs scary demons? When we got our Christianist Cons.
And we got scary Amerika...

Rick Perry and the Day of Hate and Pancakes
Holy prayerpalooza Batman !!! I see that brother Rick Perry, the Governator of Texas, did gather his flock around him and pray for the salvation of these United States.
Father, our heart breaks for America. We see discord at home. We see fear in the marketplace. We see anger in the halls of government, and as a nation we have forgotten who made us, who protects us, who blesses us and for that we cry out for your forgiveness.”
And no doubt for his slim chances of becoming God's bubbah in the White House. After they kick the black Mooslim out. Or lynch him.
While his screeching wingnuts raised their arms to the sky, and prayed for the destruction of their many enemies. Especially the wicked women of the world, all other false religions, and of course, Satan's little gay helpers...
But then why should we be surprised eh? With this hellish line-up of religious extremists and bigots.
Homosexuality is kind of Engle's core issue: He helped organize a huge rally in support of California's Proposition 8, which affirmed that marriage was between one man and one woman. He called gay marriage "a sexual insanity" that would "release a spirit" in California "more demonic than Islam."
Most recently, Engle has been in the hot seat again for saying that the Joplin, Missouri tornado was the beginning of "God's redemptive judgment" against abortion.
Gawd. I mean Jebeebebus. The good news? The stadium was half empty. And it might have been billed as a Day of Prayer and Fasting.
But the fasting part was optional.
Just as well eh?
Because can you IMAGINE what might have happened if it wasn't? In Amerika? Praise the Lord, and pass the cheeseburgers !!!!!
And my absolutely fave part? The wingnuts from the International House of Prayer (IHOP) are apparently embroiled in an ugly legal dispute with The International House of Pancakes.
(In case you're wondering, yes, the International House of Pancakes did sue IHOP-KC for trademark dilution and infringement last September. The case was settled out of court in December. Correction: The trademark infringement lawsuit filed in California has been dropped; a new suit against International House of Prayer was filed in the U.S. District Court in Western Missouri and is ongoing.)
Because somehow that seems so fitting.
You know...people keep telling me that America isn't collapsing under the weight of bad economics and crazy religion.
But holy moley Monkey God.
I don't believe them...
