It's been really quiet in my neighbourhood recently. Most of the tourists have gone, the fairs are over, and most of the party boats will soon be moving to their winter berths.
Which is just as well, since I badly need some quiet time to recover from this hellish election campaign.
Which thanks to the Ugly American Andrew Scheer and his foul RepubliCons has been the filthiest and most un-Canadian campaign I have ever witnessed.
But as I crawl towards the finish line, it's a big consolation to see that Scheer is in worse shape than I am.
Ever since the Cons made Andrew Scheer their leader, I have hated him for the same reasons I hate most of them.
I hate his religious fanaticism, his misogyny, his racism, his homophobia, his climate change denial.
But what I also hate about Scheer, is the ugly, cowardly, and very un-Canadian way he has attacked Justin Trudeau.
With a never-ending barrage of vile Republican-style attack ads, that have debased our entire political system.
And stunts like this one.
Ever since Andrew Scheer and his ex-Rebel campaign manager Hamish Marshall set out to destroy Justin Trudeau, they have been pumping out a steady stream of the most disgusting attack ads this country has ever seen.
Depraved yellow and red tinted political pornography that demonizes Trudeau over and over again.
And has some of the yellow vested members of their base in such a fevered frenzy, they are calling him a traitor and demanding that he be executed.
Ever since he became leader of the Cons, Andrew Scheer has called Justin Trudeau all kinds of ugly names.
Criminal gang member supporter, coward, terrorist sympathizer, you name it.
But now, believe it or not, Scheer aka Schmear, has outdone himself.
And come up with an even uglier name to call Trudeau.
