Justin Trudeau And The War On COVID -19

He has had to weather one crisis after another. His wife is sick with Covid-19, and he must take care of their children alone, while under self-isolation.

But from that little office he is still governing this country.

Still communicating with other world leaders.

Still taking the tough decisions that need to be taken in these plague times.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a series of extreme new measures Friday to protect Canadians from COVID-19, including a strategy to help manufacturers rapidly ramp up production of medical supplies and a plan to bar asylum seekers from crossing the Canada-U.S. border.

While also finding time to reassure frightened Canadians, and encouraging other members of his stellar team to do the same.
So outstanding is Trudeau's performance that even some of his worst enemies in the Con media are impressed.

Justin Trudeau is growing up before our eyes.

Watching his almost-daily availability from self-isolation is to see a prime minister enduring and embracing a leadership challenge unlike anything his predecessors have faced in peacetime for almost a hundred years.

Unfortunately though, even a pandemic can't stop the grubby Cons from acting like Cons or Ugly Americans.

For this is from Canada Proud, the anti-Trudeau hate mongers...

This from Erin O'Toole who just happens to employ the founder of Canada Proud as his communications director...

As is only too obvious.

And then there's this from Peter MacKay...

Who clearly doesn't believe that stirring up a little racism and xenophobia in the middle of a pandemic is the last thing we need. But then that's why they call him Dumbo eh?

And this is the image I can't get out of my mind...

Andrew Scheer the day before parliament adjourned, grinning like an ape while the government tried to explain how it's planning to fight a deadly pandemic.

No doubt believing that the pandemic would destroy Justin Trudeau.

And all I can say, is good luck with that one....

This plague time has given Trudeau a chance to show his leadership qualities, and so far at least he is doing a really good job.

As a prime minister and as a father.

With Sophie Grégoire Trudeau still obeying orders to keep distance from her family for at least another week, it’s left to Trudeau to put out the meals they have delivered to the house, set the table and make sure the kids are bathed and put to bed. According to Chin, Trudeau arrived unusually late for one of the big conference calls with ministers at 8 p.m. one night because he was late getting Hadrien out of the bathtub.

While the Cons are looking grubbier and smaller than ever.

Looking like losers.

And never more irrelevant...

Sadly, Justin has had to close the border even to asylum-seekers, but that's because Trump has turned the U.S. into a radioactive Petri dish. I can't imagine what he must be going through, having to manage running a country in once-in-a-century crisis mode and temporary single-parenthood while his wife recovers from an illness. For that he deserves a lot more credit than he's been getting, especially from the likes of salacious scandal-mongerers like Fife and the vile trolls who wish death upon Sophie and the entire family. If Pierre was alive, he would be proud of his son, and I have no doubt Justin's kids will be of their dad too. May he forever be blessed and lead Canada for a very long time, for he is truly the leader they need, especially in such close proximity to America's disease-vector in chief. God Save Justin Trudeau.

Not a day goes by that I don't give thanks that Justin Trudeau won the last election. Can you imagine what it would be like if Andrew Scheer was prime minister. It would make Orwell's 1984 look like a fairy tale.

I totally AGREE!

Strangely enough, I am even getting a little bit of respect for Doug Ford. I will probably lose it again when the crisis abates, but he seems to be showing some leadership and a willingness to listen to his experts. I am still in shock.

How nice that the three Con assholes, Dumbo, Schmear and Cueball are reminding us that even in these unprecedented times they are still capable of displaying to us that they are nothing more than bottom-feeding scum that will never be worthy of running this great country.

Meanwhile, Stephen Herpes is back like a disease that won't go away, "helping" his surrogate failson in Alberta while no doubt sticking pins in Justin and Sophie voodoo dolls. I have an idea, when that plane comes back from Casablanca to repatriate Canadians back home, why not load Scumbag Steve and the rest of his con plague vectors on the return trip, then abandon them in the middle of nowhere at Rick's IDU Café. "Here's looking at you, skidmark."

Hi Jackie....Justin Trudeau has been doing an amazing job, and I have no doubt that if his father was still alive he would be very proud of him. I think most Canadians are also giving him credit, so It doesn't really matter what Fife has to say. I think Justin will eventually be recognized as one of Canada's greatest leaders, and Fife and the Con trolls will be seen to be very small people....

Hi anon....I am also thankful that Trudeau not Scheer is governing this country, for I also agree that a Con government at this time would be an absolute nightmare. They are too cruel and too evil to unite Canadians in a challenge that will test this country like it has rarely been tested before...

Hi jrkrideau.... I too have been impressed by Doug Ford's behaviour. It's only what I would expect from any premier, but coming from Ford it's something to celebrate. It would be nice if we could take the destructive partisanship out of our politics, but as long as the Harper Party is still around that won't happen...

Hi JD....Yes, I see it as a positive thing. The Cons are reminding people that they will always put their crass political interests before the interests of Canadians. They were always a lousy gang, but now they have hit rock bottom....

hi Jackie....The idea of Harper helping Kenney to save anything evokes images in my mind of an evil version of Laurel and Hardy. But I don't want to see them at Rick's Cafe, since I hope to visit it someday myself. Instead may I humbly suggest that the Con gang be dumped in the middle of the Sahara Desert....

Hi Marmalade....well that makes two of us....and about 20 million others....😉

THe National Discrase has a Herr Harper story. I think David Bowie said it much better than I can.

Pushing through the market square,
So many mothers sighing
News had just come over,
We had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us,
Earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet,
Then I knew he was not lying
I heard telephones, opera house, favorite melodies
I saw boys, toys, electric irons and T.V.'s
My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things to store everything in there
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought I'd need so many people
A girl my age went off her head,
Hit some tiny children
If the black hadn't a-pulled her off,
I think she would have killed them
A soldier with a broken arm,
Fixed his stare to the wheels of a Cadillac
A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest,
And a queer threw up at the sight of that
I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlor,
Drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine,
Don't think you knew you were in this song
And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to walk
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, what a surprise
Five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, what a surprise
Five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
Five years
Five years
Five years
Five years

That is also true of François Legault. And he has been working with all the opposition parties - he has accepted many ideas from Québec solidaire, and looked to Liberal MNAs from ridings with ethnic and religious communities (especially ultraorthodox Jews, and Muslims, but also Asian people) with few or no MNAs in the CAQ.

There have been some horrible anti-Chinese and generally anti-Asian bigoted acts here, targeting Vietnamese and Korean as well as Chinese Quebecers. They smashed Buddhas and symbolic lions outside a temple very close to my house, as well as other community and religious centres.

People have lots of ways of coping. Some seek inspiration for the elders.

This is how I came to think about a famous Jim Morrison quote that seems much more prescient than a Dean Kootz novel or any other lucky guesses.

“I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames”

Never to late to get one more kick in.

Been around the world 4 times. A milllion miilon flyer on three airlines. Talked to everyone once. Seen two whales fuck, been to three world end of the world raves. And I even know a man in Thailand with a wooden cock. I pushed more peeter, more sweeter and more completer than any other peter pusher around. I'm a hard bodied, hairy chested, rootin' tootin' shootin', parachutin' demolition double cap crimpin' frogman. There ain't nothin' I can't do. No sky too high, no sea too rough, no muff too tough. Been a lot of lessons in my life. Never shoot a large caliber man with a small caliber bullet. Drove all kinds of trucks. 2by's, 4by's , 6by's and those big mother fuckers that bend and go 'Shhh Shhh' when you step on the brakes. Anything in life worth doing is worth overdoing. Moderation is for cowards. I'm a lover, I'm a fighter, I'm a native Haliburturon Highllder.. I'll wine, dine, intertwine, and sneak out the back door when the deal is done. I have lived for action and now I am just dreaming of some leadership in a world of shit. In 1977 this was a world of science fiction but today its reality, and we are responsible. I will die happy but regret I could not prevent the 7th collapse.

I used to think this was fun and okay
but now that we are dying
without conflict
I wonder why
we spent so
much time on pie
in the sky and not
enough on the crown
that has done
what no Caesar
could image
it has wounded the world
and we are all just
waiting to see if its
just wound
or a kill shot

When mother nature lays her cards on the table even Scheer knows its time to dispense with the alternative reality BS and get real. Scheer "There really isn't much philosophical difference when it comes to fighting a virus or keeping Canadians healthy and safe,". What he omits is all of the valuable time his divisive propaganda squanders before the next hand is laid down. Nature's game is fair to the extent that the next hand is likely related to one of the 4 horsemen, pestilence (viruses or climate), war (nuclear), famine (climate/nuclear winter), and resulting deaths but nowhere will you find a Con action plan to address any of these. Nope its all about divisive emotional propaganda and the destruction of our institutions rather than pushing to make them better. Its not specifically the Con's fault that promising anti viral drugs were put on hold after the Sars outbreak subsided or that we are now engaged in nuclear proliferation with smaller more "convienent" weapons, etc but the volume and level of distractive noise between poker hands is going to end very badly.

Hopefully that bad-faith trial balloon that Pee Wee Poilievre and his band of tinfoil ratfuckers leaked to the hair-on-fire media will soon be forgotten about once the money starts flowing. The way I see it is that Trudeau is playing Art of the Deal better than Trump ever could: negotiate down from an unrealistic high point. Regardless, the daily messaging involving the Covid team and the Rideau Cottage pressers seems to be working, and a Just Watch Me moment is coming soon, due to selfish idiots who won't comply with the honor system. Except for the unreality world in Wexitstan, people seem to like Justin the stern father threatening to turn the car around, possibly due to nostalgia for Papa. Meanwhile, for the younger set, seeing him push the #PlankTheCurve online campaign with Canadian celebrities is sure to have an effect. Literally no one wants an election right now except for Potato Pete, but for the moment at least, Ekos, Nanos and Mainstreet have the Liberals well in majority territory and Frank even has the Cons at an abysmal nadir of 28%. Hopefully Canadians are noticing what an absolute catastrophic shitshow Trump's criminal mismanagement of the crisis has been, determined that elections can have deadly consequences, and concluded that the party of Trump North is nothing but a poison pill.

I'm hearing Trump purposely hid the truth about the virus for weeks so he and his cronies could manipulate their stocks to their advantage before the shit hit the fan. That would be pretty hard to hide from the SEC I would think so hopefully when the dust settles, the ten year old autistic president will have a lot to answer for.

Nature's survival of the fittest casino just loves high rollers. Trump is edging ahead of Kim to win the coveted 2020 Darwin Award. "America, will again, and soon, be open for business," President Donald Trump said Monday.

Scott Reid (aka Canada's Rand Paul) is a piece of shit.

That's it. That's the tweet.

It should come as no surprise that Justin Trudeau has shown strength and leadership during these trying times. It is not the first time either.

https://ottlib.blogspot.com/2018/06/justin-trudeau-shows-leadership-and.html

Let's remember who his father was. If anybody believes Trudeau-the-Senior did not teach his eldest son what it takes to govern they are mistaken.
