The Buju Bigot Finally Bites the Dust

I have to admit I was disappointed when this homophobic thug, Buju Banton aka Mark Myrie, won a Grammy last week. But now I'm feeling a lot  better.

Jamaican reggae star and Grammy winner Buju Banton was found guilty on federal drug charges on Tuesday and could face 15 years to life in prison.

I don't usually celebrate a victory of the DEA over anyone eh? I think the Great War on Drugs is bullshit.

But a guy who made his name singing about how gay people should have acid poured on them. Or how they should be shot in the head:

(Boom boom boom) Boom bye bye Inna batty boy head.
Rude bwoy no promote the nasty man
Dem haffi dead
Boom bye bye....

Or burned alive:

Dis is not a deal
Guy come near we
Then his skin must peel
Burn him up bad like an old tire wheel

A guy who was accused of taking part in a cowardly attack on a group of gay men that cost one of them his eye.

But was still let into Canada by our homophobic Cons.

Deserves what he gets.

You know what they say eh? An eye for an eye.

Or at least that's what his Christianist fans, in Jamaica believe.

When they are not blaming gays for what happened to their bigot idol.

Buju is being villified because he dare to speak out and sing against homosexuality which angered the powerful lesbian and 'gay' lobby which resides in north american and western european countries.

Homosexual groups ask for tolerance for their objectionable and deviant behaviour, yet they don't show such tolerance to persons who are against the homosexual lifestyle and speak out against it.

As if the DEA has a soft spot for gay people. And the Buju bigot wasn't caught on video licking coke off a knife.

Right. You know if it was up to me, I would have given him five more years for impersonating a Rastaman. Because I LOVE reggae music.

Now how did that murder song go ?

Yup. The way I see it justice finally caught up with a CRIMINAL.

Boom boom batty boy.

Bye bye Buju...

Welcome to the Straight Pride Parade

No Gay Pride parade season would be complete without some mouthbreathing homophobe plucking its feathers out and screeching "Why do THEY have one when WE don't have a Straight Pride parade?" Waaaaaah !!!!!!!

Well guess what? Now they got one.

And don't you just LOVE what the "new reggae/dancehall sensation" Jango Fresh has to say?

The Straight pride parade is a great idea because when a song like "Hit them hard" by my label mate Stapler can be banned just because it stresses the importance of a male and a female in every family, it is a sign that heterosexuals need to wake up.

The Straight Pride Parade is a chance for Heterosexuals to gather together and proudly embrace their sexuality.

Hmmm..... I thought they already did. Every day of the year.

But then until I read that story .... and I love reggae music..... I'd never heard of Jango Fresh.

Jango Mango YES...

But Jango Fresh NEVAH. Was it a fruit or a vegetable I wondered. A greased cucumber....or a nasty little hot pepper ?

And now that I have heard about him for all the wrong reasons, I'm wondering what Straight Pride songs he will...um... sing?

Fat Pussy, Gun Goes Off, or How to Rob a Bank?

I'm hoping for Bad as Me. Because after listening to his shitty songs I gotta say that even the cat in heat at the end of the street sings better than Jango does.

But what do you expect from these pathetic homophobes? The campaign against Murder Music is a fantastic success.

These bigots thought they could get away with calling for gay people to be hacked or shot or burned to death. Now some have surrendered. And the others are DESPERATE. They're running out of concert halls. They're running out of BLING. The poor bumbaclaats. What a sad TING.

On the other hand... there is ONE thing about this Straight Pride Parade that really excites me. Apart from the rumoured appearances of the Jesse Helms Quartet from Hell, and The Flagellators ... the Mullah band from Saudi Arabia.

And that is the thought that surely....if there is ANY justice.... the Grand Marshalls of this Procession of Losers will just HAVE to be....

Wait for it....

The homophobe Zombies of Jamaica !!!

Wow. Wouldn't that be something? The best float EVAH.

You know if that happens....and it doesn't rain or hail on the parade. Which I am fervently praying for.... and for which I'm prepared to sacrifice to the Weather God an entire BBQ chicken.

I can only hope my gay brothers in Brooklyn remember the poor gay people of Jamaica.

Fill their supersoakers with ice cold water ....or liquid manure.

And show their appreciation...

Lucky Dube: Death of a Reggae Hero

When the call came in from London early this morning I couldn't believe it. And then when I did I was so sad and so angry. Some miserable criminal bastards had murdered Lucky Dube

How COULD they?

Even more than the great Bob Marley, Lucky Dube (Doo-Bay) was my greatest reggae hero. I loved his songs from the first time I heard them. And when I finally had a chance to go to one of his concerts it was MAGICAL.

Lucky, his band, the backup singers and the Zulu dancers were absolutely fantastic. I got really close to the stage and tried.... as best as a klutzy white boy could.... to dance like them. Lucky looked down at me and smiled. It was the BEST reggae show I ever went to.

Lucky had so many great songs...from his anti-apartheid anthems like Prisoner, Slave, and House of Exile...to other more spiritual and joyful ones like Jah Live, Feel Irie, Reggae Strong. And so many others.

Unfortunately there aren't that many videos to choose from. But because he stood for resistance, freedom, love and a better world for EVERYONE....and his story was South Africa's story too.

I thought I'd play this one first...

You know...if my greatest living hero Nelson Mandela is the freedom heart of South Africa...for me Lucky Dube was its freedom singing voice.

The people of that beautiful country overcame the horror of Apartheid. Now they must deal with its ugly scars and stop killing each other.

Lucky, a soft spoken gentle man who never uttered a hateful word, tried to speak out against that crazy violence. But in the end it consumed him.

The only thing that consoles me now is that I KNOW that he will always be remembered... and his music will never die. Because he was a good man and a great artist.

And because you can kill the man, but you can't kill his music.

Like this song called Remember Me...

Oh brother. We WILL remember,

You and your beautiful freedom music WILL live forever.

But tonight I'm just so sad...
