Another Good Reason to Hate Bullies

As you know I hate bullies. Especially those who bully young people and seniors.

That's why I started blogging.

But I rarely have the opportunity to express how much I detest people who bully and torture animals.

Like this poor dog in BC...

I can't believe people could treat a sweet humble creature in such a cruel manner. It makes me so sad and angry.

But what really horrifies me, as it does in so many cases of human bullying, is that other people must have seen what was happening, but did nothing to stop it.

Oh well. Another good reason to hate bullies.

Another good reason to keep this sign on my blog.

Another good reason, as if I needed one eh?

To hug my old dog...

Sébastien says he doesn't know how lucky he is.

But when I think of that poor dog who only found love at the end of its life.

I know he does...

The Sad Story of Liam and Theo

This story has everything needed to move me to tears.

The neverending tragedy of Afghanistan. Liam, a young Scottish soldier from Kirkaldy, a town I know well. His faithful dog Theo.

How they came home together...

And even a canine honour guard.

Can dogs die of a broken heart?

Of course they can.

That's why they break our hearts when they die.

Dogs. What would we do without them?

Afghanistan. Why are we still there?

Of Beagles and Freedom

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love freedom. Because I have the word tattooed over my heart.

Right next to the word Sébastien.

And EVERYONE who reads this blog knows that I love dogs.

So when you mix the two in one story, I just can't resist...

I believe that people who cage and torture animals should be caged themselves.

But isn't freedom wonderful?

Aren't dogs amazing?

And don't they go well together?

Are You Ready for a Nuclear Attack?

I'm not either eh? But for some reason the Obama  administration seems to think we should be. And so does the New York Times.

The advice is based on recent scientific analyses showing that a nuclear attack is much more survivable if you immediately shield yourself from the lethal radiation that follows a blast, a simple tactic seen as saving hundreds of thousands of lives. Even staying in a car, the studies show, would reduce casualties by more than 50 percent; hunkering down in a basement would be better by far.

Hmmmmm.... that seems to make sense. And if I'm in a car that shouldn't be too hard to remember.

Just assume the same position my friend Angus does...

When I'm driving.

But what really bothers me is what comes NEXT? How do we survive in a post-apocalyptic world?

Luckily, the Australians have just  dug up an old film made in the 80s.

And it's packed with useful tips...

Hmmmmm... you know after reading the NYT's story and watching that video something else bothers me. Do you think the terrorists will give us enough time to park our cars?

And you don't think somebody is trying to scare us eh? Into say supporting the Great War on Terror.

Oh well. Now for something really SCARY.

If you see this dog. Cover your face.

And run for your LIFE !!!!!!!

Gawd. And to think I thought a Harper majority was the worst thing that could happen to us

We live in dangerous times...

The Blind Man and the Gay Dog

As you know I love dogs almost as much as I hate bigots. So I found this story particularly disturbing.

An Australian restaurant that refused a blind man entry because a waiter thought his seeing-eye dog was "gay" has been ordered to apologize and pay compensation.

The restaurant's owners said a misunderstanding had arisen between Jolly's female companion and a waiter who understood the woman "to be saying she wanted to bring a gay dog into the restaurant"

And our dog was even more upset...

Because although he's a little flamboyant, he's as straight as a bone eh?

So I had to tell him we love him anyway.

Seriously though...can you believe that story? And the world we're forced to live in.

Homophobia...is it prejudice or is it MADNESS?

And when will it go away...

The Pitbull, the Puppy, and the Cockatoo

Whenever I go for a walk with my dog I'm always afraid that I'm going to bump into the neighbourhood's white trash redneck rockpig. Holding on ...with both hands.... to his scary vicious pitbull.

That is always foaming at the mouth, snarling and lunging and choking itself with its spiked collar .... trying to get at my old gentle lab. Who just ignores him and keeps plodding along.

It's horrible. I'm always afraid the pitbull is going to break free, and turn Kerouac into a bloody meatball right in front of me.

Which would probably drive me to stab or bite the Hound from Hell to death, and then kill the redneck rockpig by strangling him with his mullet.

Only to have to spend the next twenty five years behind bars.... mourning Kerouac....vowing MORE revenge when I get out.....being gang raped in the showers....while being forced to survive on the à la carte pen cuisine of Kraft dinner.... and MEATBALLS.

Which would be PAINFULLY humiliating as well as heartbreaking.

So I'm glad that the breed is now banned in the province.

But what I can't understand is why this pitbull has to die.

It doesn't seem right. It seems cruel and wrong.

It wasn't his fault that he was born a pitbull. Or given a name like Rambo. And he's never done anything except hop a fence.

Why cage him and kill him? Wouldn't it be simpler and more effective to go after the mouthbreathing idiots who keep on breeding and selling these poor doomed animals?

Hitting them with huge fines, or caging THEM in prisons. So they can live on meatballs. Instead of chips and beer. And of course service every con in the pen.

It's seems only fitting.

Yeah right Simon. Like that's really going to happen. In your dreams. What's next?

A dog being bullied by a BIRD?

Well now that you mention it....

That shameless feathered hussy. That poor little puppy.

Where's a pit bull when you NEED one?

Somebody PLEASE save Rambo.

Doggos.

What would we do without them?

BTW. In case you hadn't noticed...ahem...blogging may be LIGHTER than usual. For this OBVIOUS reason.

OMG.I can't fucking BELIEVE it. Les Glorieux are back.

Woohoo!!!!!! Who needs pitbulls?

When we got the Habs!!!!!
