Winsor ran into a friend a few minutes after the slushie attack who’d been targeted with ice and been called ‘faggot.’

Would you:

(1) Lick the slushie off your clothes and face, and thank your attackers for making you feel famous?

(2) Apologize for ruining a perfectly good slushie, and offer to buy them another?

(3) Or kick them in the head, until they choke in their own sweetness?

Me too eh? The faggot word is a murderous one.

Was Chris Skinner Killed Because he was Gay?

I don't know what happened at this dark intersection in Toronto's so-called entertainment district early Sunday morning.

What I do know is that all my friends believe that Chris Skinner was assaulted and then brutally murdered because he was gay.

Even if the police don't.

Gallant said the notion the assault was related to Skinner's sexuality is "pure speculation."

"We don't have anything pointing to that at this time," he said. "There is no evidence of it."

Which at least one of Chris Skinner's friends finds troubling.

"Either they know more than they are saying and they are just trying to dampen down speculation, or they are just being wilfully blind to the fact that gays and lesbians suffer violence on our downtown streets on a regular basis."

Fights happen, but "the fact is they actually left him on the street and then drove over him," he said. "To actually get into an SUV and deliberately run somebody open, to extinguish their life, that has no justification."

As I said before I don't know what to think.The entertainment district is full of disgusting belligerent drunks. I've been involved in about five or six fights there, since I arrived in this city a few years ago. So I suppose ANYTHING could have happened.

But you have to wonder how a group of people could hate a stranger so much that they would beat him unconscious and then run him over with a SUV. Because it sounds so familiar.

What I do know is that anti-gay violence is growing in this country. Not enough is being done to fight homophobia.

Justice is a joke.

And we're not just fighting for our human rights.

We're fighting for our LIVES...

When Gays Bash Back: Part Two

The other day I wrote a post on whether the bullied should bash the bullies. And because I felt my old anger management counselor, my karate instructor, my boyfriend and my Mum were looking over my shoulder as I wrote it, it came out rather badly.

Some of my friends and readers suggested it sounded like I didn't believe gay people should learn to defend themselves. When all I was saying was they shouldn't have to, because it was up to society to protect them. And that we shouldn't pick fights even if we can win them.

But as for defending ourselves.....by bashing the bigots who would kill us ....I'm all for it.

Although, I have to say that even if I was still sixteen and angry, I wouldn't be joining this gay gang.




















Not because I have anything against anarchists....they do hold the best parties in Montreal. I just don't agree with their tactics. I find them juvenile and counterproductive.

But then they are young, juvenile goes with the territory, and I sure like their ATTITUDE.

"We're not trying to change people's minds, we're not trying to bend straight people to give us freedom—we're fighting back," says Milwaukee member Tristyn Trailer-Trash. "We're going to stop them from preaching hate, stop them from creating an environment that's unfriendly to gay, queer, and trans people. We're not going to be nice about it—they're not being nice about it!"

Because she's right about one thing...our enemies aren't nice. Just look what they did to poor Eudy Simelane.















The top striker, who was gay, was set upon by a gang of thugs, gang-raped and stabbed 25 times. Her sexuality and supposedly butch looks were a death sentence in a country in which the sport is still considered a man’s game by many.

So if what these kids are really saying is that they will never allow those violent homophobes to do to them what they have done to so many.

Or will never be silent while so many are hurt or killed. Or won't be told what women can or cannot do.

And that if gays are bashed they WILL bash back.

Then forget about the baseball bat. But gimme a pink bandanna !!!!!!
