Donald Trump and the Cabinet from Hell
Some people believe that Donald Trump tweets compulsively just to confuse and distract his enemies.
But I don't. I think he just can't help himself...
Can't help sounding like a maniac, or a dictator.
Still, it can't be denied that Trump has good reason to try to distract Americans from taking a good hard look at the kind of people he is appointing to his cabinet.
Because they couldn't be more monstrous...
Justin Trudeau and the Great Pipeline War
The next time Justin Trudeau visits Vancouver he'll have to keep a low profile, or wear plenty of camouflage paint.
Because the Great Pipeline War has finally begun in earnest.
But although the protests will be loud, and you can count me among those who believe that no new pipelines should be built.
As T.S. Elliot wrote in his poem The Hollow Men: "Between the idea and the reality... between the motion and the response...falls the shadow."
So I wouldn't be surprised if Justin wins the Great Pipeline War for the following reasons.

Donald Trump's Latest Scary Twitter Meltdown
For a moment, a very brief moment, I thought that Kellyanne Conway might be able to teach Donald Trump how to pretend to be a president.
Or at least behave like one.
Especially now that they both know that many more Americans voted for Hillary Clinton than voted for the orange oaf.
But then on Sunday Trump started to get agitated...

Why Justin Trudeau Should Attend Fidel Castro's Funeral

Fidel Castro:The Death of a Revolutionary Giant
I knew something was wrong when Fidel Castro wasn't able to meet with Justin Trudeau, during his recent visit to Cuba.
I knew Fidel had to be very ill not to meet with the young man he helped console while acting as an honorary pallbearer at his father's funeral.
And sadly I was right, for now it is the Cuban people who must bury their legendary leader.

Pierre Poilievre and the Death of the Unfair Elections Act
In all the nightmare years of Harperland, it was one of the foulest bills the Con regime ever rammed through parliament.
Pierre Poilievre's Orwellian named Fair Elections Act, which he claimed would strengthen democracy.
But was in fact a blatant attempt to strangle it by suppressing the vote.
So I'm glad to see that ghastly law is about to join Poilievre in the garbage can of history.

Donald Trump's Monstrous Thanksgiving
WhoWhatWhy
Donald Trump is spending the Thanksgiving holiday at his Mar-a-Lago castle, no doubt surrounded by his court of bigots and other deplorables.
And he's urging his people to unite and support him so he can make America great again.
But they would be crazy to do that, because they have nothing to celebrate.
And this Turkey Day in America couldn't be more monstrous.
Rick Mercer on Kellie Leitch's Race Baiting Campaign
With every passing day Kellie Leitch's absurd attempt to be Canada's Donald Trump is looking more desperate and pathetic.
She's been getting a lot of free publicity, and doing her best to sound like Trump...
But it's not getting her anywhere. Only three members of the Con caucus support her compared to eighteen for Andrew Scheer.
And one of those three is Peter Van Loan...

Donald Trump's Desperate Need To Be Loved
Donald Trump spent every day of his long campaign for the presidency demonizing Hillary Clinton and calling her a criminal.
He vowed that one of his first acts if he was elected would be to appoint a special prosecutor to go after her and jail her.
While his rabid supporters chanted "lock her up, lock her up."
But yesterday while having lunch at the New York Times, Trump seemed to change his mind.

Donald Trump and the Kakistocracy
Like so many people all over the world, I sometimes can't decide what to call Donald Trump.
Is he just a vulgar hustler who conned a nation into believing he was fit to be president? Or is he a deranged demagogue, or a budding fascist, or a would be dictator?
Or all of the above?
But at least now we all know what to call some of his most enthusiastic supporters:
Neo-Nazis.

The Horror of Trump and the Amazing Rise of the Resistance
I must say I really enjoyed what happened to Mike Pence, the sinister man from GLAD or MAGA, when went to the theatre the other night to take in a performance of the Broadway musical Hamilton.
And got a stirring message from the cast, urging him to restrain his bigot instincts and respect the human rights of all Americans. As well as a rousing chorus of boos.
And I can only hope that somebody asked him that old and tragic question:
"Apart from that

Donald Trump's Scary Military Junta
In one of my last posts I suggested that Donald Trump's decision to appoint the retired general Michael Flynn to be his national security adviser was a really bad idea.
For Flynn is as deranged as Trump and right out of Dr Strangelove. And instead of helping to restrain him might only encourage him to do crazy things.
Like start the Third World War.
But if you thought that was as bad as it could get, sadly you would be wrong.
Because this is the man he's thinking of making his secretary of defence.

Now Can We Call The Cons TEAM FART?
As you may have heard, Michelle Rempel has blown a fuse again, and has caused another unseemly fuss, or in this case stink, in the House of Commons.
By accusing the government of treating Alberta "like a fart in the room."
And then launching herself at the Green leader Elizabeth May like a bat out of hell.
I mean if you haven't seen that clip you really should.
Trump University and the Dawn of the Donald
Once upon a time Donald Trump claimed that his Trump University could make anyone as rich as he was, and that all could learn from the Master.
Until after only five years it collapsed under an avalanche of lawsuits, from those who claimed it was just a shabby scam and that Trump was a con artist.
But despite all the evidence against him, the Angry Orange spent the next six years fighting those claims in court, and among other things calling the judge a Mexican even though he was born in Indiana.
Only to finally surrender yesterday.

Donald Trump and the Strangelove Nightmare
For a moment yesterday I thought we were saved.
When news leaked out that Donald Trump might make Mitt Romney his Secretary of State instead of the sleazy Rudy Giuliani.
Or the mad bomber John Bolton.
John Bolton, a top candidate to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of state, is publicly calling for the U.S. to help overthrow the existing government in Iran.
But sadly that moment of relief didn't last long, because then I heard that Trump is planning to make this maniac his national security adviser.

The Cons, the NDP, and the Referendum Trap
As you know for almost a year Rona Ambrose and her Cons have been demanding that any plans for electoral reform must be approved by a referendum.
Screeching away like a broken record.
And for a very simple reason. They know that a referendum would almost certainly end up by reinforcing the status quo, and burying the idea of electoral reform for a generation.
So it's hard to understand why the NDP is now backing their position.

Kellie Leitch, Donald Trump, and the Racist Rebel
I don't know from what diseased mind or minds those hateful posters came from.
I don't know whether those racists were inspired by their Lord Emperor Donald Trump.
Or boosted by Kellie Leitch's emulation of him, and her politics of division.
But I must say I find this deeply disturbing.
Donald Trump, Steve Bannon and the Rise of The Resistance
It's easy to understand why so many Americans are so depressed, or so angry, at the thought of a Donald Trump government.
Having any one of those deplorables in the situation room, or anywhere near the nuclear button has to be a living nightmare.
The idea of the sleazy Rudy Giuliani as Secretary of State is enough to make one vomit.
And Trump's decision to make the grubby racist Steve Bannon his chief strategist is an absolute abomination.

Kellie Leitch and the Con Leadership Apocalypse
Now that I've almost recovered from the shock of seeing a deranged orange zombie like Donald Trump elected president, I decided to check out the Con leadership campaign.
Which as you may know, I'm calling Conapocalypse 2.
Only to discover it's not quite as scary, but almost as creepy, and definitely more hilarious.
With the Con clown Kellie Leitch suggesting that she is under attack for celebrating Trump's victory and his values so loudly.

The Supermoon and the Return of Bernie Sanders
I can hardly wait to row out to a dark place on the lake tomorrow night, to watch the supermoon rising.
For at a time when the darkness of fascism is descending on America, threatening to turn that country into a police state, or the Mad State of Trump.
At a time when so many of our neighbours are so stunned, so full of despair, and so angry.
I think that big old moon couldn't be a more hopeful symbol of what is about to happen.

Now We Know Why The RCMP Didn't Charge Nigel Wright
The Outrageous Case of the Judge In The Trump Hat
Imagine you're having a really bad post U.S. election nightmare, where you're being dragged before a judge for joining in an anti-Trump demo.
And when you look up from your clanking leg irons, you see the judge is Rudy Giuliani and he's wearing a Donald Trump baseball cap.
That would be a horrible nightmare wouldn't it? But at least you could say only in America eh?
Until you found out you were wrong.

Why Trump Could Look Like A Crook Even Before He Becomes President
Kellie Leitch and the Betrayal Of Our Canadian Values
You might think that as a doctor Kellie Leitch would understand that most Canadians were still in shock the morning after Donald Trump's victory.
Both shaken up and nauseous that such a bigot and a misogynist could have been elected president of the country next door.
So you might think that Leitch would restrain herself, so as not to make them feel worse.
But no, no she couldn't.
Donald Trump and the Birth of the Resistance
I watched the bloated fascist's victory speech, I heard his pathetic plea for unity.
Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division; have to get together.
It’s time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important to me.
And I almost died. Laughing.
The Great Divider now posing as the Great Uniter?
When there can be no unity or reconciliation with a fascist predator, only mass resistance.

The Day Fascism Finally Arrived in America
Tuesday, November 08, 2016
The U.S. Election: Between the Light and the Darkness
As I wrote in my last post, the Day of Judgement has finally arrived. The day when our neighbours decide what kind of country they want to live in.
The United States of America, or Trumpland.
And we must worry whether the flickering light of Hillary Clinton will prevail over the monstrous darkness of Donald Trump.
And what might happen to us, and the world, if she doesn't.
Donald Trump and the Death of the Republican Party
The day has finally arrived. The nightmarish U.S. election campaign is finally over.
Americans are voting at last.
While we wait to see whether the day will bring joy or an even worse nightmare. One that could kill us all.
I'll have some final thoughts about that in my next post.
But right now just want to wish all the decent people of America, our neighbours, our friends, the best of luck in their desperate struggle to stop the monstrous demagogue Donald Trump.

James Comey and the E-Mail Scandal That Never Was
Until the U.S. election FBI director James Comey had a fairly decent reputation, as a Republican who claimed he had no time for partisan politics.
But then in July when he cleared Hillary Clinton of criminal charges in her e-mail investigation, he chastised her publicly for being "reckless" when he should have kept his mouth shut.
And then late last month he sent a letter to Congress to let everybody know that the FBI was examining a new batch of e-mails found in the laptop of the sexting pervert Anthony Weiner.

Donald Trump and the Zombie Apocalypse
I spent most of yesterday trying to ignore the U.S. election for a day, by staying off the internet, reducing my exposure to CNN to three minutes at the most etc etc.
So I might have a fighting chance of making it to next Tuesday, without going crazy.
But sadly it just didn't work. Not when Donald Trump's zombies are within striking distance of the presidency, and most of the world is holding its breath...or whatever.
Naturally, the rest of the human race is on the edge of its seat right now. Pop a weather balloon over the Western hemisphere and half the world will pee itself. Small island nations will be flooded.
And not when for a moment I thought that somebody had tried to kill Trump.

Donald Trump and the Demonic Song of the Religious Right
Despite Donald Trump's abominable record of spiritual and fleshy corruption, the religious right in the U.S. still worships at his feet.
And are willing to forgive him his trespasses, in return for his promise to appoint God's chosen people to the Supreme Court.
So they can punish women for having an abortion, and launch an all-out assault on gay rights.
And of course destroy Hillary Clinton, who they believe is either the anti-christ, or possessed by demons...
Hillary Clinton, James Comey and the FBI Coup D'Etat
If Hillary Clinton loses the election to Donald Trump, it will be largely due to the FBI director James Comey's decision to inform Congress that another batch of Clinton's e-mails had been found in the laptop of the sexting pervert Anthony Wiener.
Even though Comey had no idea what was in them, and according to long established FBI protocol he should have kept his mouth shut until the election was over.
But while many accused Comey of singlehandedly trying to bring down Clinton, it now turns out the situation is even worse.

The Existential Threat of the Monster Donald Trump
As you know ever since Donald Trump announced that he was running for president, I have portrayed him as a monster.
And tried to make fun of his absurd delusion that he is fit to be the president of any country, let alone the United States.
But with just four days to go before the Day of Judgement, and polls suggesting that Trump is now dangerously close to Hillary Clinton.
I think the time has come to be deadly serious, and do what must be done to defeat this ugly fascist.
Melania Trump's Absurd and Self Defeating Speech
I never thought that Melania Trump would appear in public again, after she was caught in flagrante delicto plagiarizing Michelle Obama at the Republican convention.
But Donald Trump is desperate to try to win back some of the hordes of Republican women who have fled his clutches, so he forced her to make another campaign speech.
And sadly for Trump, and poor Melania, it also bombed.
She was as wooden or as robotic as ever. She had trouble keeping up with the autocue.
And her vow to lead the charge against cyberbullying if she becomes first lady couldn't have been more absurd.

Donald Trump's Creepy and Smutty Novel
In Los Angeles yesterday, a woman who claims that Donald Trump raped her when she was thirteen, was supposed to hold a news conference.
But it was cancelled at the last minute after her lawyer said her life had been threatened and she was living in fear.
A woman who accuses Donald Trump of raping her when she was just 13 has pulled out of a press conference after allegedly receiving death threats. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, alleges that Trump raped her at a party in 1994.
And while we can't know at this point who is telling the truth, Trump is a serial liar and a sexual predator.
And I find this deeply disturbing.

Hillary Clinton and the Republican War on Women
When I watched Hillary Clinton campaigning yesterday, I was impressed by the angry defiant look on her face.
And by the fact that she's still standing. For it has been a brutal week.
She has been stabbed not once but twice in the back by the FBI.
A rise in Obamacare premiums has given Donald Trump another weapon to use against her.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 31, 2016
And while most polls still show Clinton ahead.
She must be hearing Trump's heavy breathing behind her...

Donald Trump and the Return of the Daisy Girl
As we all know, Donald Trump is a threat to everything decent in America.
From its women and girls, who he would grope like a beast, to its democracy he would defile and degrade.
He would plunge the world into the greatest recession since the Great Depression.
But the greatest threat he poses is to the planet itself.
