Why Trump Could Look Like A Crook Even Before He Becomes President

As you probably know, Donald Trump has vowed to appoint a special prosecutor to go after "crooked" Hillary Clinton.

But strangely enough it's Trump himself who faces a greater chance of looking like a crook.

Even before he becomes president.

When the Trump University scandal comes back to haunt him.

Before Donald Trump raises his right hand to take the oath of office in January, he’s set for a less-auspicious swearing-in: taking the witness stand in his own defense in a federal court civil trial over alleged fraud in his Trump University real estate seminar program.

Which let's not forget could be really embarrassing...

Because he's got his fingerprints AND his face all over that one.

And it could make even many of his own supporters wonder whether Trump's an economic genius as he says he is, or a Con artist who can't be trusted to keep any of the many promises he has made,

And then of course, there's the equally embarrassing matter of that "Mexican judge" who was born in the United States.

Adding to the drama, the trial will bring Trump face to face with U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel. During the campaign, Trump triggered widespread outrage by arguing that Curiel’s Latino heritage made the judge irredeemably biased against him. The GOP presidential hopeful also called the judge “Mexican” and “Spanish.” He was born in Indiana.

Which might reinforce the notion that Trump is a racist, or at least seriously culturally insensitive...

And who knows what the judge might think of that?

But what we can be sure about is that now that Trump is the president-elect, the media will give that trial blanket coverage.

And as if that wasn't bad enough, there are all these other cases waiting like ticking time bombs to explode in his face.

In addition to several suits over Trump University, Trump has threatened lawsuits against a dozen or more women who’ve accused him of sexual impropriety in recent months—and several of those women have threatened to countersue if he comes after them.

There’s also a New York state investigation into his charitable foundation and a reported federal investigation into some of his advisers’ ties to Russia.

And of course there is Trump's appalling record of failure, which could also reinforce the unfortunate impression that he is a real con man.

Who doesn't know what he's doing.

And far from making America great again, might only make it poorer.

Which only makes me wonder where Trump will eventually end up.

Will it be the White House?

Or will it be the Big House?

You know like so many other people all over the world I'm worried about the future, now
that Trump is the president-elect.

But if I was Donald Trump, I'd be really worried about my future AND my past.

For with a past like that one, anything might happen...

The only one going to jail is going to be Hillary.

You're just upset that Americans elected Trump and don't share you viewpoint. I love how progressives and liberals are so open-minded... unless you disagree with them.

    1. hi anon...look you guys can chant "lock her up" until you are blue in the face, but Hillary isn't going to jail because she has been cleared by the FBI. You know, your friends who helped rig the election. While on the other hand Trump is under investigation for fraud , in not one case but two. And the FBI is still investigating his ties to the Russian government, which could conceivably get him tried for treason. And while it's true that I am upset to see such a dangerous, bigoted, and incompetent demagogue elected president. I don't see that anything I've written is close minded. I am only repeating facts that are already in the public domain. As will his taxes when he finally releases them. I'm not a betting man, but if I was I wouldn't bet a dollar on him surviving a full term...

  2. ah, disappointment. yeah it's real, no need to lie.
but we all know that with the fall of the USA and rise of the divided trumpits of emreeka (DTE), the exploitation of the poor and uneducated is only about to begin.

i sincerely wish i could extent congratulations to our neighbours but it is condolences that are in order - what were the promises that thedonald's made?
    - ban Muslims... that's out by now
    - build a wall... he hasn't mentioned that again
    - bringing water to California farmers (yeah, academics, engineers, politicians, etc. have only been waiting for centuries for thedonald to finally show up and turn the water on)
    - revive small towns in the DTE... hahahha (the DTE's economic infrastructure is set up to provide opportunities to urban centres... and the educated)
and did you notice how he is not jailing clinton? or talking about it?
ya poor wretches. you've been lied to and how!
not even clinton can beat that (and that's saying something).

i don't really now why Simon thinks that >>Trump Could Look Like A Crook Even Before He Becomes President<<. he is a crook, compulsive liar, misogynist, bigot and a bully. always has been and the sooner he is recognized as such, the better for everybody.

He doesn't take office til January Luce. Then his supporters are going to hold him accountable, and he'll be the celebrity dictator they want.

This is way cooler than Clinton winning the election, hop on board there's still room on the Trump Train.

    2. hi Luce...I probably should have written the headline differently, so it read like this:

TRUMP COULD LOOK LIKE EVEN MORE OF A CROOK EVEN BEFORE HE BECOMES PRESIDENT.

But the headline is the last thing I write, and by that time I'm usually so sleepy I can barely keep my eyes open. (I work a late night shift) However, I think I've made my views on Trump pretty clear. He is as you say, all those things and worse....

  4. And does anyone seriously think Trump is going to sue all the women who accused him of groping, etc. No way.

He has the option of settling the lawsuit and that is what I expect will happen. he is too close to the money now to give it all up. I am sure one of his supporters will step up and pay the bill and be done with it. there is just too much money to be made as president.

    1. hi e.a.f...he will almost certainly settle the lawsuit by paying off the plaintiffs. But while he has more than enough money to do that, it will amount to an admission of guilt, and it won't help his image. Especially if his foundation is also found to be fraudulent....

many settlements have clauses in them which stipulate no admission of guilty and no discussion. I expect that would be the case in this instance. People want their money back and in this economic climate they will happily agree to shut up.

  6. Trump could be impeached.

That assumes there are some sane Republicans in the US Senate, a dubious proposition at best, and it is not clear that Pence would be an improvement.

    1. hi jrkrideau...right now the only thing that could get him impeached is if he is found guilty of having sex with two 13-year-olds at the same time. No Republican would dare challenge him for anything less. But remember many top Republicans would like to see him replaced by Pence, who would be better for them, if not for us. So if I was Trump I would watch my back. Because I can easily see Trump playing the role of Julius Caesar...

the Republicans have a majority in the both Houses, end of story. No impeachment on anything.

top Republicans may or may not prefer Pence. He is much more ideologically driven than Trump. He understands how government works and may be more dangerous to the left than Trump.
