Why Are Donald Trump and His Gang Behaving So Strangely?

It was one of the weirdest scenes I've ever witnessed. Donald Trump leaving an executive order signing ceremony, without signing anything.

And his behaviour just keeps getting more and more bizarre, like these tweets he fired off this morning.

Which make absolutely no sense, unless he's desperately trying to deflect attention from a growing scandal that is threatening to destroy him.

For he cannot dig himself out of the hole he has dug for himself.

And could this be the reason Trump and his gang are behaving so strangely?

CBS News has learned that FBI agents are looking into whether Trump campaign associates were coordinating with Russian operatives as early as March of 2016. Sources say agents are examining whether individuals sympathetic to the Trump campaign directed hackers to specific information in Democratic party computer systems.

And if that did not spook Trump, an additional tidbit might have: “[A] year after the Russian operation began . . . sources say the FBI’s investigation is nowhere near over. It involves dozens of agents in Washington, New York, and London. The NSA and CIA are also gathering intelligence from inside Russia.”

For nobody can deny this.

They sure are doing a good imitation of panicked people trying to hide something very damaging.

And what also can't be denied, is that his assault on the media is an assault on democracy...

He is the real enemy of the American people, and nothing he says or does can conceal the ugly truth.

It was no secret during the campaign that Donald Trump was a narcissist and a demagogue who used fear and dishonesty to appeal to the worst in American voters.

Still, nothing prepared us for the magnitude of this train wreck. Like millions of other Americans, we clung to a slim hope that the new president would turn out to be all noise and bluster, or that the people around him in the White House would act as a check on his worst instincts, or that he would be sobered and transformed by the awesome responsibilities of office.

Instead, seventy-some days in — and with about 1,400 to go before his term is completed — it is increasingly clear that those hopes were misplaced.

He is already the worst president the U.S has ever known...

In a matter of weeks, President Trump has taken dozens of real-life steps that, if they are not reversed, will rip families apart, foul rivers and pollute the air, intensify the calamitous effects of climate change and profoundly weaken the system of American public education for all.

His personality is the problem...

What is most worrisome about Trump is Trump himself. He is a man so unpredictable, so reckless, so petulant, so full of blind self-regard, so untethered to reality that it is impossible to know where his presidency will lead or how much damage he will do to our nation.

But while it is impossible to know where this story is going. It's that crazy.

The Resistance is growing. The pressure is building.

This must be the message of all decent people....

And the more erratic he behaves.

The more easily he'll be DESTROYED...

Trump is already at 35% in the polls and the chaos is only beginning to set in. There was some hope that, like the horse in the fire hall, he would snap to when the bells sounded. That didn't happen. He never turned presidential. And now the strain is showing. It turned Barack Obama into a grey-haired man. It takes a toll on anyone who holds that office. And those guys were young and fit and experienced in the ways of government. They were also mentally fit. They weren't at war with their intelligence/security communities. They weren't at war with their own Congressional representatives. They weren't caught in a massive criminal investigation that shows no sign of ending anytime soon. And they didn't show up for the first day on the job at 70-years old. From that first day Trump has been falling behind, almost in a free fall. He hasn't even been able to attract A-List talent to his cabinet. There's no James Baker, no Henry Kissinger, no Leon Panetta in Trump's inner circle. All he's got are a gang of sycophants with zero government experience.

Simon, can you think of a better formula for catastrophic failure? It's literally pre-ordained.

read an interesting article, Politico, which compares Trump and the former president of Venezula. Even after Venezula has been reduced to the bottom of the economic barrel there are still people who "worship" the former president/dictator. its faith, as the article says.

people who believe in Trump, its like a religion with them. its easier than dealing with reality or finding solutions.

Trump himself may well be mentally ill. His constant leaving the W.H. and going to Florida is strange. He has limited vocabulary and his constant use of the same words to describe just about everything is very strange. I suspect he may not survive beyond 6 months.

He keeps these tweets up because he doesn't have much of importance to say and he wants to deflect from the real issues. He did it in business and he thinks it will work in government. However, in business it was just those few who dealt with him who looked at him. Now its 10s of millions all over the world.

sending the son in law to Iraq, like what is that about. the military doesn't send "invitations" to people to come and have a look at the war. its cabinet ministers, elected officials who go to check things out. It does however deflect from what is going on.

whatever dreadful things are going on in the U.S.A., well it effects a lot of innocent people, but they voted for him or stayed home and didn't vote because they didn't want Clinton and now they will either have to live with it or die because of it.

Living in B.C. I've seen this sort of thing for over 15 years with the B.C. Lieberals and with Christy Clark. The Americans have Donald Trump and B.C. has Christy Clark.

"It was no secret during the campaign that Donald Trump was a narcissist and a demagogue who used fear and dishonesty to appeal to the worst in American voters."

The Times begins by spewing the usual emotional claptrap and hysteria, which is now seen everywhere on corporate media. Trump appealed to voters because he was not a career politician. He’s not part of the ‘Big Club’ elite. The Illuminati grew way too complacent and accustomed to running the show with the help of their lying mainstream media. Trump is a populist and nationalist. He wants to restore America to greatness. That means thwarting the Deep State’s plans for globalism and tyranny--and they can’t stand it.

I knew it! The Illuminati are running the Deep State. Maybe Trump is part of their plan.

Is MC a fan of Alex Jones? Sure seems like it.

@ David,

Don't believe that Wiki entry. The Illuminati wrote it themselves to deflect suspicion.

@ John B.

Do not despair, the United States Postal Inspection Service has not been infiltrated. The FBI, though, is probably a lost cause.

The idea that this is some kind of salt of the earth movement is really insane. You think The Establishment is evil? This guy is here to strip the country down to nothing, create chaos and enrich himself and stupid fucking family on the backs of regular Americans. Fortunately for people like him MC, there are people like you will happily eat shit so long as Dear Leader plays the nationalism card. People like you are fucking up the planet for the rest of us.

Hi Mound.... Normally I'm the cheery one and you're the gloomy one. ;) But I do hope you're right. Everything you say is true, nobody has ever seen a government as incompetent and mentally unfit as the Trump regime. It should implode or collapse like a house of cards. But the Republicans know they'll never get a better chance to destroy government, so they're not likely to impeach him. And when I read stories about some of Trump's supporters who even though they stand to lose their health benefits are still loyal to their leader, it's horribly depressing. Still, like you, I can't believe that Trump's "government" will stand the test of time. I thought that Rex Tillerson might try to pass for a James Baker, but apparently he's also a loon who doesn't like to fly around with the media, and his own staff have been encouraged not to make eye contact !!! Can you believe that? I fear the day a real crisis hits, that movie is going to look a lot like Doctor Strangelove...

hi e.a.f...At first I was amused by Trump's tweets, but now I find them deeply disturbing. Some of them appear to me to be written by some kind of demon child. But you're right, like some of Chavez's supporters, some Trump supporters regard their leader as a god. I can understand why the poor and the desperate want to keep hope alive, but surely they must recognize that the emperor has no clothes. The Trump circus is a cross between a horror show and the three stooges or the Marx brothers, and I can't imagine a happy ending...

hi MC... I'm trying to keep an open mind, and understand what you're saying. But it's hard to do that when everything to you is some kind of conspiracy theory. There are some good things you might want to say about Trump. He has helped put a big nail in the coffin of out of control globalism. But that is negated by the fact that him and his government seem out of control. Can you really trust a cabinet of billionaires to make life better for the poor? And all this talk about the "Deep State" or the illuminati seems to me to be nothing but a paranoid fantasy. It's the kind of stuff a cult leader might hypnotize his followers into believing, but it isn't rational, and it won't take you to a good place...

hi jrkrideau...the illuminati have illuminated me, and want me to let you know that they are NOT amused. The post office is on our side, I mean their side, and you are in BIG trouble...;)

Simon said...

hi John...thanks for that useful information. When the Deep State picks me up, I'll remember to say take me to the illuminati, instead of take me to your leader. Unless of course I find out that the man behind the curtain is really Steve Bannon... ;)

hi David...as I told MC I think that he just wants to believe too much, and is in danger of becoming a member of the Trump cult. I understand why people want to believe, but worshipping false idols can only lead to disaster...
