As I watched the ritual humiliation of Donald Trump the other day, I couldn't help wondering how his Canadian stooge Pierre Poilievre was feeling.
For Poilievre owes him so much, and so many of his Convoy Party are also Trump supporters.
The ghastly Pee Pee was too cowardly to come out with a statement of support, for obvious reasons.
But he has found a way to let his MAGA Cons know that he's one of THEM.
By using the word WOKE as often as he can...
With some of his wokey dokey making him look like a Con clown...
And others making him look like an idiot or a monster.
Sadly for Poilievre the word "woke" isn't something bad, it's something good. And he's just perverting its true meaning.
So the Cons that use it to try to debase their progressive opponents are only debasing themselves, and showing who they really are i.e. more American than Canadian…
But then our little Trump Gauleiter really has no choice, having been caught once again between a rock and a hard place.
He doesn't dare criticize any of his far-right Trump supporters, lest he lose some of them to Maxime Bernier's full fledged fascists.
Why do you think he didn't punish the three Con MPs who partied with that European Nazi?
Why didn't he dare to criticize the ugly American Andrew Scheer who made a spectacle out of himself during Joe Biden's visit to the House of Commons?
You think Andrew would have a tad more enthusiasm for a fellow American citizen. π¦ pic.twitter.com/CWeEGiN9Zk
— Mark Gerretsen π¨π¦ πΊπ¦ (@MarkGerretsen) March 24, 2023
Why did he allow the ghastly racist Michael Cooper, who rents his house from him, to disrespect the American president?
As Michael Harris points out, the decent into the latest Con hell dates back to Poilievre's fatal decision to throw his lot in with the scummy MAGA types of the convoy, believing that they could help him destroy Justin Trudeau, by whatever means necessary.
So the Conservative party lurched to the populist right in the very first days of dysfunction in Ottawa. It abruptly changed leaders, championed the truckers, and came after Justin Trudeau personally. They were betting that with the help of evangelicals, angry blue collar workers and the usual fatigue with any three-term government, the truckers would chauffeur them back into power.
And no matter what he and his allies will say publicly, Poilievre’s direction for the Conservatives clearly was inspired by Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement.
So Poilievre's latest move to try to damage the CBC with the help of Elon Musk shows us how much Trump has influenced him, and how much that rancid little man hates Canada...
Talk about foreign interference.
And what about this latest tweet that could have slid out of Trump's cavernous rear orifice.
It's disgusting that a creepy Con like Poilievre, with nothing to show for his almost twenty years in Parliament, should try to debase a distinguished Canadian like David Johnston, with a proud record of service.
But at least now that Trump is heading for the Big House.
Or judging from one of his latest social media messages, the rubber room...
Poilievre's plan to ride to victory on the back of Trump's convoy crazies is looking more and more like a fatal political mistake.
And even Con fluffers like little Don Martin know Poilievre is living on borrowed time.
Chanting “jail not bail” or “go-woke, go-broke” is all very catchy while ideas such as ending safe injection sites and suing pharmaceutical companies to pay for the tragic cost of opioid addictions may be eye candy for his base, but they’re not middle-ground vote-shifting positions.
Without image overhaul to attract wider appeal, Poilievre will be seen by voters as Pee Wee Herman’s angry twin selling himself to unimpressed Canadians as the hard-right hope to fix a country that is both broke and broken.
Especially since most Canadians will come to understand that it's Poilievre who is broken not Canada, long before the next election. We'll make sure of that.
He’s an ugly racist, he’s a vile misogynist, he lies like a thief, he's a climate change denier, he’s a traitor to our Canada and its values.
But with a little bit of woke luck, his days are numbered.
And him and his good buddy Trump will end up in the same place…

The CBC is way harder on Trudeau than PP. The Trudeau Foundation has zero to do with Justin, but just like all the other fake scandals the three guys make something big out of nothing burger plus.
ReplyDeleteCanada is always 10 years behind the U.S. I am not a religious person by nature but I pray you don't fall into the same trap that we did.
ReplyDeleteSteve is right: the CBC seems too afraid of Skippy's constant Trumpish cries of "LIBERAL BIAS!!! FAKE NEWS! CLINTON BROADCASTERS OF CANADA!" that they fall over themselves to go harder on the Liberals with fake scandals and torqued push polls repeated ad nauseam, while treating the cons with kid gloves. It's never good enough -- this is called "working the refs" and it's a strategy the right has employed with a degree of success for 40 years.
They need to start covering this democracy-threatening hate movement masquerading as a political party like the danger that it is, instead of espousing "false objectivity" and bothsidesing themselves into oblivion. Stop giving him free airtime to spew his vomit like MSNBC and CNN did with Trump. Stop being so negative and nitpicky about the PM. Stop with the incessant pundit panels. Talk about policy (and the CPC's lack thereof), instead of the cheap and lazy horse race and "time for change" mantra. Defend the CBC, don't defund the CBC. Fix it, "make it great again," don't abolish it altogether.
Whatever you do, Canada: Don't let the pigeon drive the bus.
Just watched the committee hearing with Katie Telford . Little Pete's reformatories thought that she could be intimidated because she's a she. Surprise !. Now I know what you get when you cross a misogynist with an idiot: The Concervative Party of Canada.
ReplyDeleteI was, however , surprised to see a woman from the NDP trying the bully boots on and failing disastrously. To think, I even voted NDP years ago.
Truck driving trogladites will like to see a woman publicly bullied but real Canadians will not. Own goal by PP: no vote gain here.
Hi UU...The way Poilievre is cozying up to Elon Musk is both disgusting and pathetic. He seems to think that Musk's warped and diminished twitter will help him with the election. But studies have shown that it doesn't move many voters. And Poilievre's support on Twitter has a large number of bots and fake sites. If Musk ever cleans up his site, Poilievre will be left high and dry. And since he loves the sound of his own voice he'll stick to YouTube and go down with it...
ReplyDeleteHi Steve...you're right. The CBC gang seem to think that if they are extra nice to Poilievre, he will spare them if he ever becomes Prime Minister, which of course is nonsense, and why I call them the Jonestown losers. Poilievre wants to destroy the CBC just like he wants to destroy Canada. He's not playing with a full deck, and I expect him to to have a complete nervous breakdown long before the next election.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that he could take on Justin Trudeau in a a prolonged campaign is absolutely laughable...
Hi Jackie...I agree with you completely. CBC management doesn't know what they are doing. And if they don't wake up, and stop trying to both side what is an assault on our country and its values, they will end up looking like idiots, and traitors. They need to understand that the Cons are following the Trump playbook, do more to expose them, and take no prisoners. Cons are an ugly mix of foul smelling far right extremists and religious fanatics, and unless the CBC makes it their mission to destroy them, they are the ones who will end up in the garbage can of history. Luckily some of them can see the writing on the wall, and when Poilievre's polls start to tank, it won't take much for many of them to abandon him. And we can do to him what he once tried to do to us, and suppress his vote until he becomes even more crazed and is finished once and for all. I know the Liberals are holding their fire until Canadians have had enough of him, but when they use what they have against him, Poilievre will be left squealing like a pig....
ReplyDeleteHi Rumleyfips...I watched some of the Telford inquisition, and I was very impressed with the way she handled herself. As for the Cons, I think you summed them up well. When you cross a misogynist with a Con you get the Conservative Party of Canada. I also thought the NDP representative shamed herself, and behaved like a Con. I also once voted for the NDP, but never again. The stakes are just too high to let them try to become relevant again by siding with the Cons against the Liberals. How far have they fallen.....
ReplyDeleteHi Simon
ReplyDeleteI tried to do a little research into Anaida Galindo Poilievre's family history. Funny thing, I can't seem to find any information on her parents.
Furthermore, even on her Wiki page, she doesn't devulge her parents' names.
She claims that her father was a Venezuelan bank manager who left there with his family and moved to Montreal in 1995. She claims that he supported the family working on a farm as a fruit and vegetable picker and then, according to Anaida, started a small business.
I did read on one comment board that PeePee's father-in-laws investments were not so small. (Franchise pharmacies?)
I'm not sure if you know but the Venezuelan gov't spent $5 billion from Jan to June 1994 to try to rescue 8 banks. All declared bankruptcy in June 1994. State officials say that most of the public funds for recovery had been stolen by bankers.
And the fact that Anaida's nameless Venezuelan banker dad arrived in Canada in 1995 has my spidey senses tingling.
I'm hoping someone out there, with internet slouth skills, can find out the truth behind this story. It could help bring down Pee Wee's fascist Canadian cousin, Pee Pee Herman.
Hi anon@7:40PM...Good work, I think we need to find out a lot more about the background of Poilievre's wife and family. I have always found it strange that Poilievre's father in law was a Venezuelan bank manager who when he arrived in Canada ended up working as a fruit and vegetable picker. The bank scandal in Venezuela was huge, and ruined many poor Venezuelans, so I think it's time to follow the money. I was hoping to help, but these days I'm trying to find out more about Poilievre's birth parents, because I honestly believe that only they can explain PeePees bizarre behaviour. He is clearly suffering from some kind of neurosis/mental illness and the sooner we find out the better...
ReplyDeleteSimon, I hate to bring it up because it is so contrvisial but it passes the smell test of human behavior. But do you care or do you not care. If you do not care this is very bad and we have to fix it.
ReplyDeleteSteve
Hi Steve...I'm not quite sure what you are talking about, so I'll just say this: I believe that Pierre Poilievre and his Cons are the greatest existential threat this country has ever known. And I further believe that this country is ill prepared to face that threat, so we are going to have to attack the Cons like they have been attacking the decent people of this country. And in that regard I have good news. The Anonymous warriors have just announced that they have just added Pierre Poilievre to their list of targets, so it's only a matter of time before Poilievre starts feeling the heat...
ReplyDeleteDid anyone catch Skippy's tweet today? Comparing a so-called "tyranny of the experts" to living under Nazi Germany and invoking Hitler by visual? He knows damn well how this will play to the base, considering how he just asked favours of Musk, and Musk compared Trudeau to Hitler during the convoy. Years ago, saying that doctors, civil servants, and the national broadcaster were all Nazis in disguise doing mind control through the television screen and injecting poison in the populace would have a person sectioned and diagnosed with a delusional disorder. Now the kind of stuff you used to hear being rambled incoherently by cranks on the subway is just standard conservative talking points on a day ending in Y. He is off his rocker and belongs in a rubber room nowhere near the PMO.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie….Yes, I saw that tweet and I could hardly believe it. Poilievre has debased himself and his party many times before, but this is so bad and so ugly I can only question whether he is having a full nervous breakdown. Something is terribly wrong with him and I believe that if his condition deteriorates further the Cons will have to consider replacing him before he takes their party down with him. In my opinion he’s either having a bipolar breakdown, or something has emerged from his past and is driving him over the deep end. Needless to say I’ll take either option. And one thing is for sure, he will never be fit enough to be Prime Minister….

ReplyDeleteyou controlled the droids and some maybe 20 percent where progamable. This 20% of total vision can defeat 30 percent under the right circumstances. This is one of the firt items to be given a public inquiry.
Nice to see an update, so thanks for that Simon.
ReplyDeleteYes, CPC are a threat to the nation. That threat is very mitigated in that it's highly unlikely that they can get a majority government. Because of the way our country basically fractures from the Laurentians westeward, we've both that Bloc (pun intended) in QC and the Maritimes concern and Ontario and...B.C. and Territories.
Alberta-Manitoba-Saskatchewan = 70+ seats, Ontario = maybe 30-40 seats for CPC and then it's slim pickings. Contrary to that super weird statement from P.J. Fournier, BQ and CPC could make an alliance but it's super, super unlikely if CPC doesn't promise that QC residents stop paying taxes federally, and that would mean QC gets the CPP inserted into QPP. I know it all seems arcane, but basically in lay people's terms it means Poilievre would have to give Alberta a middle finger to collude with QC. Not happening.
So the future is likely as we are now. Poilievre will be replaced by Leslyn Lewis (CPC won't learn its lesson from another loss, they will just go super hard down the tunnel) and NDP-LPC/BQ will just carry on.
Hopefully at that point Fife/Coyne/Lilley have other job options. Hey...they could resurrect SUN TV, maybe they'll get more than 8,000 viewers this time? :-)
So has CSIS caught the ‘leaker’ yet?
DeleteOr just having a laugh every time Telford calls and yells on the phone.
Doug Ford was the antogist in a series of videos made during the last century. You know them as Scooby Doo. Has there ever been such a focus on real estate in Canadian Goverment?
ReplyDeleteI think the focus on housing is b/c the current cohort is starved for lodging.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I know a 31-year old that is getting a house but he's gonna have a 30 year mortgage or somesuch but he will have a house in Ottawa suburbs. Conservatives are free market types (idk, are they about anything these days?) so they shouldn't mind if houses are $$$.
Jackie, I do tend to agree with you but I think I see Canada ahead socially of the United States by 5-10 years and behind politically by about same. With the Orange One potentially making a comeback in the prez race for next year (?) it looks like that might harm Skippy, and who knows what the Fox ruling means for that propaganda outlet...
Anyway, watch for more bozo eruptions from the CPC caucus, we haven't heard from Mairlyn Gladu in a while...thankfully!
Bob Marley Gate another nothing burger. However a lot of nothing will sway the holi poli.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t the National Post now “government-funded”? Or, at least partly so?

Hi Pierre....Thanks for your comment, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to answer your and other comments with my usual efficiency. Ahem. But I have been travelling a lot, and I'm quite frankly discombobulated by the state of Canada and the rest of the world. Poilievre keeps claiming that Canada is broken, but to me it seems that compared to others it's doing just great, not perfect but really good. And that if anybody or anything is broken it's Poilievre and his Canada-hating Convoy Party. The way they are debasing our Parliament by turning it into a fascist circus has to be seen to be believed. It's simply grotesque, and in my opinion disqualifies the Cons from ever forming a Canadian government again...
ReplyDeleteHi anonymous@2:08 PM...I don't know whether CSIS has caught the leaker aka the Convoy Party traitor yet. But I'm sure they will. And when they do, I'll be demanding a televised trial. Con treason is serious business, and you and your friends must be seen to be punished. My only worry is that whatever the great Yellow Peril scandal is about, most Canadians don't seem to care. It came in like a lion, and went out like a lamb. Pity...
ReplyDeleteHi U.U...Not only does the Postmedia receive truckloads of money from the federal government, but its big boss recently claimed that the Post and other Con rags couldn't survive without it. So why does Postmedia take all that money, and then spend all the time biting the hand that feeds it? Don't ask. Just say only in Canada eh? And then put pressure on your MP to stop subsidizing those Con papers. The more we can cause to go bankrupt, the happier we'll all be...
