In my last post I wondered whether Erin O'Toole was losing control of his ugly Cons.
Now just a few days later, it's clear that old Outhouse is in big big trouble.
Not only is he losing control, many of his SoCon zombies are revolting.
And are threatening to seize control, or eat, the upcoming Con policy convention.
Social-conservative activists are seeking to dominate this month’s Conservative policy convention by electing large numbers of anti-abortion delegates, which could undermine the leadership of Erin O’Toole.
Some of his other MPs aren't even pretending listen to him anymore, and are openly undermining the war on Covid.
While Michelle Rempel is making O'Toole look like a dangerous idiot for thinking that she could ever be fit to be a health critic...
Instead of a boozy uber partisan hack.
And if all that isn't bad enough, now even the Postmedia Con Propaganda Network is suggesting that O'Toole doesn't know what he's doing.
There’s a disconnect between O’Toole, who believes the party is in good shape electorally, and some members of caucus who feel the party is floundering and would get clobbered in an election held soon.
Gauging the mood of the 120 MPs in caucus is never easy from the outside, but one longtime party insider told National Post they haven’t heard this much caucus turmoil since Stockwell Day was in charge.
Can you believe that?
Or can you believe that Captain Outhouse still thinks he's a winner, and doesn't need to publicly apologize for that disgusting video?
It's disgustingly depraved, but I guess Outhouse has no shame, and like most in the Harper Party lost his moral compass a long time ago.
And the good news?
Despite smearing Justin Trudeau day after day, and lying like Andrew Scheer, as this latest Abacus poll suggests, most Canadians STILL don't want O'Toole to be prime minister.
And despite all that foul propaganda it appears O'Toole is more unpopular than ever...
Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole sees his negatives rising for the 4th straight wave in our research. Today, 32% have a negative view of him, while 20% view him positively. This is the highest negative we’ve measured for Mr. O’Toole since we started tracking his public image.
Golly. No wonder O'Toole is so desperate...
And no wonder Con HQ is putting out this desperate message..."Don't read what the @TorontoStar and some of the people who don't want us to win say, we are united."

I mean if you have to say it @erinotoole ...... pic.twitter.com/7g6nSV3dyt
Which couldn't be more pathetic.
For why would Justin Trudeau look for an excuse to call an election, when he will almost certainly become more popular as more Canadians get vaccinated?
So he can afford to wait, and maybe even get to watch the Harper Party aka Trump Party North go down in flames.
Yup, Outhouse O'Toole thought he could fool everyone all the time.
And get away with it.
But in the end, he only he only fooled himself...
Oh, the peasants are revolting all right. The more the Cons flounder, the more they gear up to jump the shark. With his latest publicity stunt threatening to call the cops on the K-bros, it's become blatantly obvious at this point that Skippy is positioning himself to be the swivel-eyed loons' miniature messiah after the tool man leads them to an apocalyptic rapture -- er, rupture. Deplorable Derek's cult of pizzagaters, fetus fetishists and friendly sausage handlers wants a pit bull but they'll have to settle for a hangry teacup chihuahua.
ReplyDeleteStockwell Day? LOL. I guess that leaves Eric no choice but to make a grand entrance into the convention by jumping the shark on a Jet Ski. I'm sure weak Andy can loan him a life jacket for when he faceplants onto the wet sand. His soft head caught between a rock and a hard place: the dwindling PCs who Judas MacKay betrayed, and the horde of QMorons demanding their unreality be affirmed.
Who wants popcorn?
It more than alledged the Trudeau vaccine has Fidels DNA. It will make you a communist. You will have to wear a beret for the rest of your life.
ReplyDeleteMichael Harris said a while back, "Some people tell lies to conceal the truth; the Conservatives tell lies because they have forgotten what the truth is.” We all know the conservatives have always indulged in ratfucking, political sabotage and dirty tricks, of which Harpo was undeniably a grand master. This tool imbecile and the like of loudmouth lièvre à poil can pretend all they wants, he won't reach that, hum, degree of nefarious sophistication; perhaps the upcoming virtual will allow him to sway a gullible few, but if an election takes place in the coming weeks, Justin might just make it.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie....And now we’re both back!! And what good timing. Captain Outhouse and his scurvy gang have never looked more vulnerable. And Pigeon Poilievre has never looked more deranged, and that’s saying something. He’s trying to bully the Kielburger brothers and the Trudeau family. He must have forgotten that bullying was the reason some say he had to bail out of the Con leadership at the very last moment. I was saving that for the next election, but I may have to haul it out of my Con Tickle Trump a little sooner. And help clip pigeon’s wings once and for all...
ReplyDeleteHi Steve....Good one. I just wish Rempel would take the Fidel vaccine, so she could become the bearded lady in a rundown circus 🤡 Which is of course where she belongs...
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting , patiently, for some explanation for peckerhead pete's retreat from the leadership contest. It's hard to believe that his past behavior won't surface to sink his tiny insignificant ship. So what do the reformatories have left ? The right wing nut jobs hate the old tool, Leslie is a girl' Petey has closet skeletons, Potato Pete is Potato Pete and Max drove himself into obscurity. The reformatories are left with Sloan - an easy mark during an election campaign.
ReplyDeleteHi Sisyphus...A friend of mine is writing a paper on the evolution of the Big Lie in Canada, and if I remember he says the Con lie machine began near the tail end of the Harper years, but really took off when Andrew Scheer became Con leader. And that can be attributed to the influence of Donald Trump. Which is why I like to say that the Cons are now more American than Canadian, and needless to say must be resisted by whatever means necessary. As for the election date, I still believe that it will come in the summer when most Canadians have been vaccinated...l
ReplyDeleteThe Liberals are focused on the job at hand. That much is obvious. It is the Opposition Parties that have been showing signs of fear and anxiety.
ReplyDeleteThe Conservatives chose the wrong guy. He is essentially Andrew Scheer with less hair. Scheer at least had some comedic value, even if he was never trying to be funny, while Mr. O'Toole has none even when he is trying to be funny. Conservatives are reading the mood of Canadians and are scared shitless.
The NDP is flailing under a leader who does not seem to have any idea of how to articulate cogent policy positions. In the past that was one thing the NDP had going for it. You always knew what they stood for. That is no longer true. The saving grace for them is most Canadians have not noticed that the NDP have ditched many of their long standing values, the very values that garnered respect from Canadians, even if they did not necessarily agree with them. If Canadians begin the notice the NDP will be in trouble.
The Greens are invisible. Ms. May always found a way to make Canadians notice her party but this new leader has not been as successful at doing so.
Before Christmas the Bloc was the most gung ho of the Opposition Parties for an election. Now just a few short months later they are saying that an election is not necessary.
The rise of populism, the neo-charismatic movement and spiritual warfare in North America:
ReplyDeleteIn today's rapidly changing world the rational mind can be an unhappy place. On one hand we have life's experience and values to guide us while on the other hand we have the unrelenting bombardment of often conflicting insecurities, wants and needs. For example we might want a new gas guzzler but our social values related to climate change says no, perhaps logic tells us to do our part to prevent the spread of Covid by wearing a mask but our interpretation that it is a repressive freedom squashing religious symbol says no. The constant tension between wants and values can be a major source of despair and unhappiness.
Then out of a blue outhouse a voice whispers in our ear, reject elitist values, take a trip into the past and adopt values that closely match your current wants. Buy that gas guzzler, pump that oil and perhaps make a charitable donation at Christmas although the poor are responsible for their own fate. Mental turmoil solved!
Not to be outdone the charismatic crowd did one better. Confused and unhappy due to mental conflict and uncertainty, we have a magic potion for you. Its a special blend of selected religious rote combined with a pinch of magical thinking. One sip and the spirit will touch you. Values, experiences, wants and needs will be mindlessly fused together in one huge endorphin rush. But that's not all! Paula White wants to offer you an elite position in Trumps spiritual army engaged in driving the evil demons out of America and return it to the land of virtue and prosperity. Nothing better than a 2 for 1 deal, grab it before its gone!
Some Canadian Cons watched in amazement and felt empowered as the story unfolded, others were frightened by the blatant power grab as the old rules were tossed out and replaced by an authoritarian style where bribery today does not necessarily mean that you will not be tried and convicted in a kangaroo court tomorrow.
Sensing a potential coup the Outhouse set forth to let the charismatic contingent know who is boss and negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement. Will he be successful or have they embraced mirroring Trump and expanding spiritual warfare. Stay tuned as the saga continues.

There's something that's just not sitting well with me regarding the outfit Michelle wore at that (de)presser. It was lacking flowers in her hair or something, I don't know. Though I didn't(or wouldn't) watch the entire thing, I did catch the last couple of minutes where they asked everyone if they had anymore questions for Dr. Rempel which was followed by... silence. Sad. I guess they had their fill of her home made whine.
ReplyDeleteFast forward to the tool who's polling is receding faster that his hairline. Is it any wonder when all he does is gripe and moan and bitch about everything? "Now let's get to work" he says. Followed by bitching and moaning and lying and deceiving. STFU already! The tool needs to unite his party under the big blue porta potty but with so many kooks in the ranks, it'll be virtually impossible. And, as Martha would say, "that's a good thing". I take great pleasure in seeing the party that has divided this country so badly suffer from division within. The smell of dissent is ripe and ready to tear them apart. Now let's get to work.

Sorry for the repost Simon meant to respond here instead of the pervious post
ReplyDeleteAt present, the “big” conservative tent is made up of various groups: social conservatives, religious bigots, racists and the remnants of the proud terrorist movement, the gun lobby/school shooter lobby, the privatise health care lobby, wexist traitors, and perhaps a tiny minority of middle of the park Tories.
Managing these disparate groups as well as the ambitious personalities that come with them requires a great deal of skullduggery. If Harper was still in charge, an “inadvertent” leak of some embarrassing personal failing would have stopped all talks of “behind-the-scenes tensions” in the conservative caucus. O’stool doesn’t strike me as the sort of party leader ruthless enough to have that sort of information.
All eyes are on the Con policy convention! Who knows, maybe the cons are savvy enough to invite trump to inject some energy into their convention!
BX
Since the CPC was cobbled together from the old Reform Party and the remnants of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada there have been questions of whether it could stay united. They succeeded long enough at the beginning to take power in 2006 but when they lost in 2015 people began asking whether they would be able to stay united without the "discipline of power".
ReplyDeleteI guess we will have to wait and see.
BTW, do not trust these Conservative supporters in the media suddenly being critical of the Conservatives and making noises about how they are not united. It would not be surprising if they were hyping up the idea of the Conservative convention being a disaster, with Social Conservatives reigning supreme, only to have none of that coming to pass and then spinning it as a "victory" for Erin O'Toole's leadership and "proof" that the CPC really is a "moderate" political party.
dont forget about the people from Okie and the other repugnants
ReplyDeleteSimon do you think you'll write something about the Meghan and Harry interview? I added my 2p to say that one of the biggest takeaways was how toxic the British media is, and how incestuous their coziness with "the firm". There are some clear and obvious parallels to Canada's MSM that are unfortunately compounded by concentrated ownership in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteThis needs to change pronto. The bailout needs to be cancelled so that Pestmedia can die in misery like it deserves. Dunno what can be done about the Globe & Heil or the newly assimilated ToryStar though.
Piers getting his comeuppance was a thrill to see. I just wish the same would happen to all the garbage pundits and Charlie Dingus for mocking the mental health advocacy of Margaret (and Sophie) Trudeau.
Hi Rumleyfips....The Cons are indeed in desperate shape. There is a reason they weren’t able to attract any decent outside candidates to their leadership race. Right now the only Con who is popular with their ugly base is Pierre Poilievre. But as I pointed out months ago, Poilievre has a giant skeleton in his closet. And the same people who caused him to drop out at the last moment, are prepared to threaten him again should he try to revive his candidacy. That’s why as O’Toole sinks in the polls, Poilievre is so angry. But he has only himself to blame...
ReplyDeleteHi Ottlib....You’re right to question the sincerity of all the Con commentators who are now criticizing Erin O’Toole and his foul gang. They could be trying to make the situation even bleaker than it is, so O’Toole can look like a Great Leader when he manages to hold the party together. But I think they just might be desperate. There is a lot of so-called dark money invested in the quest to defeat Trudeau, and the big boys would sure hate to see another Trudeau majority. One day the real story will be exposed and a lot of Canadians will be shocked...
ReplyDeleteHi BX....I think you’re right. Harper was successful in holding his party together because he was smart and ruthless. O’Toole is neither so the Cons are basically out of control. If it wasn’t for the few Harperites in his inner circle the situation would be even worse. I think O’Toole will survive the policy convention, but the divisions will haunt him in the lead up to the next election. Of course all that could change if Trump should turn up at their convention. It would be very exciting, but the end result would the Cons trailing the Green Party. 😉
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie....I would like to write something about Harry and Meghan but I don’t know if I dare. My family in Scotland are all on the side of “the firm,” especially our Queen (my Mum). I on the other hand think the Windsors, with the possible exception of the Queen, are a bunch of arrogant airheads and parasites. So best let sleeping dogs lie...
