The Con Zombie and the Internet Snooping Bill

Gawd. Trust the old Con zombie Vic Toews to come stumbling out of his crypt, and make a complete fascist fool out of himself. Again.

Critics of a bill that would give law enforcement new powers to access Canadians' electronic communications are aligning themselves with child pornographers, Canada's public safety minister says.

"He can either stand with us or with the child pornographers," Vic Toews said of Liberal public safety critic Francis Scarpaleggia during question period on Monday, after Scarpaleggia asked about a bill expected to be tabled Tuesday.

Only three months after claiming that anyone who opposed his totalitarian internet snooping bill, was a child pornographer AND a mobster.

And only three days after suggesting that anyone who disagreed with the Cons was not just an Enemy of the State, but also a potential terrorist.

When in fact the Cons are the real threat to this country. The internet snooping bill is hideously flawed. Especially this part.

Bill C-47, the Technical Assistance for Law Enforcement in the 21st Century Act (TALEA), would give authorities access to information about subscribers and their mobile devices, even without a warrant. The bill would also oblige all telecommunications companies to build in a capability allowing authorities to intercept communications on their networks.

Police don't need it to protect society from the real child pornographers.

And the only reason the Cons are trying to pass it like a stinky stool, is to intimidate their opponents, and raise the level of fear in our society. So they can kill government, and turn us into a right-wing jungle and a sinister police state.

But then sadly, it's not the first time the Con zombie has put his foot in his mouth and eaten it.

He has attacked the Charter of Rights and Freedom, and the Supreme Court. He has accused judges of judicial activism. He supported lowering the age of criminal responsibility from twelve to ten.The great friend of children.

And of course, as a religious fanatic, and a "family values" crusader he has always been a vicious homophobe. And a ghastly hypocrite.

So calling him the Minister of Public Safety is a joke only Big Brother would enjoy. And anyone who would trust Vic Toews with preserving our democratic freedoms must be either crazy, or dumb, or a fellow zombie.

And the good news? One day those sinister Cons are going to be caught abusing the new powers they are giving themselves. Caught with their hands in your computer, or just caught with their pants down diddling the rights of Canadians.

And it will be the END of them. Just like it was for Richard Nixon and his gang of plumbers.

Nice thought eh?

In the meantime, enjoy your internet freedom while you still have it.

And keep your doors locked. Because it's getting awfully dark in Con Canada.

And the zombies are coming...

  1. These hideous comments from Toews in a better world, would be enough for the opposition to demand his resignation and for a real leader sitting in the prime minister's chair to comply, In our sad state of affairs, this deplorable idiot will go on to make more insulting and mind numbingly stupid comments and get a free pass.

    1. hi bcwaterboy...I'm afraid Toews and some of the other ReformCons are now out of control. They've had to hide their true colours for so long, they just can't keep their pants on. Of course you and I had the Con zombie figured out a long time ago. Which reminds me... can I count on you to back up my claim that I also figured out Great Ugly Leader a long time. Because that is a teeny consolation in these dark times, and I want history to absolve me... ;)

With majority in both chambers, expect more form this fascist governement in the years to come. The Cool Canada that used to be the envy of everybody is about to become a running gag (and not a good one)

    1. hi anonymous...I have always expected the worst from this government. And although I admit to being slightly surprised by the depth of their depravity. Because I didn't think it was possible to sink that low in such a short time. I have absolutely no doubt that the worst is still to come...

P.S. I remember when Canada was cool. And how proud I felt. But boy was that long ago...

  3. Why does he refuse to make the bill only apply to child porn investigations? What else is bad enough to necessitate these extraordinary powers? What is he hiding?
