Who Are The Con Extremists Directing The Trucker Terrorists?

It's a hostage taking that has now been going on for two weeks. A horror show unlike any other this country has seen.

And in the murky darkness there are so many questions that need to be answered.

Who are these Con trucker thugs and what do they really want?

What shadowy right-wing extremists are orchestrating this all out assault on our country and its democracy?

And the burning question.

Why have the police appeared to be doing NOTHING to stop them?

The so-called “Freedom Convoy” originally meant to protest COVID-19 vaccine mandates and quarantine rules for cross-border truck drivers entered its 16th day on Saturday with over 4,000 demonstrators convening in Ottawa.

Ottawa police said that enforcement was limited due to “safety concerns” such as  “aggressive, illegal behaviour.”

For their claim that they can't enforce the law because those breaking the law are too aggressive, and their behaviour too illegal, is laughable.

And it begs this question:

Why are so few vehicles and a handful of protesters being allowed to block Canada's most important bridge?

How many police officers does it take to clear that tiny barricade, and arrest the Con terrorists responsible?

It's infuriating decent Canadians, and making us look weak in the eyes of the world.

And it can't help but make people wonder whether the police are on our side, or on the side of the Con terrorists?

Frank Graves is deeply troubled.

Mark Bourrie believes we could be witnessing a slow motion coup coup.

As for me, I'm going to reserve judgement, until I can do more research into the backgrounds of the far-right Con junta running this mass hostage taking.

Despite a strategic strike by police to cut off supplies to truckers encamped in the city's downtown core, protesters appear to still have the upper hand on police.

It's a success that experts partly attribute to the deep knowledge of law enforcement and military tactics that exist in the convoy's organizational structure.

I need to know more about operatives like Tom Quiggin, a former military intelligence and RCMP officer, who is promoting his new book like this:

As only a Trudeau hating racist could.

I also want to know who are the shadowy hardliners who Matt Gurney met in a small dark park in Ottawa. The ones who made him feel he should get out of there in a hurry.

It was clear well before I even arrived that this was something different. There was absolutely no police presence. Not a single uniformed officer or marked cruiser. (Note my careful phrasing there: I have no doubt this place is under watch. Just not overtly.) This site, for lack of a better term, has been fortified. There are many trucks parked in the parking lot, but some of them have been arranged to form outer walls. These walls have been augmented with wooden sawhorses and what looked to me to be stacked pallets of some kind. There was an entrance with a tent marked Reception (see photo, below). I wish I could give you a better description of the site, or tell you what was inside, but as soon as I began to approach it on foot, someone very quickly fell into step behind me. A series of others, four or five, met me before I made it to the reception tent. We chatted briefly, and I got the distinct impression that it would be way, way better for me to be somewhere else. I left.

For I found that deeply disturbing, and I think everybody should.

But for now I'm just going to agree with Gary Mason, and blame most of this horror show on that ugly Canadian disease toxic Trudeau hatred.

So much about the pandemic discussion in this country today is phony, overwrought and false. What’s happening in Ottawa is not a protest against vaccine mandates. It never was. It’s a protest against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The organizers, who hail mainly from the Prairies, hate the man. Many who have since joined the encampment have an intense dislike for him as well. Some are anarchists who want to overthrow the government.

It’s why the federal Conservative Party of Canada were so comfortable crawling into a proverbial bed with these losers. They share a common disdain for the person leading this country.

How could it not be? When Trudeau hate has been normalized in the most vile manner,

Once I used to criticize the ghastly Disaffected Lib when he suggested that Trudeau should be raped in jail.

Now that hate is everywhere...

And it's becoming clear that this Con terrorist hostage taking has very little to do with vaccine mandates.
What's also clear is that if the police won't clear the streets decent Canadians will have to do it themselves.

We didn't ask for this horror show.

But the Cons are trying to take down our country.

So we are going to have to unite, and teach them a lesson they will never forget...

Some membrs of the Ottawa Police Board are blaming Trudeau for inaction. It’s not Trudeau’s place to act without Ford’s invitation. Someone needs a civics course refresher.

So Bill Blair says a lack of enforcement in Ottawa is "inexplicable." It's only inexplicable if you believe the cops are trying, but they're not. They're siding with the truckers. There's a ton of photos and videos on social media to back this up.

The cops attract rightist bullies at the best of times. They've faced a vaccine mandate themselves and some, like Doug Ford's son-in-law, have lost their jobs as a result. The cops have an agenda here and it's not law enforcement.

The collapse of the Ottawa police is no joke and politicians need to stop sugar-coating this. Ottawa chief Sloly served under Blair and it's Blair's job to know what's going on. Instead of calling the situation inexplicable, Blair should be leveling with the public and setting the ground for invoking the Emergencies Act and taking control.

The protester leaders have said they're looking to overturn the last federal election by force. I believe them. The Libs need to put down this rebellion immediately or they'll be playing whack-a-mole for the rest of their term. Cons and fascists only understand force.

    1. We, I fear, are entering a very scary stage in the great (though flawed... treatment of indigenous peoples) democratic experiment that has been this country's history. The longer this drags on, the more I am becoming certain that the police are on the side of Fascists. I don't have to explain how this works toward ending our peacable country as we know it. You all know. Am I over-reacting?

  3. Hi UU….They need more than a civics course refresher, they need a brain transplant. I have been deluged with comments from Con scum claiming that Trudeau caused the crisis, that he should be arrested etc etc. Luckily the fact is that Trudeau held the line, the trucker terrorists didn’t get him to back down an inch, and will soon be surrendering unconditionally. It doesn’t get any better than that….๐Ÿฅณ

  4. There's a lot of American right wing dark money at work here. Insurgents have been hooting their little horns for two weeks now and some may not get another job in an industry they have been embarrasing. The right wing nut job bribes have made it worthwhile for them.

Trump financiers don't care about what happens in Canada, but I suspect this is an experiment in their quest to take all power into their control. They are watching , taking notes and planning to use the same tactics in the next January 6th coup attempt. Harper, Sheer O'Tool and Petey are not just fellow travellers in an authoritarian plan but are usefull idiots for Koch, Prinze et al.

It truly pains me to say this, Simon, but I think it may be time for Justin to take a "walk in the snow" for the sake of the country. He's the only one in this mess who is respecting the law of the land but he's being forced to wear the mess because of it. And, as long as the toxic Trudeau hatred runs so deep no government he leads will be able to move forward from this. Might a new Lib leader disarm the hatred and keep Poilievre out?

Garth Turner made some uncomfortable points today on his blog. For one: "Pierre Poilievre decided to officially bring Trumpism to Canada.... We are being shredded politically. Every leader is damaged goods." And: "have you noticed the demographics? Yup, mostly white. Mainly guys." Then, referencing governments and their EDI policies: "others (like white dudes in trucks) feel left out".

I can't argue with his summary: "We’re playing with fire right now."

    Slow coup is right.
The law enforcement officers who fail to do their job should have their pensions taken away. Go be a mall cop.
Their lack of action is disgusting.
'Kettling' and 'provocateur' became common words after G20.
'Warning pamphlets' are the only action we're seeing here.
What a f-ing joke, but it's really not funny because citizens pay about of a third of all municipal taxes to police.

  7. Trudeau should not resign. And what, set Freeland up to be an even bigger target in the crosshairs? 1) she's a woman; 2) she'll face vitriol for all of the decisions and policies (including and especially those COVID-related) made under Trudeau's leadership while she was in cabinet (McGuinty/Wynne at the federal level); and 3) she'd be the most high-profile Ukrainian head of government other than Zelenskyy himself -- and she literally wrote the book on Putin's bagmen, so she knows where the bodies are buried and the bank accounts too! She'd need to move the PMO to a windowless office to avoid mysterious "skydiving incidents" (as similar situations in the UK have shown). At a time when the GOP is on the upswing and they being owned completely by the Kremlin, Canada would face even MORE risk!

Moreover, it would be the ultimate capitulation to hostage diplomacy, and anyone who knows anything about the man knows that he does not back down from a fight. The thugs would just be emboldened to do more of the same, or escalate, to get even more of what they want. PMJT himself would probably end up having to leave the country. as former PMs are not protected by security detail once out of office like our presidents have permanent Secret Service. Whenever he does down the road, he'll still have a target on his back for the rest of his life. So he might as well stare them down, win the next election on the back of a self-destructing CPC and then decide what he wants to do.

As for the who's who of organizers and dark money bankrollers of Operation Canadian Bacon, I say call a Royal Commission and start with the godfather himself. Harper must have a black book of black ops bigger than the Yellow Pages. Plunk his ass in the hot seat and thoroughly investigate everyone attached to the goddamned IDU.

UU, the feds don't need a provincial invitation to deal with a public order emergency, which is what we have in Ottawa. The Emergencies Act allows the federal parliament to prohibit public assemblies that may reasonably be expected to breach the peace and to designate and secure places. The feds are not allowed to interfere with a provincial response to the emergency, so it's best that they work together. The RCMP and OPP are already working together in Windsor, as the Ambassador bridge itself is federal jurisdiction while the surrounding roads are provincial/municipal.

Since Ford has already declared a provincial emergency, they have an interest in working together. The lawlessness in Ottawa doesn't look good on any level of government.

Interesting that Harper has been silent about this situation - as far as I am aware. He’s been the one former PM that has always commented when others have kept their distance.

  12. Trying to have a more "optimistic" look here. But the Ambassador Bridge has been cleared alot easier than I could expect. Plus, the police did it in a way that gave the CoupTruxKlan Clownvoy no chance for crying victimhood, and most probably got to pick up a lot of evidence to go knock on some doors later on.
These alt-white asswipes had been salivating for a direct confrontation with PMJT and are not getting it. Dog Ford had to reluctantly step in and do his damn job. Making no friends on either side.
The authorities have the means to put an end to it, including in Ottawa. But it looks like delaying action and emboldening the Clownvoy might have been an opportunity to gather plenty of intel and evidence on those Hillbilly insurrectionists for a better chance to serve a fatal blow to the terrorist movement; all while letting the idiots seriously damage their image and that of the treasonous Cons that threw their support at them.

I may be overthinking it, though.

Thanks for the picture of Cletus and Brandeen in the hot tub, Simon. Ugh! It reminded me of the turnips I had simmering on the stove earlier. I'll hazard a guess that the turnips had a much higher IQ than those two veggies.
I agree with Jackie 100% and highly doubt Justin will capitulate to a bunch of racist bullies, Martin. Let the Cletus convoy be the ones taking the walk in the snow or dragged through it if need be and straight into the paddy wagon. Seize and sell their rigs and hammer them with 100K fines for this occupation of our capital. Also, a year in jail should help them reevaluate their warped interpretation of freedom. They went too far when they interrupted Doug's skidoo vacation and now he's finally dithered up to the plate at the same speed as Chief Slowly handles an occupation. Let's not forget mayor Flotsam Watson who said he only had 3 days notice to prepare. Bullllllllllshit!!! He and Slowly had lots of time to prepare and they did the opposite of what should have been done. They expected the best and got the worst. I even emailed old Jimbo the Sunday before it started and told him not to let them into the downtown core. I got no reply and what ensued is an embarrassing mess of international proportions and entirely of their own making. What galls me the most is their inexplicable inability or more likely, their plan not to seal off the core and stop all fuel and supplies from getting to the occupiers. I can't wait to hear the excuse for that. And most telling was JT calling them out for their inaction. My guess is that he wouldn't have done that unless he had intel from the RCMP sent to help the OPS, that they were stalling or obstructing them from doing anything. It is all very shady and perplexing and the Feds better damn well do a thorough autopsy on all of this once the "plague rats in cowboy hats"(I see a country song there) have been thoroughly vanquished from our cities and border crossings.

  18. Hi Rumleyfips...The amount of right-wing dark money flowing into Canada to support this fascist insurrection is absolutely disgusting, as are all those Trump signs and American flags. It's as if they thought we Canadians were pushovers, and they could set up some kind of banana republic governed by their Con collaborators, where there would be no war on climate change, no medicare, etc etc. We are going to need to set up a major public inquiry to get to the bottom of this sordid plot....

  19. Hi Martin....I'm afraid I have to strongly disagree. If the bullies get their way with their ugly anti-Trudeau campaign, they will only be encouraged to turn their hatred on the person who succeeds him. Trudeau is still the most popular leader, he has done a good job of getting us through the pandemic, and he deserves to be rewarded not punished for what he has done, and for upholding our Canadian values in the face of foul Con behaviour. Trudeau sometimes frustrates me, I wish he would lose his temper more often. But he is doing the right and Canadian thing, and history will recognize that he put his enemies to shame...

  20. Hi anon@7:06 PM.... The behaviour of some police officers has been so appalling it borders on treason. They are supposed to uphold the law, not cater to those who have been making a mockery out of it. And after what has happened we need a serious inquiry to weed out the cowards and the traitors. However being reduced to a mall cop is not enough for me. They should be handed a whistle and a STOP sign and only allowed to be crossing guards. If we can be assured that they won't kill any children...

  21. Hi UU....I've been demanding that Ford resign for a long long time. I blame him for what he was trying to do to our medicare system before the pandemic caught him with his pants down to his ankles. I also blame him for the way he allowed our long term care homes to degrade, which led to the deaths of so many elderly and vulnerable people. And the way he allowed the trucker fascists to do what they wanted, while he went snowmobiling, is the last straw. As for Harper, he wouldn't dare say a thing. He's too much of a coward to call for moderation, and you can be sure he'd love to see Trudeau strung up by a mob for daring to defeat him...

  22. Hi Brian...I don't think you are overreacting. I never thought that our Canadian police could side with fascists against our country and its values. But now I just don't know, and I don't think we can rule anything out. However, I have been very encouraged by the way the good people of Ottawa have been getting together to stand up to those trucker terrorists, and if necessary we will all have to follow their example from one end of the country to the other. For the Con fascists will not have our country, not now, not ever...

There is no doubt that if the mob was a group of greenies or natives the police would have cracked skulls and the protest would be long over. But so far response to the Freeumb occupation has played out like a show written for the Key Stone cops. Its not that the police are incompetent or planning a coup but instead are ineffectual because they are conflicted between duty and their inner voice whispering Con supported bullshit. Vaccinations are ba ba bad, Trudeau is ba ba bad because he forced me to get vaccinated to keep my job, the chicks now rule the force and body cams take the fun out of educating targeted minorities. Like the Key Stones they are proud to be relics of the past so hopefully when this is over the 20 percenters will join it or at least find a new occupation because they are much too biased for effective law enforcement. This is not a new problem but surprising they decided to overtly rub our faces in it. The small group of supporting accelerationists bent on destroying democracy at any cost must be dancing with glee at how well this is working out. Its amazing that Cons like Bergen, Ford and Kenney are too self absorbed to realise they are part of the System that this movement is out to destroy. Past politicians used to know that it was a bad idea to let anarchists into the tent but not so with these modern day bozos.

  24. Hi Carl....I don't think you are overthinking anything, and have every right to be optimistic. Police took too long to clear the Ambassador Bridge, but when they finally moved in they did a great job. And as you say, they did it without making martyrs out of those holding us hostage, and trying to damage our economy and interrupt our food supply. In Ottawa the trucker terrorists are still holding out. But Trudeau is still there, they got no concessions from him, so all they have managed to accomplish is to make Ford look bad, and further debase the Harper Cons. As I told the others, I believe we need a serious inquiry to expose what the terrorists were really after, and where all that money came from...

  25. Hi JD....Yes, the sight of those trucker thugs soaking in a hot tub, while the people of Ottawa suffered, was the absolute limit. It showed their absolute contempt for their fellow Canadians. And what's worse, the Ottawa police clowns had solemnly assured the population that the best way to get rid of the terrorists was to make them feel "uncomfortable." And still they allowed that? Honestly, I've never seen anything more pathetic. As for Mayor Watson he too has failed his people, by making some kind of absurd deal with the occupiers, instead of demanding their unconditional surrender. But as you say, we need a complete inquiry into this fascist farce, and I'm hoping the rot it will reveal will drown the Con rats in that hot tub...

Minister Freeland is way, way smarter than these guys; what are the Convoy Crazies going to do without money? Their bank accounts will all be frozen and even if they get crypto-currency assets, those have to be monetized into cash through bank or trading systems.

Well see how fast "I'm not going anywhere" turns into "Yeah, I'm fucked and I'm out" once the cash stops coming in. I'm expecting the convoy initiators to be the first to turn tail.

I fear that the main goal of this insurgency is to kill Justin Trudeau, we have no idea what is in all those trucks parked close to the Prime Minister's Office, so we can't be too careful. And if those trucks have to be moved, I believe the army may be the only ones who can do it. May it not come to that...
