Why The Anti-Vaxxers Will Now Have To Behave Themselves

When I saw the anti-vaxxers marching down the waterfront last summer, with their kooky Con signs and their crosses, at first I didn't take them seriously.

All I wanted to do was laugh at them, and maybe even douse them with a bucket of cold water.

But when I saw how aggressive they were becoming, I started to despise them.

And when I saw them threatening and trying to intimidate exhausted healthcare workers I got really angry.

So now I'm with Heather Mallick who asks this question:

Will we ever forgive the deliberately unvaccinated for having helped spread a disease that killed and disabled so many, devastating the economy, leaving many of us jobless and wretched?

Will we ever look on them gently when their casual choices left us unable to hold a loved one as she died? When a young woman with stage 4 colon cancer had her surgery postponed for the third time because hospitals are packed with unvaccinated COVID-19 patients at death’s door?

And my answer is NO, and NEVER.

Their behaviour has been too disgusting...

The fervently unmasked attack the masked in public, often violently or in racist terms. We see it on airplanes, at corner stores and on the subway, citizen journalists compiling mixtapes of ugly scenes, the kind of thing you will find in museums 50 years from now showing how humans behaved in 2022.

Too ugly and too crazy...

For neither will I ever forgive the cowardly Con Erin O'Toole who believed it was more important to try to save his own skin, than try to help save the lives of Canadians.

Or since I live in Ontario, never can I forgive the equally cowardly Con Doug Ford who failed the people of that province in every possible way.

And instead of cracking down on the anti-vaxxers, ran for cover like O'Toole did...

It was Premier Doug Ford’s responsibility to get everyone vaccinated, N95-masked, and kept safe in schools, on transit, and in the cities and towns of Ontario. He didn’t do it.

For the same reason.

Ford will not punish the unvaccinated, the dim, the cruel, the easily led, the mean-eyed people who cherish the freedom to harm others. Does he consider them his base? If so, who speaks for the rest of us?

And the same can be said about the depraved Jason Kenney...

Who played dirty Con games to pleasure himself and his base, even as people in that province got sick and died in large numbers.

Who could ever forgive those bestial Cons?

And the good news?

The Covidiots are about to be held responsible for their crimes against our heroic healthcare workers...

And it couldn't come soon enough.

For our poor healthworkers are in really bad shape...

So on behalf of the ones I know. and  love, I just want to say this:

Thank you Justin Trudeau...

And this too.

When a real leader was needed to take on the Con murderclowns

Give thanks that he put Canada and Canadians first.

And was there to save us...

Funny you mention Ford, you really think Del Duca has a chance?

You ought to thank Wynne, after all she’s done for the OLP what Rae did to the ONDP.

This new law does nothing to protect healthcare workers. It was already a crime to block access to a hospital and intimidate, harass, threaten, or assault healthcare workers. It was already a crime to cause a disturbance in a public place by yelling, shouting, or otherwise disturbing public peace.

The problem was always getting police to enforce the law. As long as police forces provide a safe haven for right-wing thugs and sympathizers, the new law won't be any more effective than the old one. Compare police reaction to right- wing anti-vax demonstrations and left-wing anti-G20 demonstrations. Which resulted in the closure of large parts of downtown TO, the gross violation of civil liberties, the kettling of innocent bystanders and the detention of hundreds in appalling conditions? Yet which demonstrations are more dangerous to public health and safety? We won't make progress against anti-vaxxers until police who won't enforce the law face discipline.

  4. Sigh. True that the US is no picnic, and likely to get even worse when Trump returns. As an American myself I have made the case for Canada finding some way of detaching somewhat from the elephant's shadow. Ending the Pusmedia bailout would be a good start. But I digress.

To suggest that PMJT is somehow wasting Canadians' time with "bullshit" by teaming with Western allies (fairweather friends though they might be) against the far, far, far worse menaces of Vlad the Impaler Putin and Ping Pong Pooh Bear, is at best foolish and at worst seditious. Have to say, though, I'm quite impressed by the cogent level of argumentation in your article:

"Justin Trudeau, our air-head pretty boy prime minister ... is either a really, really stupid air-head or he's a callous racist prick."

Top-notch rhetoric that's sure to win an Oxford debate... on a preschool playground. Points off, however, for omitting the requisite modifiers of "poopy-head," "stinky-butt," and "Farty McFartface."

This is why nobody takes you ornery, juvenile tankies seriously. Might I suggest that you please stop wasting Simon's time and that of other commenters here with your own credulous bullshit. Food for thought that's been rotting in the back of the refrigerator.

Now, back on the topic of the article: Canada is fortunate to have the judiciary and executive/legislative in the hands of common sense. Down here, the SCOTUS decision to place public health on the backburner, in favour of a bad-faith interpretation of "federal overreach" on Biden's vaccine mandate for workplaces, was appalling. I am so sick and tired of these selfish gits and their crap about "muh liberteez". They have zero regard for the liberties of others who don't want to get sick. I wish we could have a law like C-3 barring these terrorists from harassing healthcare workers and patients. It would never fly here because of the ossified worship of the US constitution as a religious text, and the zealotry that surrounds "muh freedumb of speach".

The callous stupidity of our American murderclowns like Wrongful DeathSantis and Boof Kavanaugh offers a cautionary tale to Canada to never (again) elect their equivalents up north, and to send the ones who are already in office to the unemployment line.

And speaking of which, for Anon 7:48 who I'm going to assume for all intents and purposes is the same Anon clown from three minutes later, of course Del Duca has a chance. So does Horwath (albeit minimal) and so does Ford, who will have to campaign on his pathetic record and at the very least will not have the cakewalk he was hoping for.

Ontarians should be thanking Wynne for a lot of things that unfortunately were put on hold or reversed when Doug's murderclowns crashed in. But if they're smart and have enough buyers' remorse, they'll extend their gratitude even more so and apologize to her, by returning the provincial Liberals to office, and bidding farewell to the Doug Thugs and the categorically useless NDP.

  5. Hi anon@7:51PM....No. Nothing Thwap writes is any way interesting. It's boring tripe written by a dilapidated geezer, who is a raging misogynist, and vile homophobe, and he has nothing to say about anything to anyone. Although I see he is now not only an absurd toxic Trudeau hater, but also a supporter of the dictatorial regimes in Russia and China. So his dementia is now a REAL problem, and sadly makes him even more of a loser. Please leave him alone, I doubt he'll be around for much longer...

  6. Hi anon@7:48 PM...I guess your head is so buried in your cavernous posterior that you haven't read any polls recently. But the ones I've read have the OLP not looking half bad:

    OLP: 36% (+16)
    PCPO: 35% (-6)
    ONDP: 22% (-12)
    GPO: 5% (-)
    Others: 2%

While the Cons are tanking. And if NDP supporters vote strategically, the Fordzilla could hit the ground with a sickening thud. And the party will last for weeks....

  7. Hi anon@8:58PM....I agree with you, the police must enforce the new law. But now that we have a law specifically aimed at protecting healthcare workers that should be a lot easier. And if they don't they will have to answer for it. But please don't compare the present situation to the G20 police riot, because I was there, and the two situations have nothing in common. The anti-vaxxers are causing the deaths of many Canadians, they are intimidating health workers, and threatening to swamp our hospitals, and they must be stopped by whatever means necessary...

  8. Hi Jackie....Thanks for batting down those trolls, who have been buzzing around me like mosquitos all day. Honestly, the Cons are now so desperate they are even defending the Russian and Chinese dictators. Who are they working for I wonder? I have no time for NATO myself, but somebody should tell poor old Thwap and his faithful troll that the dictators are threatening to nuke us, so they should return to the musty holes and start turning them into air raid shelters. And at least do themselves some favours...

My thought exactly I think the Liberals sucombed to the "Urge to Legislate". Someone at StatCan years ago was planning on writing a book about this. He saw it as a response to a frustrating situation as much or more than a need to be seen to be doing things. "We are legislators, so damn it, let's legislate!"

Kenney gleefully riding the Corona bull sums it all up, the only thing missing is an ICU ward or a cemetery amongst the rubble in the background. My favourite is still with him posing as a wannabee cold-hearted hooker; it was a sign of things to come. Perhaps a Kenney pin up calendar would be in order with the proceeds donated to the Alberta heritage fund. Unlike Norway they are certainly going to need the money when the oily bubble eventually bursts and the leeches move on.

  11. Hi jrkrideau... The same Con troll recommended a Thwap post to me a few months ago, and it turned out to be a long and disgusting rant aimed at me. Homophobic, misogynistic, you name it. So I really should have deleted his latest recommendation as soon as it arrived in my inbox. But I didn't because Thwap is an intelligent person, and once, long ago, I used to enjoy his posts. But unfortunately, like so many in this country, he came to think of Trump as some kind of messiah, so he has fallen far. And is definitely NOT a well rounded personality... ;)

  12. Hi RT.... I used to monitor Keeney more closely when he was in the Ottawa orbit, but everything I've read about his Alberta adventure has only convinced me that he is rotten to the core. Unlike other Con Premiers like Ford and Moe, he is reasonably intelligent, but has a cruel inner streak that should have warned people that he was too dangerous to lead Alberta, or any province, through a deadly pandemic. I hope that one day he pays a heavy price for his many crimes against Canada, for there are a lot of dead people who deserve justice...

Simon, Kenney is a monster who is proud that his actions led to gay men dying alone in hospices in the 1980s, denied visits from their partners. He was so extreme that the archbishop of San Francisco had to put some daylight between the church and him. Kenney should have been run out of politics years ago. The fact that he rose to such power speaks to the darkness at the heart of the conservative movement.

  15. Hi anon@6:19PM....I've heard of that story, and I agree with you it makes Kenney a monster. Along with his thirty year chastity vow, I honestly believe that it shows him to be a self loathing homosexual. He would torture others as he would torture himself. It must be awful to be Jason Kenney, and when he finally loses power I think he is going to be very miserable indeed...

  16. Hi Jackie...I realize I'm beat, I had to help a couple of neighbours dig out there cars. But when I saw that the Lobster Man was calling Kenney courageous I must have stared at the screen for what seemed like a minute, in total disbelief. How absolutely obscene, calling a man like Kenney courageous when he is the most miserable Con coward, and responsible for mass suffering and mass death in Alberta's long LTCs. As for Peterson, I have always considered him an absolute asshole, but the way he has been popping up everywhere can only mean that he is losing his marbles again. Time for another rest cure in Russia...

For the Anon dunking on Del Duca, read Scrimshaw's column on the topic. If Del Duca stays visible and keeps his sights on Ford, he can win at least a minority. Remember that Ontario is either a Conservative fiefdom, as it was in much of the 80s, or it's a Liberal fiefdom, as it was in the 90s. The NDP just drain votes away from LPC. Andrea Horwath is pretty useless and her strident tone just grates on me. But she may hold the balance of power, G-- save our souls.

Speaking of redemption tours, seeing Dougie shovelling snow today while doing reckless driving (on a Zoom call with media while driving his car) was pretty...something. Something out of the Blues Brothers maybe, except we can't send Ford to Joliet, sadly.

O'Toole is lost as usual. He was on local radio spouting inane stuff and blaming he prime minister. This won't work and won't attract people outside his base. MacDougall is correct: O'Toole needs to move beyond the red meat for his base and into some coherent policy outlooks. Even if he copypastad the Frasier Institute's policies on health and social welfare, it would be something...not something appealing or acceptable to a majority of Canadians, but something...

Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau must be laughing in his Chewbacca socks. Navigating a 4th-5th wave while various provinces implode, with Jagmeet Singh turning his orange turban blue and the Bloc unwilling to go to the polls, so forcibly friends with the LPC.

Going to be a fun 2023, that's for sure...

This has been known for ages. Stories about Baird and Kenney being served by Palestinian boy-men while on the Israel trip were pretty common knowledge. He hates what he is so he wants to stop others (like you) from reaching max potential. Shame shame shame.

That's great news, Simon. All we need now is that the police enforce it to the full extent of the law and if they don't, demote and/or fire them. It would also help if we actually had a premier with a set of balls. Compared to Legault, Doug's balls are ten sizes too small. He should be leading by example by demanding that our police forces deal with the covidiots by locking the fuckers up and/or nailing them with a huge fine and criminal record. I wont hold my breath on that one though. Ugh Ford is too busy playing politics and Heather is right, he doesn't want to lose his base of covidiots. Playing politics is the only consistent thing Ford has done during the entire pandemic while everything else he touches turns to shit.
I'm at the point in this pandemic where I've simply had it with these covidiots and Micheal Coren's latest column is one of the many reasons why. https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/2022/01/17/theres-no-vaccination-against-human-cruelty.html
May God forbid if any of these assholes ever tries to impede me in any way. I too have rights and freedoms that go far beyond those of the covidiots and I'll defend them to the very end against the real enemy of the people.

  20. @Pierre D. -- re: Baird and Kenney, that is absolutely revolting, and shame on Canadian media for maintaining omertá in the face of such horrors. Not surprised in the least, as after all, we know that Lord Conman of Alcatraz and his trashy wife were chummy with dirty old Jeff and Madam Maxwell. Open the books and take Postmedia down.

Something must be done to have a #metoo reckoning in Canada that doesn't involve WK's perverse nonsense about Trudeau's teaching career or his marriage or any of the other dreck that pops up on social media. Some idiot was getting ratioed last week for accusing him of an affair with his photographer. Whatever happened to Blanchet and Dis Son Nom? Did PKP run interference or something?

A young man active on Twitter who was a former comms staffer with CMOH during the Eves/Harris era has credibly accused Baird and Navigator's Jamie Watt of sexual harassment. I believe it escalated to the level of assault, and the gaslighting on top drove him to a breakdown. He threatened to go public when Baird was contemplating a run. He spoke with several journalists, and so they know this about Watt as well, but the papers continue to publish his tripe. The Star of all places. Atkinson must be rolling in his grave.

As for Trudeau, I just watched a few minutes of a Curse of Politics segment and was astonished to hear Jenny say that Trudeau remains the best asset to the Liberal Party. (Well, I didn't actually listen. I had the subtitles on.) The panel seemed unanimously unimpressed with Wells, another tired windbag who is well past his best before date. But Harper must sting to hear her say that. Made me smile. And I hope he is comfy in those Chewbacca socks, because the CPC bullpen isn't much to write home about either...

  21. Hi Pierre….Yes, the future is looking Good, unless you’re a Con…

, Justin Trudeau must be laughing in his Chewbacca socks. Navigating a 4th-5th wave while various provinces implode, with Jagmeet Singh turning his orange turban blue and the Bloc unwilling to go to the polls, so forcibly friends with the LPC.

As for Jason Kenney, like so many other Cons he is such a hypocrite. But as I said in my post, his life is his harshest punishment. It’s so pathetic. And it will almost certainly end in scandal….

  22. Hi JD…..Doug Ford is always calling for the poor and the homeless to be arrested, but when it comes to the anti-vaxxers who threaten us all, he is as mute as a 400lb carp. As Coren says, there is no vaccine against human cruelty, but we can use our votes to quarantine the Cons from power, hopefully forever. If you think of it that way, and consider how the pandemic has made the Cons look like murder clown 🤡 when it’s finally over, there will be something to say for the horror we have endured. It has showed Canadians who the Cons really are, and now it’s up to us to make sure that they are dumped into the garbage can of history…
