Trudeau Slams Scheer Over the Pizzagate Scandal

Yesterday I wrote about how Andrew Scheer was asked a question about the far right-wing conspiracy theory known as Pizzagate.

And how despite the fact the Con crowd in the room loudly applauded that question, he claimed not to have heard it, while his handlers pleaded ignorance.

Scheer's press secretary told CBC News today the Conservative leader "does not keep up with paranoid, American alt-right conspiracy theories and as such was not familiar with the term until it came up in the questioning today."

Which since he has used other alt-right conspiracy theories to whip up a murderous hatred against Justin Trudeau, just made Scheer look like a liar. Again.

So I'm glad to see that Justin Trudeau has finally decided to go after Scheer.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has criticized Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer over his response to a man who invoked the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory at a town hall in Kitchener, Ont. this week.

Trudeau didn’t accept the explanation, saying Saturday that Scheer showed “that he simply doesn’t hear or doesn’t notice intolerant comments.”

Slamming that creepy Con for attending the yellow vest rally on Parliament Hill, that was riddled with bigots and right-wing extremists.

“If there’s one thing we need to do as Canadians, [it is to] be vigilant about the intolerant and extremist voices coming from all sides and stay true to the values of respect and openness that have served us so well as a country,” Trudeau said.

Even mocking Scheer's fake town halls.

“It would be nice if he let the actual public into these town halls, but that’s another thing,” Trudeau said.

And all I can say is hallelujah, thank you Polar Bear God of the Great White North, it's about time.

Justin Trudeau has been too nice for too long to Scheer and his bigot Cons who have heaped vile abuse at him, or targeted him with thousands of death threats.

While the slobbering Con media ignores those threats, focus all their attention on the fake scandal.

And the toxic Trudeau haters including some "progressives" waddle around around in a state of high arousal screaming, "I hate Trudeau so much I don't care if Scheer wins !!!!!!!!!"

AAAAARGH !!#@!

And yes, enough is enough.

The upcoming election campaign will not be fought over a fake scandal, that the Cons and their grotesque stooges in the media are trying to make sound like the biggest story EVER.

It will be a choice between a leader who can best defend our country and its values. Defend everything from women's rights, to our medicare system.

From the Con beasts and the far-right extremists who would destroy them.

So I hope you're as ready as I am.

Justin Trudeau is putting on the gloves at last.

And the Battle for Canada is about to begin in earnest...

Yes!!! It's about time indeed, Simon. Let's hope that this is just the beginning of JT slowly and methodically deconstructing the charade known as Scheer Nonsense. Lord knows he's got enough ammunition at his disposal to expose Scheer's hideous love affair with the alt-right hate mongers and his bullshit laden narratives.
Given the swarming JT has endured over the fake scandal, I couldn't think of a better way for him to blow off a little steam while informing Canadians of what awaits them if Scheer is allowed to lie and cheat his way to power.

Hi Simon, I believe this is the link and the only one I could find that you were referring to for JT slamming Scheer.

    2. Hi JD....thank you for correcting that link. I had it on my computer but I was so beat after helping to fix a friend's boat, that I went straight to bed after posting that story. And the next morning I was too busy watching the English Premier League soccer games, I didn't check it until I saw your note. So thanks again, I'm still blushing. As for your other comment, I too hope that Justin Trudeau can start attacking the Cons instead of treating them so politely. I like his decency, but war is war, and decency can look like weakness....

No worries Simon. It's the only link I've had to correct you on since I began following you five years ago. As track records go, that's pretty damn good. Besides, in Con speak, you simply miswrote it or used alternate cut and pasting:)

    1. Nah, it's an election year, this is when you start going after the other guy directly. Hopefully this is the first sign of something more. "Positive politics" is only half the battle; you can't debate platforms when your opponent doesn't have one because he's counting on destroying you rather than coming up with alternatives of his own. See: Ontario, except in Andy's case "Buck-a-Beer" sounds bitter in the original German.

If JT is worried about anything, it's the fact that Andy's gotten away with being Trump/Cruz North for all this time and nobody's holding his feet to the fire on it. Certainly not like they scorch JT's socks all night and day and even went all in for a Trughazi/Butter Emails "scandal" instead of giving proper due diligence to Andy's turn at a would-be Charlottesville on the grounds of Parliament. He probably realizes that he has to be the one to do the media's job of alerting Canadians to Andy's fascist tendencies, because they sure as hell don't seem to care. Look at how they whined about "partisanship" when Wernick expressed concern that people would get shot. They didn't even bother to check out the yellow vest forums or the CPC's official FB page or the replies to literally every Twitter account belonging to a LPC cabinet minister or JT himself. If they did, they'd see exactly the vomitorium that Wernick described. A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Sad that the PM has to take up one more mantle in addition to everything else: that of a psychiatrist practicing "duty to warn." But the fourth estate has become a fifth column, and doesn't seem to care what happens to Canadians or who the mainstream Conservatives have become or who they're chumming around with, as long as they get their tax cuts, their bailout, and plenty of ROI on their O&G investments without the cumbersome nuisance of having to give a damn about the planet. They just don't want to have a Trudeau to kick around anymore.

But he's not going away quietly. In fact, he has no intent of going away at all. If they won't kick around Andy, he'll just have to do it for them. And, like Natan Obed did yesterday, kick them by default, showing everyone how they're not doing their job because they have an agenda to push.

He's calling Andy's bluff. He's also allowing Max to fill in for where Andy comes across as weak. Andy pleads plausible deniability and ignorance of the fringe conspiracy theories, so that puts the ball in Max's court to take a "principled stand" and announce that he WILL prosecute the Clinton Foundation and the Trudeau Foundation for selling Uranium One to the lizard people! The base sees Max as alpha; the moderates see Trudeau as the only sane one, and Weak Andy is left to look like the spineless coward he is. Too weak to confront them and too weak to "talk about the Great Awakening" in an open forum. Justin to the left of him, Max to the right, here's Weak Andy, stuck in the middle with Q.

    2. Hi Jackie....yes, I agree. I'm quite sure that Justin would like to continue being the nice guy he really is. And if the Media weren't such Con stooges he could continue on his sunny way. But since the Con stooges are attacking him like rabid hyenas, while allowing Scheer to get away with murder, he has no choice but to put on the gloves, and start handing out some punishment. Not only will it feel good, but it will also force the media to pay attention. So yes, it's about time....

  3. The fake news lying sad dopey loser witch hunt media is still having a hatewank over Jody's crying fit? Oh, get over yourselves and STFU. It was a tale told by a shrew, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Let's get on with the real issues, of chief importance being Andy's "vested interest" in violent hate groups and the alt-right. I'm glad to see the gloves finally come off. Maybe allowing Andy to go on for this long playing fascist footsie with the QMorons and the yellow pests was Justin's rope-a-dope strategy all along. I sure hope so! Down with the Rebel scum stormtroopers! May the Force be with the young Jedi as he prepares to strike back!!!

No matter how often something gets repeated doesn't make it any less true or false.
For example the government repeating the taking points of SNC doesn't make the 9000 jobs loss any less of a lie.
Then again you can't have humility and Liberal in the sentence. They're so high on their own supply, it doesn't occur to them, they could be overreaching. The Natural Governing Party is not meant as a compliment.
Anyhow, most people are concerned over Lavscam. The Pizzagate thing, not so much...

You are only half right about the 9000 jobs "lie". Canada has top line engineering talent but they benefit from being part of a global network where they can expand their learning horizons in a very competitive complex engineering world. With the best talent gone, small home based companies can compete sometimes but for other projects we will have to buy in the talent in typical Con visionary "hewers of wood and drawers of oily water" fashion.

  6. Andy's little pizza bite has caught fire and JT is now being accused of being a pedophile on top of everything else. SNC was a Trojan horse. The media has now taken to interviewing Celina's husband about JT supposedly "yelling" at her. They've gone full TMZ. This is their Diana in a tunnel moment. There's nothing more to learn and they won't admit their own mea culpa, so they have to chew on every angle now to bring him down and destroy him as a PERSON. It really is a witch trial, a public crucifixion. The mob has gotten out of control. Now with the conspiratorial allegations against Trudeau and the dialed up venom coming out against the female cabinet ministers who've expressed support for him, I fully expect violence within a short time. Thanks a lot, Jody, Jane and Bob Fife. You started a nationwide lynch mob.

A staged town hall meeting complete with screened questions, scripted responses and clapping seals. What could go wrong? It seem a whole lot if the leader can't walk and chew gum at the same time or even if he avoids chewing gum he ends up tripping over his own shoelaces.
The question: Yada yada ... Trudeau wasting money on refugees how about helping our own instead ... Yada Yada ...for example monetary contributions to Clinton and the well document pizzagate scandal. Wild clapping on the pizzagate comment but the wannabe leader is not listening as he is rehearsing his answer to the prescreened Trudeau wasting money question. Clapping subsides .. time to deliver the propaganda designed to reach moderate leaning Conservative voters with a smidgen of social conscience. Scheer answer: Trudeau has all kinds of pet projects that waste tax dollars such as promoting anti pipeline activists, we love legal refugees but those Trudeau sponsored elite jet setting refugees that fly into the US and jump the queue by illegally crossing into Canada are a scourge that I am going to fix. All lies but the only giveaway was the clapping seals in response to the pizzagate comment preceding his soliloquy. The man can't even pull off his own well planned scam so how can he ever run a country! The answer is he cannot but when its all about creative destruction a Trumpian disciple is king.

    1. Hi RT....I thought the loud clapping that followed that kooky guys question spoke volumes about the state of the Cons, who are now more Trumpling than Canadians. And Scheer's non answer tells me he knows that, and is trying to hide it. Which not only makes him look like a sleazy liar again, it makes him dangerous. We have seen what happened in Ontario, and Scheer would be ten times worse than Ford. Our Canada as we know it is on the edge of extinction, and we cannot allow that to happen...

    Hi Simon,
Thanks again for the constant blogging, it gives me hope.
Have you all noticed how ANthony Furey, J.J. McCullough and the rest are in a tizzy over Mr. Wenick staying on the Election monitoring position?
    I wonder why that is?

    1. Andy/Hamish just opened up a Rebel data-harvesting website where people can sign up to "demand Trudeau let Jody rebut Butts" (aka have their information siphoned up by the CPC), and the national broadcaster is promoting it. Canadians live in a banana republic. The interference isn't foreign. It's the Fourth Estate acting as a fifth column, and the call is coming from the right side of the House.

Along with other Canadians I have written to the Washington Post on at least two occasions, to demand that McCullough be fired. And hopefully one day our campaign will be successful....

  9. Trudeau doesn't deserve these troubles. But right now the native son is looking like a martyr in the Distinct Society while the ROC looks dumb as fuck. Everyone is getting spun into such a ridiculous frenzy over nonstop tabloid-quality media coverage and the absurd victim narrative of the Wicked Witch of the West's alternative facts. None of these bad-faith actors -- Angus, Raitt, Scheer -- liked Jody or her gal pals until they became useful stooges to attack Trudeau. Since when are DPAs a feminist issue? This whole thing is a cynically-exploited, politically-contrived scam to hit Trudeau on the PR front. Comparing it to rape is the absolute epitome of disgusting. And let's not pretend that the toothless hicks in Oilberta wouldn't be begging a Harper or Scheer to do the same thing to save their elementary-school dropout six-fig-on-a-rig jobs. 100% hypocritical bullshit.

In fact, this whole fiasco is igniting so much anger in Québec that it'll probably ignite the separatist movement again -- and from what I've seen in the contrast between the garbage Con media and the more levelheaded analysis in QC, I hope they go through with it. Much like California has flirted with its own secessionist movements to shake off the albatross of the red-state morons and the Electoral College, QC might very well be better off on its own not getting dragged down by the prairie rednecks and Ford Nation. Let the Ottawa bubble rot in the dark. Hey, who knows, maybe Justin will abandon his and Pierre's federalist sentiment, face off with Anglo Andy over another referendum (third time's the charm?) and say, "I was for Québexit before it was cool."

There isn't a damn thing anyone could say to convince me at this point that this is not a coordinated Schmear campaign. Vive le Trudeau! Vive la belle province!

Good points, Jackie. If SNC were based anywhere west of Quebec the outrage would have been a few whimpers at best as opposed to the unhinged and frankly embarrassing reporting we're getting now. They could care less about jobs in Quebec because they hate Quebec. I hear it often here in Ontario, people pissing and moaning about Quebec this, Quebec that, wah, wah, wah. They need to get a grip and quit blaming everyone but themselves for their shitty existence. Better yet, how about the six fig rig pigs ask their Con leaders that why, after ruling Oilberta for over forty years, they suddenly find that no one wants their tarry bubbly unless it's practically given to them. I guess blaming JT or Rachel Notley is much easier than being able to see the writing on the wall and doing something about it. Netflix may have created it but Alberta's past Con leaders have been running the province much like their own version of the birdbox challenge.

      Hi JD

Good points about Oilberta but it looks like they are gearing up for another round of self inflicted wounds. Pumping twice as much oil compared to 10 years ago with fewer workers and essentially no royalties partially because they pegged it to the price lottery... around 1% if price below $55 per barrel up to 9% if over $100 per barrel. Blame Trudeau when the price is low praise the Cons when it is high. Meanwhile Norway, another oil producer approximately the same size has a rainy day fund approaching 1 trillion ... got the idea from the Alberta Heritage fund in the 80's. Bless the Cons for saving us from all that social malaise that Norway has to endure.

  10. I highly doubt Justin will abandon his dyed-in-the-wool federalist outlook. If we ever become an independent country others will be in the leadership.

I just wanted to add a column from Montréal humourist Josh Freed: I think he has nailed the situation better than anyone else: https://montrealgazette.com/opinion/columnists/josh-freed-why-quebecers-are-unimpressed-by-the-snc-blahvalin-scandal

Like Josh, I don't think it is a fake scandal, but it is a minor and unimpressive one, and suspect it will blow over. I wasn't even interested in discussing it: I hate Scheer, and am not a Trudeau admirer.

I'll read the piece cited above about Pizzagate, because I know nothing about a Canadian pizzagate (other than far more real scandals within the restaurant industry, between serial sexual harassment and assaut and the many pizzerias various factions of the underworld have set on fire or blown up ... and the real scandal of PINEAPPLE on pizza).

To my mind Pizzagate refers to a nutty scandal in the US about Hillary Clinton's purported paedophile ring... in the basement of a pizzeria that doesn't have a basement.

  11. Hi Lagatta...thank you for onpassing Josh Freed's column. I know Josh, although I haven't seen him in years, and he is a really nice guy. I think he sums up the situation perfectly, and as a Montrealer he speaks to me. There are so many other real problems we need to be worried about in this country, and if you are such an inflexible purist you should join the church. What he doesn't mention is that a lot of the Con indignation is actually anti-Quebec bigotry. But that's OK, after this the bigot West could fall into the Pacific Ocean and I wouldn't give a damn. And the more this country bothers me the better Scotland looks.... 😉

Very few people here had much to say about the issue either way; lots of shoulder-shrugging. People are much more interested in Catherine Fournier leaving the PQ caucus to sit as an "indépendantiste indépendante".

The only thing I'd add is that Andrew Scheer comes off not only as somewhat deranged but also frankly not very bright in his pizzagate comments - one of the most ludicrous and harmful pieces of fake news in recent decades. Someone even shot up the pizzeria - hope nobody was killed or injured.

Either Trudeau or someone else in his caucus should jump on that.
