Why Does The Con Media Hate Justin Trudeau So Much?
Well it's now been two days since the Con media went after Justin Trudeau for allegedly sabotaging a trade deal by missing a meeting.
In what can only be described as a pig wrestling contest.
Which as you know ended badly, with our porky media looking like idiots.
Since they revealed their blatant bias, and blew what was left of their credibility out of the water, they have been keeping a very low profile hoping no doubt that nobody noticed.
But I who did notice, keep getting asked the same haunting question.
Why do they hate Justin Trudeau so much?
And the only rational explanation I can think of is the one I mentioned the other day:
They are desperate to please their corporate masters...
And I also believe angry at the Liberals for not giving them the money to save their failing media organizations.
But the puzzling part is while that might explain the behaviour of the boys at Postmedia...
Who are truly desperate, and getting ready to swim for their lives.
It doesn't explain why the CBC, which is already funded with our tax dollars, is so biased.
Or why people like Rosemary Barton might as well be working for the Conservative Broadcasting Corporation...
Or why their so-called CBC Opinions page is a right-winger's dream.
The number of National Post contributors who are at home at CBC Opinions is cause for concern. If the current brou-ha-ha about Julie Payette is any indication, CBC Opinions is apparently a location where the rage industry can trigger responses from every white guy writer at the National Post who sees the Rat Signal.
And resembles a branch of the National Post, where left-wing writers are practically verboten.
But while it's easy to blame that on the fact the CBC Opinions producer is Robyn Urback an uber right wing asshole who once worked for the Post...
And who was recently seen trashing Julie Payette.
In a manner that would have pleased Ezra Levant, or pleasured the religious fanatic Andrew Scheer...
Who strangely enough is never criticized in the pages of CBC Opinions, despite his misogyny, his homophobia, or the way he lies like a thief.
I think what best explains the behaviour of our grubby parliamentary media is its incestuous nature.
Ottawa is a small town, it's easy to get bored.
Or sleep with each other's spouses.
And even easier to see yourself as part of a small beleaguered group standing up for your friends who are about to lose their jobs.
And easy to start demanding, in your mind at least, that the Liberals pay up, or ELSE.
In the manner of the Three Musketeers, or whatever....
And all I can say is if that does explain why our ratty Con media is so biased, and why they seem so eager to jump on the Liberals and gnaw away at them, they are playing with fire.
For they are corrupting our democracy. They are offending the wishes of most Canadians. They are behaving like a Con cult.
And it will only take one to break the vow of silence.
And they'll all go down together....
Agreed on a lot, I just want to note that the ashley madison/Ottawa story is nonsense. What happened is that every federal government employee, including the military, cra, etc, all have their internet routed through ottawa. So every cheating spouse who sensibly(?) Didn't use their home internet showed up there.
ReplyDeleteHi Aweb...I only included the Ashley Madison line as a joke. It's about the third time I've done that so I must restrain myself, and stop portraying Ottawa as the Peyton Place on the Rideau. 😉
DeleteSeriously though, what I should have said is that the Parliamentary Press Gallery is a cozy place these days with media organizations reducing their presence or relying on the Canadian Press to cover off for them. So when some members of the group feel threatened they all do, and probably blame the Liberals for their own management's failure to develop an economically viable model...
Dale Smith http://www.routineproceedings.com/about-me/ is my go-to journalist now. If you read his bio you will see that he says "I am currently a regular freelance journalist covering the Hill and I write primarily for Reuters and The Law Times"
ReplyDeleteHi anon...Dale Smith is the Ottawa reporter I admire the most these days. He is fair and balanced, and recently was the only one to point out that when the Cons claimed that Trudeau had "pardoned" Bronfman they were talking like Americans, because unlike presidents prime ministers can't pardon anyone. When the Con media leave out stuff like that, they show their true colours and nobody should take them seriously...
DeleteA wornout blogger who insists on posting right wing drivel on a site supposed to be progressives has a bit so bad this morning , I could understand only part of it. He seems to tar Trudeau with the Bannon brush , then staggers sideways to say Trudeau is rich. Who in the Liberal Party is slipping the knife in through this " consultant'? Chretien was the recipeint of mid back knives in this way; it seems to be happening again.
ReplyDeleteHi rumleyfips...yes I saw that and I was not impressed. I think he's just bitter that time has marched on and left him behind. Trudeau has alienated some members of the old guard, and I get the impression that some of them would like the Cons to win just to teach him a lesson. Not my kind of progressives....
DeleteWho cares? We are a post national country now, nothing more than a hotel. Our history and culture doesn't matter and should be replaced. We were founded on white supremacy. Our first prime minister's statue was just vandalized. Good riddance.
ReplyDeleteHi anon...I see you're having a bleak Monday. If it's any consolation so am I. But I at least recognize that November in The Great White North can get anyone down, and that things aren't THAT bad.. We are still a young and big and beautiful country. Whatever mistakes we have made we still have time to correct. There s more discussion of native issues in this country than in any other country on earth. So there is still hope on that front. Take a good look at the state of Britain these days. Give thanks for our precious Medicare system, and have a good Tuesday....
DeleteWhy do cons hate the Magna Carta? Because they all think one day one of their prodigy will be King.
ReplyDeleteWere the shit gets real for Canada is the sequel to the Panama Papers which blew like autum leaves into a beautiful sunset in a huricane free zone.
The Paridise papers lay it all out in black and white. If the Liberals do not use thier highlighter to rub out all the black, the NDP will be the next goverment.
Hi Steve....I'm more worried about what Schmeagol and his gang of religious fanatics think about the Charter of Rights, for it's clear to me that they prefer the Old Testament. As for the Paradise Papers, all three parties have members with money in tax shelters. I agree that more action is needed to try to get tax cheats to pay up. But it's easier said than done, and no government has done more than the Liberals to fight tax evasion. One billion dollars to pay for more CRA investigators and lawyers, and $ 25 BILLION recovered so far. One must be careful not to spread damaging myths, for they only help the crooked Cons...
DeleteConservative do not hate the Magna Carta you idiot progressive. The Magna Carta which establishes the rule of law in England was signed by a Catholic monarch for Catholic nobility at the behest of the Catholic Bishops of England. Similar documents exist in continental Europe. The modern world's social capital was laid in the middle ages and is a product of Catholicism. Christianity is Catholicism and Catholicism is Christianity. During the middle ages, monarchs had to rule with the consent of the people and were also subject to the law. There for types of laws, eternal law (the laws of physics), natural law, divine law, and human law. All people were subject to all these laws. Human law to be just had to conform to natural moral law and divine law. English common law and Roman law are heavily influenced by the Cannon Law of the Catholic Church. The divine right of kings only arose after the so-called Protestant Reformation with the rise of the modern nation state. Idiot progressives such as yourself do not know history, philosophy, or science. Your all dumb pigs!
DeleteJustin Trudeau negotiated the TPP. He saw a bad deal for Canada and walked away. Where is the coverage of the other side who says just surrender, be part of a forced marriage to a republican bride. The inital stages may be painful
ReplyDeletebut after time you will forget what freedom meant.
Hi Steve...That's what bothered me so much about the Con media's coverage. Our country finally tells others that you're not going to push us around any longer, and our dirtbag media makes it sound like Justin Trudeau has somehow let us down. Sadly, like the Cons, they're not just dirtbags, they're traitors as well..l.
DeleteI just watched the CBC noon news . They had a bit about a female hockey player in the Hall of Fame , but ignored the captains of the Canadian and US women's teams who just had a baby. The CBC seems to be getting more right wing all the time. Has Tubby Black taken over ?
ReplyDeleteHi rumleyfips...I used to have a better idea of what was going on at the CBC, but my secret agents were too young for that place and they all got laid off. But clearly something is terribly wrong. CBC management needs to be purged, and the Liberals must replace those Con board members as soon as they can...
DeleteLook at the date on the Joly article, September 28th. Before then the media was pretty bad, but since then they have been on a rampage and are almost unwatchable. Is still see no apology from Rosie Barton over her shitty TPP reporting where she took the word of hog Rupert Murdoch and Malcolm Turnbull who is desperate to save his sinking con government in Australia.
ReplyDeleteHi anon...thanks for pointing out the date, I hadn't noticed. All I know Is that in the last few weeks the Con media has been out of control. They are not even trying to be balanced, they are just pumping out Con propaganda. And Barton is as she was on PNP, just another pathetic Con cheerleader. Shame on them all...
DeleteSheesh, me being on the wrong side of the Orange Curtain, I had no idea the nation's capital was such a "small town." Even D.C. isn't so close-knit. Wonder why it isn't Toronto? That'd be like having Poughkeepsie or Buffalo as the nation's capital, when all the hub of activity is in NYC. There's nothing to do in Buffalo but commiserate and make suicide pacts over frigid temperatures, no jobs, and the Bills. No wonder gossip and wild imaginary conspiracies thrive in stir-crazy "Awatto" on the other side of the border.
ReplyDeleteIf Postmedia and the other cabals are not going to be fair, let them fail. I do worry about your national broadcaster, though. Whenever those board members' contracts are up, boot them out and replace them with someone better. Maybe a boycott and/or letter-writing (tweet-writing?) campaign will be of some effect. Once they start noticing the ratings going down, they'll either clean up their act or beg to be shipped out.
As for Deplorebel Media, someone needs to start a campaign to make Google boot them like they did to Daily Stormer. It's a terrorist radicalization outlet at this point, just like the other nutjob channels and blogs like Infowars and Breitbart (that the nutjob Trump gave press credentials to). The only reason they're not considered "terrorist radicalization" is because white people (their core viewing audience) never get considered "terrorists," a word used almost exclusively as a dog-whistle for those of "foreign" background (namely, Muslims). After they dispatched their hate preachers to Charlottesville, it should have been over for them -- and Levant should have faced some sort of accountability.
The Québec mosque shooter was a fan. So are the actual Nazi groups operating there and in the Western provinces. Time for Google to do the right thing and kick them off their platform. If Twitter can ban Milo and his ilk, then Google needs to start stepping up their game just the same.
There is literally nothing "newsworthy" that would "require" them to keep the Rebel afloat, like Twitter makes the "political exception" for Trump. Let them go find some other company willing to rent them server space and bandwidth. There is no obligation for Google to keep them around, either; they're a private company and have the right to exclude objectionable members from their club. Nothing to do with "free speech," and even that has limits. More so in Canada than the anarchic U.S. (and even that doesn't go far enough IMHO). Drain the swamp. That goes for the digital one too.
P.S. -- speaking of Internet radicalization preachers, you should do a write-up about Jordan Peterson's new "Rate Your Liberal Indoctrination Professor" two-minute hate website that he's starting as a way of ganging up on his fellow colleagues at U of T and other colleges who don't approve of giving equal time to fascists. The Star has an article too, but I saw it first on (of all things) BuzzFeed.
https://www.buzzfeed.com/ishmaeldaro/jordan-peterson-website?utm_term=.lkYb4Pd1JO#.vmlekZ2AMm
I noticed that "free speech on college campuses" is part of Scheer's platform, and one that's ripped right out of the Breitbart and Bannon playbook. Peterson apparently thinks it's "fascism" to send Holocaust deniers packing if they want to give talks at yeshivas. Someone should press Scheer on this too. Does he, like Peterson, approve of forcing a university to provide a soap box to someone who thinks "Hitler did nothing wrong"? Or Google to provide one for an outlet like Rebel Media who used a white-supremacist rally where a woman died as a ratings stunt?
"That'd be like having Poughkeepsie or Buffalo as the nation's capital, when all the hub of activity is in NYC..."
DeleteUh, kinda like how Albany is the capital of NY?
As for the rest, ya sure just BAN everyone and everything you don't agree with. It's only totalitarian if the right does it... right?
HI anon 2:21 pm...Ottawa was a great Canadian or Victorian compromise, when our colonial masters couldn't decide between Montreal and Toronto. It's a pleasant city to visit, but living there is not that great, and every time I was forced to spend a couple of days in downtown Ottawa I practically went out of my mind with boredom. And what that leads to is a very small group of reporters who think they are (a) interesting and (b) the real government. I would fire them all and sentence them to six months of manual labour. As for Postmedia, I honestly believe that if it goes down it will be the best thing that could happen, for out of the ashes will come new and independent media who don't take their orders from one central place. Finally, I am still waiting for the MSM to shine a light on Schmear and his collection of religious fanatics and bigots, for there is enough dirt there to bury them all....
DeleteHI anon 2:44 pm...the only thing I would ban is hate literature like the material that pours out of the rear orifice of freaks like Ezra Levant. As for the rest of the Con media I think there's nothing that cancelling subscriptions and boycotts can't cure. Boycott Postmedia and it will collapse. Boycott the CBC and protest at its locations all over the country, and they can be embarrassed into doing better...
DeleteRobyn Urback is a cool person. Why do you have to hate everyone who doesn't share your beliefs?
ReplyDeleteThe Star article begins with "Good journalism is “critical” to democracy". Exactly. What we're getting is not good, not even close. They are as the government says "no longer viable".
ReplyDeleteThe hacks at the Post and Sun need only look into the mirror to see why nobody other than the Alt-Right/Con base are following them. The sooner those rags crash and burn, the better.
What really irks me is how my taxpayer dollars are giving these same hacks a soapbox on the CBC and Nora Loreto's article was certainly an eye opener to this. Immediate action is needed to level this playing field that is coached by the flunkys Harper installed in the upper levels of the CBC.
So I don't think their hate comes entirely from being snubbed by the Liberals Simon. However, it did magnify what already existed and exists in most right wingers, a vile streak of character more befitting a wounded animal than a decent human being.
JD
Hi JD...to determine their exact motives I think we would need a psychiatrist AND a hypnotist. But it is an extraordinary and deeply troubling phenomenon. The feeding frenzy over the tax reform issue was as manufactured as anything I've ever seen before. And what on earth would make them hum sympathetically and in such a loud and aggressive manner? I don't doubt for a moment that Harper appointed as many people as he could to keep his legacy alive in the dying days of his regime. But have his fascist operatives even infiltrated the CBC? Until we find out nobody is safe...
DeleteHi anon...you gotta be kidding, or drunk as a skunk. Urback is the opposite if cool. She's a turkey from the Con propaganda rag the National Post, and both her and the Con sucker who hired her should be fired immediately. Also, the CBC should get out of the opinion business, and focus all its resources on covering Canada and the world properly. The last thing we need is air heads like Urback telling us what to think, and defending creationists and climate change deniers,...
ReplyDeleteWant her job eh? Not going to happen.
Deletehi anon...no I don't want her job. I want the CBC to fire the Con stooge who hired her. I'd like them to shutdown the opinion page, and I'd like to see Urbach reassigned to cover minor crime stories, traffic accidents, Kiwani Club events etc etc. In short, match her limited talents to the jobs she is capable of doing, and stop pretending that ANYONE needs to know what she thinks about ANYTHING...
DeleteYeah....you want her job. Sad.
DeleteI got my fundraising letter from the Friends of the CBC yesterday, threw it straight into the recycle. I can’t support their alt right agenda. If they fire the troll masters of the comment boards and clear the dirty old Cons from the board I will resume donating. Until then I won’t be watching anything on the CBC. We need a petition Simon. ❤️ Pamela.
ReplyDeleteDitto!
Deletehi Pamela...I don't blame you, I would have done the same thing. It's not the fault of the poor old Friends of the CBC, but one can't encourage anyone at the CBC to keep doing what they're doing. It's a hostile takeover if ever there was one. I realize that they had to wait until the contracts of Harper's appointees on the CBC board ran out. But enough is enough, it's time to give them the boot, and then purge the incompetent managers who are alienating their strongest supporters, by sucking up to the Cons. And yes, we do need a petition. I'll look into it...
Deletehi Kathleen...OK that makes three of us. How can we lose ? ;)
DeleteYou should add Stephen LeDrew from CP24 and his live at noon TV show. Though he is the former Liberal President he seems to hate Justin Trudeau. He books Conservative & NDP MPs pundits almost every single day to trash Liberals and never hardly ever books any Liberal MP or pundit to give a rebuttal. It is all opposition to Liberals from Conservatives and NDP 100% of the time on his show.
ReplyDeleteModern liberalism is manifestly evil in nature. Justin Trudeau is the embodiment of the evil of modern liberalism. This ultra-left wing progressive website depicts conservatives a pigs. The truth is that decadent secular social liberals, the progressives are pigs. When Jesus of Nazareth told the apostles not to through pearls of wisdom before swine, he was revering to pagan progressives.
