How The Con Media Were Made To Look Like Idiots

Remembrance Day is always a sad day, but it was a particularly gloomy day at the Parliamentary Press Gallery.

Yesterday they were squealing like hogs, accusing Justin Trudeau of having sabotaged a trade deal by missing a meeting.

And along with the creepy Andrew Schmear all but demanding that Trudeau resign IMMEDIATELY !!!!

But sadly for them, today they were all licking their self inflicted wounds and/or their private parts.

And looking like idiots.

After it was revealed that Team Trudeau had teamed up with Team Mexico to prevent Japan and Australia from railroading our country into signing a bad deal.

Heading into APEC, a senior Canadian government official said Ottawa had been anticipating pressure from TPP partners Japan and Australia, two countries that wanted to move forward quickly with sealing the 11-country deal.

The Trudeau government, on the other hand, wanted to throw some sand in the gears. Ottawa had been pushing the other parties to make changes to how the treaty would affect areas like culture, intellectual property and the auto sector.

Trudeau explained his situation to Pena Nieto, who reassured him that if Canada didn't sign on to the TPP, Mexico wouldn't either, the official said.

And thanks to our diplomatic skills, and our amigo, Canada had come out looking like a winner.

Late Friday, TPP trade ministers agreed to changes and new ways forward in areas Canada has been pressing for, like autos, cultural industries and the suspension of IP provisions from the original TPP. The official said the changes didn't come until after Canada informed the group it wasn't going to agree to the deal without them.

While Schmear and his porky Cons, and the shabby Con stooges in the MSM never looked more like losers.

And as a bonus so did Donald Trump.

President Trump delivered a fiery speech on trade here Friday, declaring that he would not allow the United States to be “taken advantage of anymore” and planned to place “America first.”

And then, less than 24 hours later, 11 Pacific Rim countries collectively shrugged and moved on without the U.S.

And all I can say is, not bad for a day's work...

And to think that Stephen Harper recently urged the Liberals and their large team of negotiators to surrender.

But then of course he would...

You know, the Cons are always attacking Justin Trudeau as only they can.

In the bestial, perverted manner that tells you all you need to know about them.

But when a smart guy, and a tough critic, and a good Canadian like Michael Geist, says the Liberals aren't doing too badly.

Years of disappointment in trade negotiations have left many Canadian intellectual property watchers hoping for the best, but expecting the worst when it comes to the IP provisions in trade deals. In earlier talks, Canadian negotiators would often advocate balanced positions during the negotiations, but ultimately cave to (primarily) U.S. pressures during the final round of talks.

Given that history, this week’s outcome of the TPP11 is reason for celebration as the second largest economy in the TPP finally acted like it. The Liberal government demonstrated genuine leadership in demanding significant changes to the flawed TPP intellectual property chapter and refusing to back down under intense pressure from some of the negotiating parties.

If I was a Liberal I'd take that as a sign that they're heading in the right direction.

On the other hand if I was a Con, I would be really worried and wonder whether the grubby religious fanatic Scheer, or Schmear, or Schmeagol was the leader they needed...

And if I was a member of the shabby Con media, I'd probably kill myself eh?

For having lost control, and blown any shred of credibility they still had out of the window.

In a desperate attempt to impress their corporate masters...

By trying to bring down Justin Trudeau by whatever means necessary.

Is it a game they like to play? Is it like chess or chequers? Or spin the bottle?

Because whatever it is, it's not working.

Despite all the attempts to smear the Liberal government, Justin Trudeau is still way more popular that Andrew Scheer.

The situation is so desperate the Cons have had to cancel their weekly YouTube show The Weekly Ninety.

Because nobody was watching.

And at the Con shop they're practically giving away the merchandise.

So I don't think it's too hard to imagine where the porky Cons and their stooges in the media are going...

Sad.

But after Harper they were never a Canadian party again.

And after we have them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in the next election.

Nobody will ever miss them...

Once the Reform cabal took over the PC party I never even thought about voting for them.
They are certainly a nasty bunch of misfits

    2. HI Karhleen...The Progressive Conservative party was killed by Stephen Harper, and now in the age of Trump, Andrew Scheer is killing the Conservative Party. When a man who worked closely with Ezra Levant on a hate mongering rag is now the party's campaign manager, you know it's over. It's hard to know what it will end up resembling, but you can be sure it will be monstrous, and I predict it may very well tear this country apart...

    3. Hi anon 3:27 PM...yes, at the time everybody thought Harper was a genius, and the Cons did get ten years to rule over and degrade this country. But it was a Faustian bargain and they will live to regret it. And it's this simple: or they will regret it, or we will...

I honestly didn't even know they had a YouTube channel. Nor did I care, because obviously I didn't miss much. All I know is they're not playing chess. They can't even figure out Candy Land or hopscotch. A coloring book is like quantum computing to them.

But on the bright side, olé, eh? ¡Viva los Dos Amigos! Trump must be livid that his "Newfoundland friend" didn't just roll over and play dead for a treat, but in fact is a steadfast partner with -- gasp -- Mexico. Presidente Pendejo hates Mexico, not because of "jobs" but for the same reason the rest of his party does: Pure, unadulterated racism. Notice that he never made an issue about auto plants in Canada or Canadian snowbirds overstaying their visas. He's not even wailing (not yet anyway, thank goodness) about marijuana legislation being debated in Ottawa, or senior citizens getting cheaper RX north of the border, like he accused "Mexicans" of "bringing drugs" (when the real culprit is the domestic pharma cartels). A 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy is a helluva ruthless gang leader, right Donnie?

It's all about his base, like that song says. Base negativity, base-level hatred and base-level egotistical selfishness. He and his party of Kremlin thugs can go fuddle-duddle themselves and take the northern deplorables along with them on the Trump train going off a cliff.

BTW, thought you should see this. Trump going after the immigrants who do jobs that Americans are too spoiled to do, has left farmers with no other choice but to hire robots to do the dirty work instead. What are the deplorables going to do now that you can't deport an apple-picker made by Apple?

Mexico and Canada (and China?) team up for an A.I. agricultural workforce (to cultivate the marijuana crops, perhaps?), they'll be an unstoppable force heading into the 21st century. Meanwhile, I hear America will be making really great, really incredible strides in the employment figures for, among others, Betamax repair technicians, Vaudeville actors, and "clean coal" miners...

    1. Hi anon...their ill fated YouTube program was meant to replace their propaganda channel 24/7 which ran once a week and resembled something Goebbels might have come up with. But back then the Cons could pretend they were building something, even as Harper crippled or destroyed one Canadian institution after the other. Now the Cons have become Trump, and all they seek is to destroy. God help this country if they ever get to rule it again...

The rabid Cons and their media were once again too incredibly stupid to get the facts straight before going with the reports from a far right Aussie rag. Result? As your title states Simon, they were made to look like idiots.
And now it is Sunday and those same tabloids are strangely silent on the TPP. No retraction, no high fives for the Liberals on their superior negotiating skills, nothing. Other than Rosie Barfin's deluded tweet, nothing.
The Cons and their media are true parasites in the sense of the word. They exist for nothing more than destroying their hosts(Liberals).
The parasite benefits at the expense of the host, the parasite uses the host to gain strength, and the host loses some strength as a result.
Parasites, unlike predators, are usually much smaller than their hosts. So true.

    1. Hi JD....what I found most disgusting, was the indecent glee of our filthy Con media. It was like an orgy they were tearing off their clothes, greasing themselves up like hogs and diving in to the muck like there was no tomorrow. And what made me howl with laughter was watching those second rate mediocrities react when they realized they had made a terrible mistake, and blown their credibility out of the window. They think they can escape the consequences by going to ground, and hoping that nobody will notice, but they are very mistaken...

    1. HI anon...thank you, I'm glad you liked the post. I do what I can with the little time I have because I am genuinely worried where this country is going. Although I didn't vote for Justin and the Liberals I think they have done a good job, and at the very least they restored the Canadian values that I thought we had lost. Which for me was the most important thing. Whether the values that motivate me are widely shared remains to be seen. If they're not, I will simply move on, and return to the Scottish highlands and dream of something better....

The Cons are in no position to complain about Trudeau being late for a meeting. Not after Harper held up proceedings at a couple of international confabs while he had his pants round his ankles sitting on the crapper.

  6. Fun seeing stories of Trudeau's great failure with the TPP and Trudeau's great success with the TPP only a few stories apart on the front pages. The sharp stick stuck in Harper's eye was fun too.

    1. HI rumleyfips... Yes it really is bizarre isn't it? No wonder the Con media is walking around like they have socks stuffed in their mouths. I've never seen them so quiet, and yet let history record that not one of them had the decency to apologize. In my book that tells me all I need to know about them...

    1. Hi anon...as I have mentioned before, I'm starting to believe that the media is trying to blackmail the Liberals into giving them money. It was hard to accept that. But all I can say is that if that blackmail can one day be proven, it will be the end of the media as we know it. They're playing with fire, and they are going to be burned...

Thank you Simon, we can always count on you to take on the Con bullies. Our media has lost touch with the views of most Canadians so I am so grateful you won't let them get away with it.

  10. Hi anon...thank you, I appreciate that. I have fought bullies since I was about twelve and I always will. I wish more bloggers were as outraged by the disgusting behaviour of the Con media as I am. But Canada is a complacent country, and I can only hope that more progressives wake up before it's too late....

by not showing up for "the signing" Trudeau played his cards just right. Freeland did much the same when negotiating the E.U. deal, she was leaving and coming back to Canada. Canada is sending the right message. Working with Mexico in this instance will have better results in the long run.

With Trump saying he'll "can" NAFTA, American farmers are more than a tad distressed. They export a lot of wheat to Mexico. In fact Mexico is their third largest customer. Already Argentina is starting to sell Mexico wheat on the spot market.

Some may think Canada and Mexico have to go along with everything other nations want, but there are choices and S. America is more than happy to do business.
Harper and the Conservatives might not have known how to do business on the international stage but Trudeau and the federal Liberals do. Trudeau grew up watching the world stage.

Its time the Conservatives start to understand Trudeau is a lot smarter than they are. They need to stop under estimating him and the federal Liberals. The media wasn't exactly on the mark either and they don't look particularly good. They jumped the gun. Their agenda is a tad obvious. If they could get back to reporting the facts all would be happier and the media wouldn't look like such clowns.
