Donald Trump: When a Fascist Is a Fascist is a Fascist
For a long time I hesitated to call Donald Trump a fascist. I thought he was just a bloated clown, and I didn't want to devalue the word.
But not any longer. Not after the way he is going after transgendered soldiers, or the way he is threatening the media.
Or the way that ugly bigot would portray himself as some kind of Christian warrior.
When of course he is neither.
Just a grubby groper and a miserable coward.
So I'm glad to see that Michael Harris agrees with me...
If it talks like a fascist, walks like a fascist, and squawks like a fascist, it must be a fascist.
I use the word fascist advisedly. If we are to square up to the facts, what other way is there to describe Trump? Mussolini, whom Trump unabashedly quoted during the presidential election campaign, said that “fascism should rightly be called corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.”
Could there be a better description of the Trump cabinet than that? A collection of billionaires representing the corporate elite in the United States, who now also control the levers of political power – often without relinquishing their business conflicts?
A billionaire who vowed to take on corporate interests, only to reward them shamelessly...
And turn his corrupt clown government into one for and by the One Percent.
A political thug who would silence his critics, and muzzle the media...
Fascists in Germany and Italy used brute force to intimidate and silence their critics. Trump recently encouraged police to manhandle suspects, a cringe-worthy attempt to connect with that part of his base that doesn’t see much value in due process or professional policing; the hang ‘em high crowd. It was the same “punch him in the face” rhetoric that sent Trump followers into a frenzy during the election campaign.
Like all good fascists, Trump has been virulent in his attempt to vilify and intimidate the free press. He has declared war on that part of the U.S. media that continues to vigorously assert its First Amendment rights. In fact, the president has called the “fake news” media – including The Washington Post and The New York Times, the “enemy” of the people.
A would be emperor who would torch the planet, and lead the world to war...
A liar, a coward, a bigot, a maniac.
You know, I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I can't believe that so many young Americans died fighting the fascists...
Only to end up with a fascist in the White House.
But just like those dead heroes did vanquish their would be Fuhrer.
I am confident that the decent Americans of today will bring down this one...
A fascist is a fascist is a fascist.
Donald Trump was always unfit to be the president of the United States.
The Day of Justice is coming.
And he will be defeated...
"In America we don't worship government, we worship God."
ReplyDeleteHahaha I bet a statement like that got a heathen like you sweating like a whore in Church.
Yep. Especially if she's busy in the Narthex.
DeleteOr maybe the Chancel? Or Sactuary? Or Apse? Sure do get around eh Anonymouse?
Deletehi anon 8:49 am... that's funny, that's the same image that came to mind for me. The pious pervert Donald Trump sweating like a hooker in a church, hoping the roof won't come down on his head. I mean if you were a good Christian, you would consider THAT blasphemy...
DeleteJustice is coming in the form of Bobby Three Sticks.
ReplyDeletehi anon...yes I like Mueller's nickname. It makes me think of a bonfire big enough to roast Trump and his whole crooked regime...
DeleteRobert Mueller is used to dirt. He was complicit in pushing the non-existent Iraq connection to 9-11, which was a lie concocted by Vice President Dick Cheney. (The power behind George W. Bush's throne). It was a fabrication that led to the death of a half million people. He defended the Patriot Act, torture and unlimited surveillance of the American people. He didn’t question the phony, ‘official’ 9-11 narrative. Like his corrupt associate Comey, Mueller is a Deep State collaborator.
ReplyDeleteHe’s also a bag man who easily bends to political pressure--another similarity he shares with Comey. That’s why he was chosen for his latest assignment: the framing of President Trump. The former FBI director under Bush and Obama probably knows the Russia ‘election hacking’ narrative is nothing but a wild goose chase, so now he wants to investigate Trump’s finances. Even a CNN pointed out that this is wrong and beyond the scope. But Mueller isn’t reeling anything in on his fishing expedition so he wants to cast out farther and farther.
After losing the election in a spectacular manner, Hillary and Podesta invented the 'Russia/Trump collusion’ fairy tale not only as an excuse, but also as a means to divert attention away from their very real criminal corruption. They love to blame their enemies for the evil that they themselves commit, which is an old Saul Alinksy trick. Using the Clinton Foundation as a money-laundering operation, Hillary accepted ‘pay for play’ cash from Russia as part of her Uranium One deal. While she was Secretary of State, her husband received $500,000 for a speech he delivered in Moscow. Putin was obviously buying influence from Hillary. Now that she’s not president and can’t easily cover up her traitorous misdeeds, she found it necessary to paint President Trump as the traitor.
Hillary is using Mueller as her personal bloodhound. He’s out sniffing on a trail with no scent, but he still hopes it will lead to President Trump regardless. A far less pristine trail leads to crooked Hillary as well as Obama, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and many others. Despite the abundance of redolent clues they’ve left behind, Mueller has been assigned to sniff at President Trump. It’s a waste of time and taxpayer money.
It’s a charade designed to hide the criminal misdeeds of the Deep State itself. They may fabricate lies to remove President Trump, but in doing so they’ll also be flirting with civil war. Too many constitutional republic-loving Americans will not tolerate a coup by the swamp.
Too much time in the sun with your tin foil hat, mate?
DeleteAnon 10:22 , If you disregard the evidences of collusion with Russia and Trump and base your claims only by using alternative facts, you may be a right wing nutjob.
DeleteMethinks "Anonymous @10:22 AM" must also be spending too much time reading Russia Today (RT), Breitbart, WorldNutDaily, and watching Alex Jones! LOL!
DeleteI see there are three gormless responses to the only decent summary of Mueller I've read. Nasty piece of work he is. But hey, why not get one nasty piece of work going after another nasty piece of work? The whole US government and complicit big business MSM take great pride in writing up stupid stuff to serve as "news of record" for the great unwashed. I mean, who cares about the public? There are more important people than that to be served. All we get fed is justifications as news. Democrat or Republican high-ups, ex-CIA bounders, all of the PNAC persuasion of 'Murica as exceptional, why they're all just having a good old fight among themselves. Just different takes on hegemony. The actual public be damned, so bought-and-paid-for scribes wind themselves up into a mindset and disgorge dreadful "reportage" as truth.
DeleteThe next Western leader to be disparaged if he gets anywhere will be Jeremy Corbyn in the UK. The UK establishment and business oligarchs hate him. The US won't have him either. Money is for the rich, not to give your average prole a decent living for his/her labour. Trump and Corbyn are opposite ends of the political spectrum, but both tend to upset the status quo. And we simply cannot have that, old boy. No, we'll support Saudi Arabia first, and rubber stamp the right-wing Israeli government's actions as well. They know which side their bread is buttered on, and it isn't about you and me or independent governments for countries. No profit in that! Countries have to parrot the US line. Trump is just a better public fascist than the ones who've been quietly running the US since WW2, starting with the Dulles boys. The worst way to die is to be a populist Central or South American independent-minded leader. Great wrath will descend on those people, no matter if it's Trump or a drooling idiot as nominal US president.

hi anon 10:22 am... where did you get that wild fantasy from, Breitbart or The Rebel? And why do all the trails in your mind lead to Hillary Clinton? I realize that thanks to Trump, paranoia is a higher state of consciousness, but that's ridiculous. From what I understand Mueller is a decorated veteran, and a lawman respected by both Democrats and most Republicans. So I think he has all the credentials he needs to put away Trump and his gang, or at the very least remove them from the White House...
Deletehi anon 3:30PM ... No I'm afraid that poor Trumpkin has been spending too much time in the sun WITHOUT his tin foil Make Amerika Great hat...
Deletehi filcher...thank you for standing up for the truth AND me. That right-wing nut job is not only using alternative facts, he's calling me a hooker !!#@!!
Deletehi David... there can be no doubt that anon 10:22 am is getting his facts from all the wrong places. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he got those "facts" watching Ezra Levant's recent appearance on the Alex Jones show. I thought Levant had finally made it to where he belongs, but it was a double dose of crazy...
Deletehi BM...I'm sorry I have to disagree with you. Anon 10:22s attempt to smear Robert Mueller is both absurd and irrelevant. Mueller may be part of the establishment, but he appears to be a decent and honest person which is more than can be said for Trump and his gang. Not everyone who has been running the U.S. over the last fifty years is a fascist, and to suggest so is just to cloud reality and allow the real fascists to blend into the scenery. And while I agree that Jeremy Corbyn will be attacked by the establishment, as he already has been, I reject any comparison with Trump. Trump isn't threatening the status quo, he's cementing the status of the One Percent.
DeleteHe's a reactionary and a bigot, which Corbyn isn't, and unlike Trump he supports the rights of women and LGBT people. And all you are doing is showing that at a certain point the nonsense of the alt-right starts to resemble the nonsense of the alt-leftists. The ones who think only they own The Truth. Give your head a shake and think what you are saying...
No doubt Trump has Facist feelings, anyone who celebrates Ayn Rand walks in the same shoes. However, it is the Hillary wing of America that is the real war party. Trump's basic instinct is isolationism, but he is being forced to join the war.
ReplyDeletehi Steve... look isn't it time that you Trumpkins stopped citing Hillary Clinton to excuse the behaviour of your hero? Clinton never had any real power, while Trump promised to be a peacemaker and is in the process of breaking that promise like all his other ones. Nobody is forcing him to do anything, he is the president, and can do what he likes....
DeleteFar-right winger Dinesh D’Souza says fascism is linked to the left:
ReplyDeletehttps://thinkprogress.org/steve-bannon-uses-white-house-office-to-promote-new-book-linking-democrats-with-nazis/
The subtitle of D’Souza’s new book is, “Exposing the Nazi roots of the American left.” A summary of the book posted on Amazon claims that the “Democratic left has an ideology virtually identical with fascism and routinely borrows tactics of intimidation and political terror from the Nazi Brownshirts.”
hi David..Dinesh Souza is a pathetic grub who inhabits the nether world of the right. Everything he says or writes is absolute garbage, and I expect his new book is more of the same. No doubt it starts with the claim that because the Nazis called themselves the National Socialists, they were really leftists. Honestly, those right-wing swine are both crazy and dumb...
DeleteConflicting views, on one hand Trump could be a visionary revolutionist dedicated to restoring America's greatness and prosperity, on the other hand he could be a diaper wearing lying narcissistic Putin wannabe trying to convert America to a oligarchy with him at the helm. So far his actions suggest a leaning to the narcissistic view rather than visionary. He cant even keep his own lies straight, has numerous questionable connections to the Russian's, intertwined personal business and government responsibilities, and has demonstrated an inability or desire to communicate any details of his vision other than incoherent Twitter rants and low effort edicts that target select minority groups. Perception can change and time will tell... unless a real crisis arrives, he escapes the watchful nannies and ends it all in one great Mother of all Explosions triggered by a Breitbart or Fox news article.
ReplyDeleteRT
hi RT...Trump was never and will never be a visionary or a revolutionary. He's only in it for himself and his family. He attacked the One Percent when he was campaigning only to turn his cabinet into a billionaire's club. He's a ghastly misogynist, a bigot, and a crook. And how any of his followers can still believe anything he tells them is simply beyond me. As I said above dumb is dumb, and crazy is crazy....

If It’s What You Say (to the tune: "Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd)
https://genius.com/The-weeknd-cant-feel-my-face-lyrics
IF IT’S WHAT YOU SAY
And I know he’ll be the President
It will be lots of fun
And he always asks the best of me
The best is yet to come
Then I know we'll all be royalty and stay forever young
This I know, yeah, this I know
[Pre-Chorus]
He told me, "Be happy about it"
He told me, "Be happy for sure"
We all know he can't win without it
He told me we need to lock her up, oh, oh, woo
[Chorus]
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
And I’ll wait for the Russian lawyer
To show up at my door
I can’t wait to meet all the others
On the 25th Floor
All the pre-planning is necessary for Jared and Paul
This I know, this I know, oh, oh, woo
[Pre-Chorus]
He told me, "Be happy about it"
He told me, "Be happy for sure"
We all know he can't win without it
That’s why the meeting got moved to 4, oh, oh, woo
[Chorus]
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
[Pre-Chorus]
He told me, "Be happy about it"
He told me, "Be happy for sure"
We all know he can't win without it
He told me we need to lock her up, oh, oh, woo
[Chorus]
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say we have some time
And I love it, and I love it, oh
If it’s what you say I’ll be on TIME
And I'll love it, and I'll love it, oh
If it’s what you say I’ll be on TIME
And I'll love it, and I'll love it, oh
If it’s what you say...

Actually, "corporatismo" referred to a mythical return to the medieval guild system, a great age of Italy, just as the fasces referred to Ancient Rome, obviously another. It is usually misunderstood by English-speakers.
ReplyDeleteHowever, fascism was, behind all the nostalgia and worship of violence as purification, a kind of shock therapy for the ruling class against the labour movement and the left.
It would be odd to have a true fascist movement in the US as it isn't necessary for class rule, as the US labour movement is in the doldrums and there is no significant left (though the people who backed Bernie and are now calling for Medicare and Fight for Fifteen are interesting). But institutionalized racism has always been part of the US; its very foundation incorporated the "peculiar institution" and went on to "win the West". It couldn't exist in the form it did without systemic violence against enslaved Black people and Indigenous peoples, and stealing half of Mexico's territory.
