It was one of the ugliest protests in modern Canadian history. The invasion and occupation of Ottawa by far right truckers bent on overthrowing the Liberal government.
They blocked the streets around Parliament Hill for almost a month, honking their horns day and night, terrorizing residents, and along with their blockade of the Ambassador Bridge and other border crossings, they cost this country BILLIONS.
And if Justin Trudeau hadn't invoked the Emergencies Act, the nightmare would have gone on forever.
But don't remind the Cons about that horror show, because while they enjoyed the sight of the ugly mob going after Trudeau...
Opposition Conservatives are asking the RCMP to pursue a criminal investigation into Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's trip to the Aga Khan's private island six years ago, saying there's new evidence.
With the morally depraved Con leader Candy Bergen leading the charge.
"There's a chance the prime minister of Canada has committed criminal fraud," Bergen said before Wednesday's Conservative caucus meeting, without taking any questions.
Trying to deflect attention away from the trucker terrorist story, for obvious reasons....
The Cons are scared shitless about what the inquiry into the occupation will uncover, and nobody is more scared than the Con floozy Bergen.
For she's on record welcoming the hairy honkers to Ottawa...
And making them feel right at home...
Claiming that there are "good people on both sides."
As only that Trumpy Wumpy could....
But of course, Bergen wasn't the only one to embrace the hairy honkers.
So did Pierre Poilievre...
Who couldn't hug them enough, and scream "Freedom" enough times.
As did almost FIFTY other Cons, who acted in an equally shameless manner.
Which explains why the CONvoy Party wants to change the subject so badly, lest many of them are eventually indicted as terrorist sympathizers.
Although it must be said, the grubby Poilievre can't resist letting the truckers know that not so deep down inside he still loves them.
While also making it clear that he doesn't believe in science.Trudeau and Charest called truckers criminals.

I stood up for their right to fight for their freedoms against these ridiculous unscientific mandates.
End all mandates now. Join here, so you can vote, if you agree: https://t.co/d9I1ky9w2t pic.twitter.com/BsJ2GXAWDp
Which in a normal time would be enough to disqualify anyone from running to be Prime Minister.
But what makes it even worse is that Poilievre is also sending out a ghastly dog whistle to another group of hairy honkers tooters who are planning to invade Ottawa this weekend.
One of the organizers of a planned motorcycle convoy is warning of a "free-for-all" on Friday if Ottawa police don't allow hundreds of protesters to bring their bikes onto the streets around Parliament Hill.
And just one look at their chief organizer in action should serve as a warning to anybody living in Ottawa, or planning to attend the rally.
For with that guy leading the hairy tooters.Introducing Neil Sheard organizer of the #RollingThunder.

Members of ‘People’s Convoy’ drove across country from MD to the Bay Area in CA. They went to the home of Dem Assembly member Buffy Wicks where they honked horns and used bullhorns against her support of abortion rights. They say the truth shall set you free. However, for the Cons, the truth might set them in jail. Or in days of old, in front of a firing squad. Conspiring to overthrow a government is treason after all. It's no wonder they're shitting themselves and their media hacks head's are exploding. It looks so good on them and it will be very sweet to watch them walking on egg shells in an endless spin cycle for the next 10 months.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of eggs, I do hope the citizens of Ottawa have utilized their freedoms and have formed a PEB as they did in Oakland. They can call it a free breakfast of scrambled eggs for the freedumb fighters. That's the least they can do to these assholes who have the unmitigated gall to subject Ottawans to another round of sheer, utter nonsense. Let's hope we'll have many videos of flying eggs and hairy, irate omelets to laugh at.
That video of Neil Sheard proves he is one seriously disturbed individual, Simon. Perhaps he has PTSD from the years he served and denies he needs mental help? On one hand he's trying to cast the rolling feces rally as a noble cause and on the other hand he has the douchebag extraordinaire, Chris Skye as the only speaker at the event. His "free for all" comment wasn't very bright either. If things go south he may find himself reunited with his bff, fat Pat King who's still rotting in jail and who must be really, really lonely right about now.
The inquiry has begun and the Cons will finally be held to account. It should be an excellent example of and should serve as a warning to anyone linked to criminals. If you lay with dogs, you will get up with fleas.

IDU cons aka Tucker's Tonka Tantrum Tories and their biker buddies are doing everything they can to throw a spanner in the works of Canada's version of the January 6th Committee. Fortunately, the Liberals are more determined to put the pedal to the metal than our dithering Democrats. Merrick Garland dragged his feet for too long, but Paul Rouleau has plenty of runway and should get down to business soon. Hence the desperation to echo Trump by calling him a "Liberal judge" (as in, "so-called Obama judge") and attempting to make a "scandal" out of him donating to (checks notes) John Turner in 1984.

For years now, Canada’s Conservatives have played footsie with an increasingly radicalized right-wing populist movement. The sooner their relationship with them is brought into the light, the better it will be for everyone else.
And hopefully it destroys the party and salts the earth of their pernicious influence once and for all.
A 100% majority of the Canadian parliament voted to cerement in history that Canada believed the Russians where doing
ReplyDeletegenocide in Ukraine.
This fact indicates how far of the reality scale we have come. There is war in Ukraine but no sensible person could say it is an attempt to wipe Ukraine's off the earth.
At any time Putin could flatten Kiev with a non nuclear keystroke.
If past experience is any indication the inquiry will not be nearly as dramatic as many think nor as damaging to conservatives as many hope.
ReplyDeleteFirst, a Federal inquiry cannot compel officials from another level of government to appear before the inquiry. So no one from the Provincial governments, the OPP, the Ottawa government of Ottawa Police Services will give testimony. Maybe the RCMP will have to appear if the inquiry looks into the blockades in Alberta and Manitoba but if they do not then the Mounties will not have to testify.
If the Inquiry decides to try to figure out who supported the Occupiers those people can go to a Federal Court and argue that the inquiry is going on a fishing expedition and not following the law which calls for a rather narrow scope for the Inquiry. Of course, any court action is a crap shoot and the court could agree with a wider scope or disagree. In the end, since no leader of an inquiry likes the courts interfering with their work so they tend to default to a narrow scope of inquiry.
They might be able to follow the money but I do not know where that will go since most of the fund raising was done on-line, so it will be nearly impossible to trace with any accuracy.
In the end, if you believe that this inquiry will actually damage the CPC you may be very disappointed.
Hi JD....As I said in my post, I'm really enjoying seeing the Cons desperately trying to deflect attention away from the treasonous way they behaved during the occupation of Ottawa. Candy Bergen is practically quivering with tension, and grinding her teeth so hard she sounds like a cicada in heat. Unfortunately for her one of her hairy honkers made some detailed notes about his conversation with her, and its devastating stuff. I don't know whether it will be enough to put her behind bars, but it will be close. And it is where she belongs. And as for Pigeon Boy he's got the same problem. Like most Cons he hates Trudeau so much that when the trucker fascists came along he got carried away, and when the truth is revealed he can kiss his political career goodbye. You know, I was disgusted by the way the convoy thugs treated the people of Ottawa, but with all the rot they have exposed, and the panic of the Cons, now I'm almost grateful...
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie....I have great enjoyed how the Cons are reacting to the mandate of the trucker terrorist inquiry. Candy Bergen trying to shift the focus on to Trudeau is simply pathetic, and she is so worked up I wouldn't be surprised to see her running down Wellington Street in her hooker heels looking for a hairy honker to "console" her. I think she's finally understanding that her diseased hatred for Justin Trudeau has led her and many other Cons into a trap they will not escape. And the same goes for Poilievre. For there he was this afternoon tweeting out his support for the truckers, even though that might help him squeeze a few more votes out of his rabid mouth breathing base, but can only offend decent Canadians for whom the trucker terrorists are everything they hate, and wipe out any chances he might have of winning the next election. Trudeau hate turned out to be a powerful poison, but not for Trudeau, for them. When Stephen Harper made them in his own image, he condemned them to wander in the political wilderness until they are finally destroyed by the contempt of Canadians. What a way to go, it couldn't be more perfect...
ReplyDeleteHi Steve....Try not to get so emotionally involved with the war in Ukraine. The Russians are waging a genocidal campaign, their mighty army is being hammered, and Putin has made himself and his country look like bestial fascists, so even if he does resort to nuclear weapons he can only lose the war. He has done great damage to the Ukraine, but Russia has also been damaged, and it will take a generation for it to recover...
ReplyDeleteThe Emergencies Act was revoked the day before the Russians entered Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteShortly after there was video from Ukraine of a tractor trailer being unloaded and stinger shoulder fired missiles being handed out. During the occupation there was a tractor trailer containing 2000 guns stolen, fortunately later recovered.
These two glimpses into what could be in a truck's trailer are examples of possibilities which contribute to a state of alarm among security people. What is in the trailers? What grounds is there to inspect them when not crossing a border?
Suddenly we see not just a bunch of yokels (like the little green men Russia sent to Ukraine years ago) milling around in a disorganized way. When in fact they are a fighting force of about 3 battalions with supply lines in place and weapons caches conveniently stored within 500 metres of the Parliament buildings.
How quickly could that fighting force of 3000 troops be handed out weapons, put on their coloured toques according to rank, and be marching on Parliament Hill after a few Stingers shot into the West Block? From the "GO" tweet to the first explosion? Five minutes max.
So they see a group wanting to replace the elected government with themselves, with its troops massing near Parliament, and potential weapons for the troops to complete the coup with in place. It is an emergency until they are out of range and verified unarmed
@Anon 12:47
ReplyDeleteI believe that several local Tweeters have been buying bushels of eggs to past CONvoy vehicles. Apparently several local stores were out so some may have crossed the border to QC to get them...
And yes, the CPC goose is cooked. Poilievre will never live down his support for the truckers, it will haunt him forever...
(I do feel somewhat poorly for Mr. Sheard. It's obvious he is suffering from some sort of mental illness and has been bamboozled by others into doing this. That's likely why police were letting him vent without arresting him.)
"At any time Putin could flatten Kiev with a non nuclear keystroke."
ReplyDeleteWow! Is that the vodka talking or do you actually believe that, comrade? The fact is Russia's "smart" bombs ain't so smart so to suggest that Putin is somehow giving Ukrainians a break is not only ludicrous, it's downright offensive and if I were Ukrainian, I would be extremely offended. Putin's a butcher, a war criminal committing genocide and his legacy will be comparable to Hitler's. And if I were him I wouldn't be nuclear saber rattling when he could be easily vaporized by many countries with their nukes pointed at him while he consistently misses the mark with his "smart" bombs. They must be Ladas, I guess.
JD
Hi Ottlib...I disagree. I don't expect the inquiry to finish off the Cons, but they are terrified so I believe it can do some more damage to an already damaged party. We shall use the inquiry findings to smear the Cons as tools of the far-right in the United States. We are already know the names of some of their hitherto hidden money bags and it should be easy to portray them as seeking to destroy this country and its values. The infiltration of the extreme right as well as religious fanatics into the Cons ranks is really happening, and the Cons are going to pay for it big time. Between that and Poilievre's kooky economic theories and the bitcoin he may have used to fund the trucker terrorists I may not get all I want out of the inquiry, but I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed....
ReplyDeleteHi anon@11:39PM ...I always worried what might be in those rigs during the terrorist occupation of Ottawa, especially those parked right outside Justin Trudeau's office. Many of the truckers, especially those who have served in the military, live in a fantasy world and are heavily influenced by militia groups in the United States. And there is no bigger story than the infiltration of the Cons by these potentially terrorist groups. Many Cons both supported and helped finance the trucker terrorists, and for that they must be investigated and hopefully charged. New legislation is coming in that will make it a little easier to go after the bigots and hate mongers in this country, but it will be up to all of us to go after the Con right-wing extremists like we never have before...
ReplyDeleteHi Pierre...I agree with you, Poilievre is still beating a drum for the terrorist truckers under the mistaken belief that most Canadians feel like he does, which couldn't be further from the truth. Most Canadians are sick and tired of being pushed around by those brutish and illiterate thugs with their insane conspiracy theories. And you're right, Poilievre will never be able to live down his support for them. It may help him win the Con leadership, but the material we have will make him look like a terrorist himself, and kill his chances of becoming Prime Minister. And I'm hoping, also sideline the Cons for a long long time....
ReplyDeleteHi JD....I don't know what has got into Steve, and a couple of other of my readers. I can understand if they like the Russians for family or other reasons. But defending a mass murderer like Putin is simply beyond the pale. It's clear that the Russians are acting in a bestial manner, murdering, raping, looting and nobody should support that kind of genocidal behaviour. I have always had a soft spot for the Russians, and I feel sorry for all the humiliations they have had to endure. But unless those who truly love that country can help remove Putin from power, Russia will be the country that pays the highest price for this murderous insanity...
ReplyDeletePoilievre is catering to the 25% described in the attached article, but how he plans on expanding his base is not clear. Hitler managed to do it but there was a festering meme about how the Germans were winning the first world war and were betrayed into surrender by minority groups in their own country. The Freedumb anti-vaxx conspiracy movement does not have the same power even if it is extended to involve inflation, the WEF and central banks. Its all just too confusing, the Fascist crowd like to keep it simple such as; you betrayed me now you are dead! The Poilievre story seems like a dead end but who knows where money, lies and a little luck can take him. It would be a mistake to think its over especially the betrayal and dead part.

Hi Simon, I agree with you 100%. I feel sorry for the Russians who've lived under the Putin regime of lies for so long yet they still managed to learn the truth of who and what he is. And I can't blame those over there who support him based on the alt-reality world he leads them to believe. What I find there's no excuse for is people over here who have access to a multitude of media and western democracies who repeatedly document and report on Putin's reign of terror and atrocities, yet they still choose to side with him. Fortunately, none of my friends or acquaintances believe Putin's bullshit and if they did I would try to convince otherwise and if that didn't work then it would be bye bye.

Hi RT....That conspiracy theory is deeply disturbing, and it partially explains why Poilievre can get away with spouting such crazed nonsense. Why this could happen in a supposedly educated country like Canada, is something I find hard to understand. Clearly our educations system, particularly at the High School level, is severely deficient. But it also must have something to do with the pandemic that has triggered sky rocketing rates of mental illness. We have a very sick population and quite frankly unless we can get past this moment, I worry about the future of this country...
ReplyDeleteHi JD....I feel sorry for some of the Russian soldiers who are young and naive and are being led to the slaughter by Putin and his war criminals. But I don't feel sorry at all for others who have been committing atrocities against civilians and disgracing themselves and their country. And like you I have only contempt for any Canadians who don't accept that the Russians have been torturing and murdering civilians. It's an established fact, the ICC has been collecting evidence all over the place, and my hope is that one day some of those responsible will be brought to justice. It's a faint hope, but it's something....
