The Day Donald Trump Was Finally Muzzled

For a man who hates losing so much, Donald Trump has lost a lot recently.

He lost the election, he lost the Senate, he lost more than sixty court cases in a row.

His attempt to use a MAGA mob to overthrow the results of the election failed so miserably, he was finally forced to concede he was a loser.

And now Nancy Pelosi is demanding that he resign or be impeached.

But for Trump this must be the most painful blow of all.

Having his Twitter account permanently suspended.

Twitter on Friday banned President Trump from its site, a punishment for his role in inciting violence at the U.S. Capitol this week, robbing him of the megaphone he used to communicate directly with more than 88 million supporters and critics.

The move amounted to a historic rebuke for a president who had used the social-networking site to fuel his rise to political prominence. Twitter has been Trump’s primary communication tool to push policies, drive news cycles, fire officials, spread falsehoods, savage opponents and praise allies.

And needless to say he's not happy....

A defiant Trump lashed out in response late Friday, accusing Twitter in a statement of having “coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left” to remove his account.

But of course Twitter is right, Trump is a walking Molotov cocktail looking for any way to set his country on fire.

What his MAGA mob did to the Capitol must never be forgotten.

They took a dump on American democracy — literally.

Some of the unhinged pro-Trump rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday defecated inside the historic building and “tracked” their feces in several hallways, the Daily News has learned.

And getting rid of Trump's stench from Twitter has a lot of people celebrating.

With this one being being my favourite tweet...

Followed closely by this one...

But of course, if Trump is losing his marbles, that only makes him even more dangerous...

So the sooner he is removed from the White House, by whatever means necessary.

And sent to the place where as you know I ALWAYS felt he belonged.

The safer we'll all be....

    Oh brave, brave Big Donnie,
    So unfit for the job,
Too scared to leave the White House,
    he raised himself a mob.

I won BIGLY, they're stealing the election!

    Bravely bold Big Donnie,
    Loved tweeting from the loo,
    He goaded his supporters,
    to orchestrate a coup.
Get the weak ones out. This is a time for strength
You will never take our country back with weakness

But when liability reared it's head,
He bravely changed his tune and fled.
    Brave, strong Big Donnie.
My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote

And when his mob made too much fuss,
he bravely threw them under the bus.
    Brave, loyal Big Donnie.
To demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol: you have defiled the seat of American democracy

    So gallantly he chickened out,
His love for riots fizzled out,
Bravest of the brave, Big Donnie!

No I am the bravest, I'm the strongest too. I'm not a coward, it's all fake news!
    FAAAKE NEWWSS!

  2. For allowing him and his cult acolytes like Alex Jones and Breitbart to wreak havoc upon civilization for so long, the major social media websites, ISPs and web hosting providers still need to be held accountable. They got their pounds of flesh and their billions of dollars from letting it go for this long. All they've done is to close the door well after the horses of the apocalypse have already left the barn.

60 Minutes on CBS News did a report on a heretofore obscure clause in U.S. law that Joe Biden wants to rescind, that for the most part shielded Internet providers from liability for their users' contributions. Big Tech managed to strongarm a similar clause into the new NAFTA, and there is some confusion as to how far a domestic repeal of the now infamous Section 230 will go if Facebook et. al. can still appeal to the WTO.

The case against a certain free-for-all X-rated website headquartered in Montreal and whether its owners should be held liable for subscribers who participated in illegal activities, is said to offer a template for civil actions against web hosts for user-generated content that cause harm to the community at large. I don't have reach in Canada but Simon, if you can exhort your followers to put pressure on the Liberal government to raise this issue with the incoming Biden administration, it would be a tremendous boon to both our countries. As well to nudge them to make good on their proposals to both reintroduce and strengthen Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

The following articles offer more reading material on exactly what needs to happen in order for Zuckerberg and his ilk to be called on the carpet for what they've wrought once and for all.

It is with mixed emotions that I view Twitter finally shutting down the confligrator in chief. Elation that his favorite toy has been taken from him and anger that it was allowed to go on for so long. It's kinda like Joseph Goebbels telling Hitler, "It's been great while it lasted Mein Führer but it's over." as the Allies and Russians are closing in. Same goes for Ceasar Zuckerberg. Trying to save face and wash their blood stained hands. Good luck with that.
Thank you for those links, Jackie(I love Jackie-pedia). I didn't know Biden was hoping to rescind that clause and I pray it works. It's long overdue that these websites and social media platforms are held accountable for what their users publish. Without it, the deplorables will simply carry on as usual with law enforcement literally handcuffed to do anything substantial about it. Putting the onus on the providers would be a tremendous blow to the real purveyors of hate and fake news and if they're forced to fact check every single posting then so be it. It simply cannot continue as it is.
As I revel in Trump having pressed his self-destruct button and look forward to his future complete destruction, I'm also reveling in the blowback our decrepit Cons are receiving for their Trumpy attempts at mimicking him. Trump is finally getting his comeuppance and one day soon, so will Erin O'Trump and his O'Trumplings.

Section 230 cuts both ways. Trump wanted the legal protections scrapped so he could sue the social media providers for blocking/labeling his right to "free speech". Trump has perfected the fine art of using law suits to beat non conformers into submission. Lawsuits were his weapon of choice in his assault on democracy ...be careful in what you wish for!

I fear this is just the start of America's Civil War, 2.0.
What we are witnessing is a prologue, not an epilogue.
I'm loathe to admit this, but Donald Trump can't be muzzled.
In time, I fear that his followers will make him a martyr.

  6. Hi anon@3:12pm....Thank you for that poem. I quite enjoyed it. The comments I receive are a cut above those on other PB blogs, and I am truly grateful...

  7. Hi Jackie....I am wary of legislation aimed at social media sites. It could be abused by our enemies to attack and close down progressive sites. I do agree that people Zuckerberg need to be reined in, but there must be some other way that can be done....

  8. Hi JD....AS I told Jackie I want to see social media better regulate themselves, but I am wary about going overboard so that sites like Twitter could be sued out of business. I would also like to see our government toughen its hate laws, so those who threaten our leaders can be punished. The far right has been allowed to get away with murder since Harper removed controls on people like Ezra Levant. But right now let’s just enjoy the thought of the muzzled Trump, finally....

  9. Hi RT....I don’t think that Trump could have sued Twitter for giving him the boot. It’s a private country so it could do what it wants, and for the most part it does a good job of regulating itself. I know a lot of people say that it should have given Trump the boot long ago, but he was the President so I understand why they hesitated. But yes please, after those four years from hell, never again....

  10. Hi anon@9’23 AM,,,,I agree, I too feel like we could be on the verge of a very bloody confrontation, and we are sleepwalking to disaster. The police and the military must use maximum force to nip in the bud. I checked out some of the comments at Breitbart yesterday and the number of crazy MAGA maggots screaming about a civil war was scary,,,,
