Donald Trump might have been spewing Covid in every direction, but he just couldn't stay away from that balcony.
He had to be there. He had to feel the love of his Trumpanzees, even if it killed him, or them.
And now I know why.
It seems our nasty bloated Covita really DOES have a thing for the real Evita.
In his 2004 book, “Trump: Think Like a Billionaire: Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life,” Trump wrote, “My favorite Broadway show is 'Evita' by Andrew Lloyd Webber, starring Patti LuPone. I saw it six times, mostly with Ivana,” his first wife.
And some believe they know why.
Amanda Eubanks Winkler, an associate professor of music history at Syracuse University, noted the similarities between Trump, a former reality TV star turned president, and Peron, a former radio star who became a policy making first lady.
Both were able to fool the poor and the desperate into thinking they were on their side.
Evita vowed to audiences that “all my Descamisados expect me to outshine the enemy -- the aristocracy -- I won't disappoint them.”
Evita was able to appeal to the Descamisados (the shirtless ones) even though she liked to wear really expensive fur coats...
While Trump has his own suckers.
Eubanks Winkler noted that decades later Trump’s victory was due in part to his version of the Descamisados, the “forgotten men and women” that he vowed “will be forgotten no longer” during his election night victory speech in 2016.
The ones who still believe in him...
Even if he finds them disgusting.
Several people who have dealt extensively with Mr. Trump have suggested that he takes a dubious, even disdainful view of his most loyal followers. He takes them for granted because he knows they would forgive him for anything: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters.”
But then Covita is more like Evita's husband Juan Peron...
Who like Trump was also no working class hero.
But did have to be removed from power by force, like Covita Trump may have to be...
If after he is defeated he refuses to leave the White House.
So it's all looking good. The polls are great.
The White House is now the Covid House...
And hopefully somewhere in that ghastly building, in just 23 days, a toilet will soon flush.
And the Covita Monster will finally be sent to the place where he so rightfully belongs...

It has been a neverending nightmare.
But with a little luck it will be over soon...
It may be 23 days until e-day, but the two months afterward are going to be the real "second wave" that threatens to come back with a vengeance. Bolton is an enabling, craven warmonger in and of himself, but as he told Evan on CTV this morning, he fears the last-ditch vendetta of the monster he helped create. Psychopath identifying a psychopath? Takes one to know one, I guess.
ReplyDeleteTrudeau would only speak of possible "disruptions" from the mutant species of elephant that his father identified some fifty years ago. One can only imagine the kind of intel briefings he gets, and the scenarios for which everyone from CBP to the CSIS have made contingency plans. There's nothing like a cornered beast willing to burn the place down on his way out. Hell hath no fury like a malignant narcissist scorned.
But instead of devoting all their resources to fighting the pandemic *and* the potential for massive unrest in the decaying empire next door, members of the Liberal government are having to waste time fighting stupid, sadistic ransom demands at the various parliamentary committees from a rabid-canine opposition, bereft of ideas and unwilling to let go of the Trudeau family voodoo dolls they're addicted to gnawing on. Priorities.
Ironically, many Nazis fled to Argentina after the war, where they were eventually hunted down by the likes of Simon Wiesenthal. In an ideal world, if Trump and his thugs and cronies don't end up behind bars, they'd be sent packing to some desolate no man's land in South America along with their wannabe copycats like Angus, Julian and Poilievre, who have taken the fine art of Trumpian personal vendettas and conspiracy theorizing over emails, speaking engagements and charity foundations to new levels of absurdity with their Clintonization of the Trudeaus. A new generation of Wiesenthals would then emerge to give them a good "talking to" in more ways than one. In this world however, for now it's Trump who faces a long-overdue curtain call on this bad off-off-off-Broadway horror show. Grab the Vaudeville cane and yank him off the stage already.
Typhoid Donnie's ready to hit the road on his Cirque du Spread tour, wowing audiences with that infectious smile and rambling distortions of anything and everything. Will Covita be singing his swan song in the ninety degree heat forecast for his Florida stop? Maybe. He's so drugged up right now that anything is possible. What I'd like to see is Covita, while addressing his deplorable flock, start coughing uncontrollably, throw up and shit himself on stage. That would effectively shut down his future Bullshit-Paloozas and show the true nature of his battle with Covid 19. It would also be quite entertaining. I don't wish him dead as a higher power will determine when to turn off his utilities. I want to see him be thoroughly humiliated and thoroughly defeated in the election. And then, completely spent of cash and once his legal battles have come crashing down on him, he himself will wish he were dead. "Don't cry for me Don Covita..."

O/T but since I brought up bad performance art in my earlier comment: Simon, you got a Halloween cartoon somewhere about a zombie fake scandal? Maybe draw Skippy with a green face wearing a WE shirt.

The insufferable little prick can't even let this go for *Thanksgiving*. He needs serious help, and by serious help I mean a good swift sock in the face. Shoo bird. Go shit on someone else. Go crap on a John A. Macdonald statue.
If it wasn't obvious to anyone before that this was always a WeGhazi, But His WeMails, Clintonesque witch hunt, they haven't been paying attention. Cons must have read the polls and Skippy got miffed that Wayne Easter pulled the plug to shut him up. Trudeau has every right to refuse to send the documents, and force the axis of evil to vote non confidence if this is supposedly such a big deal. It's obvious nobody else cares about the pandemic so he might as well force an election anyway.
Mark Bourrie's latest has been making the rounds in response. What Pigeon Pierre and Charlie Anus did to those brothers, aided by Jesse Brownshirt and the pack-hungry media, was shameful. Not to mention their continued persecution against the Trudeau and Morneau families.

When he said it was like watching the destruction of a child star he meant the K-brothers. But it applies to Justin too. The media all adored him until he upstaged them by following Papa's line of work and flying too close to the sun.
By the way, I wrote my own piece with some quick advice to PMJT. It has to do with a similar hit job on Jean Charest that he should take note of. Three words: Paging Julian Porter. It's time to pull the plug on this clusterfuck minority government, and for Justin Trudeau to sue for reputational damage and pain and suffering inflicted upon his family. Nothing about the non-crime of forgetting to opt out of a Zoom call justifies the pitchfork-populist politics that has resulted from this.

Close to ten thousand people are dead from a virus and Skippy wants to waste time and taxpayer dollars on this crap. Enough already. This bullshit needs to stop NOW.
Technology is transforming the world at an ever accelerating pace much to the dismay of the Republicons stuck in the past with little new to offer the average voter. Seeing the writing on the wall they embarked on a combination of old strategies to retain political power with less than 50% of the popular vote and to very slowly modernize their political platform for broader appeal. It was essentially a nickle and dime approach eventually doomed to failure as the technological transformation continued to accelerate. Then along came Covita Trump with a new simplistic plan. Essentially stretch the left - right elastic band bonding the nation together until it breaks and poof the center implodes leaving the space to be filled by Covita Trump and his sorry family dynasty. The authoritarian leader in waiting. Biden, many of his followers and some Republicans understand that in the long term it really does't matter who breaks the bond as the vacuum will be filled by a strong man/men and all authoritarians place themselves first. Hopefully they will be successful and Trump will experience the defeat he and his enablers so richly deserve.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed thanksgiving Simon, even if personal interactions were limited.

This guy is just insane. What else can one say really?

Hi Jackie...I always forget that although the American election is in early November the president doesn't step down until January, so as you say, that two month gap could be a real nightmare. Especially since Trump knows that once he's out of office he can be charged, put on trial, and hopefully jailed. I wonder what country Trump might choose to go into exile. I don't care whether it's Russia or Paraguay, as long as it's not Canada. I'd hate to be the one who has to arrest him...
ReplyDeleteHi JD....I must admit that Trump’s apparent energy both surprises and disappoints me. Most Covid patients are usually exhausted and just want to rest a lot. So I suspect that drugs may be a factor. Ever since I saw a picture of his family doctor before he became president I fear that Trump demands that doctors provide him with whatever drugs he says he needs. It’s scandalous and any doctors who go along should be expelled from the profession. Like you I hope that Trump is thoroughly humiliated if only as an example for others. And of course a stiff prison sentence would be a bonus....๐
ReplyDeleteHi RT....Thank you, I had a very quiet Thanksgiving, which was boring but beautiful. In my present state of Pandemica I can't do anything TOO exciting. I have to save my remaining nerves for the U.S. election. Seriously though, what worries me the most is that Trump's voter suppression campaign will work and result in a close result which in turn could cause widespread violent unrest. Since I've eaten most of the emergency supplies I got at the beginning of the pandemic, I've got some serious shopping to do...
ReplyDeleteHi WayWayUp...Nice to hear from you, I hope you are well and staying safe. I don't know if Trump is insane but he's pretty close. I read a really good psychiatric analysis of Trump that stripped him down to a primeval psychopath, who in my opinion is also under the influence of drugs (probably steroids) that are making him manic. Nobody talks about the nuclear codes anymore, but I'll worry about them until I see Trump leaving the Covid House, hopefully in handcuffs...
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie...Poilievre may be making a lot of noise, but I doubt his demands to revive the fake WE scandal will gain much traction. Most Canadians want the government to focus on the pandemic. And if Poilievre and company push too hard it will hurt them, and the Trudeau government can use the disruption as an excuse to to call an election. Whether or not we should have one, the Liberals are ready, or almost ready...
