Justin Trudeau and the Cons Who Would Kill Him

Two weeks ago after a man tried to attack Justin Trudeau at the Climate March in Montreal, I warned that the threats against Trudeau were escalating out of control.

And that the toxic Trudeau haters were becoming more and more menacing.

Well, this was the scene at a Liberal rally in Mississauga yesterday evening.

Frank Gunn

With Trudeau surrounded by tactical officers and forced to wear a bulletproof vest to protect him from some kind of murderous threat.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau wore a bulletproof vest on stage amid heavy security at a campaign rally after a security threat, senior Liberal sources tell CBC News.

Uniformed tactical officers wearing heavy backpacks surrounded the Liberal leader as he addressed the crowd. His wife, Sophie Grรฉgoire Trudeau, was initially supposed to introduce him but did not appear on stage.

It was a deeply disturbing scene, but nobody could be surprised. Not when Andrew Scheer and his Cons have been whipping up hatred against Trudeau for more than two years.

And his ugly supporters have been allowed to get away with violent messages like this one.

Or this grotesque Facebook message paid for by the Manning Centre.

An anti-Liberal election ad paid for by the Manning Centre has been taken down by Facebook for excessively violent content.

The ad, one of a number of intense ads the Manning Centre is funding through third-party groups it supports, shows actor Keanu Reeves buried up to his neck in the dirt, looking at a mobile phone showing Justin Trudeau, saying, in French: “Thank you for the second mandate.”

So much for the pious parson Preston Manning.

But it's not just the Cons who have been demonizing Trudeau, so have the NDP with attack ads like this one.
Which makes it sound like Trudeau is cutting medical services for sick soldiers, when in fact all his government is doing is demanding that hospitals charge the military they same as they do civilians.

And has nothing to do with the quality of care those sick soldiers receive.

So much for the pious hypocrite Jagmeet Singh, who like Scheer is definitely not as advertised.

You know, yesterday before I heard about what had happened at that Liberal rally, I tweeted this to try to explain why I hate bullies so much.

And I consider what the Cons and other toxic Trudeau haters are trying to do as just more of the same.

It's evil, it's disgusting, it's cowardly, and there should be no place for that kind of behaviour in Canada.

But since the Cons are growing increasingly desperate I fear somebody might try again to kill Trudeau before the election.

And the good news?

Just like the bullies couldn't intimidate me, the Con hate mongers can't intimidate Justin Trudeau...

So all I can say is this:

Andrew Scheer, Preston Manning, Jagmeet Singh, take a good hard look.

For that is what a real Canadian prime minister looks like...

  1. Told you Jagoff Sanders was a self-serving hypocrite. The Dippers are no better than Cons. They're livid that Trudeau stole their thunder in 2015 and salivating to get their revenge. "Muh electoral reform" as though that's all it's about. They're united with Cons by their mutual hatred and jealousy of Trudeau, playing the long game to eliminate the competition one way or another. They're doing exactly what the Bernouts did to Hillary, riling up hate and spreading negativity. Very fine people on both sides. This really is U.S. political warfare infecting the northern border. Michael Wernick was condemned as a partisan trying to distract from SNC but he's turned out to be correct. If something happens to Justin Trudeau and/or anyone in his family, the blood will be on the hands of Mr. fake Love & Courage as well as Mr. fake insurance broker Nazi McDimpleface Rebel scum stormtrooper. Not as advertised indeed.

I still hope Trudeau squeaks through a 1972-style razor thin minority this go-around, but regardless of the electoral outcome I think at some point he's going to have to leave Canada and go into hiding for his own safety. There's "Just watch me" and there's JFK North. These people are nuts.

No one and I mean no one is doing hate more than the Liberal trolls across social media right now and your remarks as of late are living proof of this. The Liberal Shitterverse and the other social media trolls are in full meltdown and attack mode given the latest developments in the polls.

Meanwhile I see you, Simon and the rest of the trolls have all received your talk turkey talking points for the holiday weekend. No wonder you're all screaming about the same thing. Enjoy trolls, because pretty soon you phony representatives of positive politics and sunny ways are about to be hoisted by your own petards.

I'm not sure what alt-right universe you're transmitting from Comrade Jerkoff, but I suspect you belong to the Klingon empire with a mission to help the biggest Klingon of all(Scheer) get elected. Seeing how Scheer still clings on Harper's ass, it's only a matter of time before a super nova erupts and he's swallowed up by a super-massive black hole. "Beam me up, Hamish!!!!"

    4. Hi anon @5:07....I write a blog, and I don't troll anyone, so what are you talking about? You've been calling me a troll for years, when you should be really looking in a mirror. As for being hoisted on a petard may I suggest that your beloved ugly American is the one who is about to be hoisted by all those disappointed Cons.....

    5. Hi JD....I know, nobody accuse the Cons of being self aware. They are the greatest generators of hate in this country, and yet still find time to wail like crybabies.I'm told by those who study them in the pathology labs of the nation that it is another consequence of their enlarged amygdala or fear glands. I have suggested that all Cons be operated on at an early age before they start acting out, but so far no takers...๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I voted already. Unlikely any big change from 2015 except the re emergence of the block. Weak Andy on the surface looks less malevolent that dear leader. However he carries even more baggage. Here is to four more liberal majority years, and please get rid of first past the post so no future election can enslave Canada every again.

The polls might suggest the Conservatives are running neck-and-neck with the Liberals, but it's hard to know for sure without the numbers, said a longtime Conservative organizer in Ontario, also given anonymity to speak about internal matters.

"My gut feeling is that the polls are giving us a false sense that we are more competitive than we are," the organizer said.

I sure hope that guy's gut is correct. Fingers crossed.

I would feel sorry for Sheer-idiocy but then I remember he is actively participating in a dangerous hate and violence campaign.

    4. Hi Steve....I'm glad you are feeling so optimistic, but I have to say I don't share that happy feeling. In the last election the desire to get rid of Harper was so strong, that it papered over the cracks in the divided left. This year those divisions are only too evident and they could even lead to a Con majority....

  3. I think that providers of medical services gouge the provincial workers' compensation boards as third party participants in the same way that they appear to have been gouging the military. By listening to the complaints now coming from the provinces it would also seem that their providers and systems have become so accustomed to the subsidy provided through the practice, that it's now integral to their revenue streams. While I'm reluctant to fault the government or the DND for what they've to do, I think we need to know more of the details. One of the media reports stated that the DND has initially reduced payments to the level at which the federal government reimburses the provinces for the medical care of refugees. What gives there?

    1. Hi John...I can't answer your last question. But If it's true it's a real scandal. However when you look at the big picture, in just four years the Trudeau government has made a big difference in the way sick veterans are treated. Improving our health system is a massive challenge that requires big changes to hospitals, community clinics, senior homes, at home care etc etc. But in the polarized country we live in that's almost impossible...

I can't believe that all of this is happening in Canada. Where did all these haters come from? How can this country be so successful and still be the home of so many unhappy people?

    1. Hi anon...I share your dismay, but the reasons are complex. I believe that almost ten years of Harper corrupted and divided Canadians. And the arrival of Trump only made the situation worse. Most people don't realize how much Scheer is a product of the American religious right. It's like a body that can't recognize a new virus, and unless we can recognize the new dangers we face this country may not survive....

      Hi Jackie
Thanks for the link. I am surprised to see this commentary in the National Post but its better late than never as it suggests their reader have finally realized the Reformacons have wandered over the line. Anyone following the Con inspired propaganda knows that this is old news but finally the MSM algorithms must be starting to indicate the general public is pushing back against framing a Canadian politician as a treasonous villain that should be dispatched by .... the option is your choice. This was carried into the debates where Scheer refused to acknowledge Trudeau as human and constantly tried to talk over anything he said.... it was only during the last debate in french that the moderator called him out on it. The hate filled propaganda that the Reformacons have unleashed is simply not Canadian and hopefully they will pay the price. Ironically in order to win the election all they had to do was appoint a successful self made winner with a little charisma as leader and let the Liberal bungles play into their hands. Times are uncertain and people want to believe in fairy tales such as a leader with documented financial smarts can lead them to a better place. It is most certainly not Scheer and hopefully by the time the next election cycle rolls around this particular fairy tale will also be a non starter. There is no magic bullet it just takes a little vision and investment in social and physical capital to build on what our predecessors have given us.

  6. Ok, the fact that Mr. Trudeau had to wear a flak vest is messed up. I hope that Mr. Trudeau can point to that event when his government introduces new measures to bring our hate speech laws into the 21st Century by really beginning to address hate speech on-line.

With the election and now that he's in the spotlight, Scheer finally condemns threats against JT, via tweet. Wow! How belated and hollow is that? It's like the fox expressing condolences for the chicken massacre while wiping feathers from the corners of his mouth.

    https://election.ctvnews.ca/singh-says-ndp-would-form-coalition-with-the-liberals-to-stop-tories-1.4637074

Anything to lull voters into a false sense of security so they feel comfortable spoiling their ballots. Um, this paragraph seems pretty relevant as to why this is a bad idea to announce:

In 2008, the Liberals and NDP formed a coalition with a written letter of support from the Bloc, that intended to topple the minority Conservative government under former prime minister Stephen Harper. To avoid losing power, Harper prorogued Parliament, and by the time the House of Commons resumed almost two months later, the Liberals had undergone a leadership change and the prospect of a coalition with the NDP dissolved.

Harper called the idea of the coalition an attempt to seize power by an "unelected" government, a line he repeated during the 2011 election when he worked to convince voters to give him a majority government rather than risk a coalition.

Some Conservative pundits and online voices have been warning of the idea of a coalition already, and it could become fodder for Scheer this week now that Singh has put it right out in the open.

Canadians don't do "coalitions" as 2008 clearly demonstrated, and this is a pretty hamfisted way to force ad-hoc PropRep. Can't win outright so why not throw a spanner in the works and watch helplessly as the other guy shuts down the government to stop the bigger "team" from playing ball. Probably why all those referendums failed and why the electoral reform meme is a ridiculous hill to die on! Has he heard the name George Santayana? Does this idiot know who Scheer works for and why he thinks Brexit is cool???

There are other things to be than a Republicon or a corporate Liberal. I've worked and taken part in social movements for decades.

Canadians do do Coalitions; if not we wouldn't have health care. Why are you imposing the US presidential system on other countries?

I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with bullies when you were so young Simon. Bullying is a terrible problem in our schools, and we need to do more to fight it. We have made some progress, but too many teachers don't want to get inviolved, so the problem goes on and on. If school boards allowed the police to deal with bullies, I'm sure that in a few months the problem would be under control. I can also understand why you dislike Scheer and his Cons so much, because they really are bullies.

    1. Hi anon...Thank you for your concern, and yes bullying is still a huge problem everywhere. There is no issue that bothers me more than that one, and it is probably the biggest reason I hate the Cons so much. However I don't want you to think that I consider myself a victim, because I don't. On one summer holiday I spent time in Glasgow, and took a "course" in the Glasgow School of Street and Knife fighting. So when I returned to Canada I was more than able to hold my own....
