Why The Fake Scandal Is Now More Dead Than Alive

Well the fake scandal is now more than a month old, and it's starting to look its age. A little wizened, a little flaky, a little green around the gills

But if you thought it might finally keel over, or return to its crypt, before it drives most decent Canadians crazy.

Well I'm sorry to say you're going to be disappointed.

For the creepy Cons and the slobbering Con media would like it to continue for at least another eight months, or all the way to the next election.

With Andrew Scheer demanding that Justin Trudeau let Jody Wilson-Raybould speak further.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau must lift a "gag order" and ensure Jody Wilson-Raybould can speak the full truth about her decision to leave cabinet, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said Sunday.

The SNC-Lavalin controversy has exposed a crisis of moral and ethical leadership in Trudeau's office, Scheer said at a news conference in Ottawa, adding an online campaign is underway to support Wilson-Raybould.

Even though she's free to stand up in the House of Commons and use her parliamentary privilege to speak "her truth" whenever she wants.

And this is just another way to let his ex-Rebel campaign manager Hamish Marshall data mine the Con faithful, or those dumb enough to give him their names and e-mail addresses.

But one can understand why Scheer can't get enough of the fake scandal, for according to the latest Abacus tracking poll it has given him a small boost.

Even though Trudeau has opened up an eight point lead as preferred prime minister.

And with only about 40 per cent of Canadians closely following the fake scandal, a number that hasn't really budged since the day Wilson-Rayboult spoke "her truth."

It's clear that whatever the Cons and their slobbering media stooges say or do, this scandal is on its last legs.

Or as I said on Twitter yesterday, those trying to milk it for all its worth are bound to be disappointed.

But when the fake scandal finally does keel over, it will as I have said before, have proved useful in several respects.

It has revealed the Con media to be the enemies of the truth who must be boycotted into submission, and hopefully driven out of business.

It has shown us who the dirty old Trudeau haters are, including those in our midst who masquerade as progressives. And they will have to be dealt with harshly as well, and shunned by all decent Canadians.

And lastly but not leastly it has once again shown us the true face of the alt-right extremist Andrew Scheer.

Who will do anything to seize power and take us back to a darker age, or as the Toronto Sun says back to the Harper era.

And for that reason alone must be attacked like he never has been before.

And along with his filthy un-Canadian Cons, totally crushed if our country is to avoid a fate worse than death...

JWR had her chance to speak and left out a few things (like withholding the SNC report from Cabinet). Butts - and others - filled-in the “other side’s” perspective. If JWR was to say anything more about SNC the prosecutors would probably have to drop the charges.

  2. Why the hell was CTV interviewing Ben Mulroney this weekend? Other than to prove once and for all that this is tabloid entertainment and not "news"? Or to prove a point that de facto dictatorships are better for "good governance," because you can bet that his sister wouldn't leak anything about Dick Tater Doug. Add Andrew Coyne's psychotic cousin-spite and Bill Wilson's continued mouthing off and you come to realize that Canadian politics is incestuous. It's not even politics because it has SFA to do with policy. It's a shouting match and drunk fisticuffs at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

This is so fucking stupid. It's a contrived and coordinated hit job to attack Trudeau on the PR front, not just make him lose reelection but destroy his career and reputation as a person. To make him the most hated man in Canada... well, except in Québec, which the ROC hates anyway and which probably would do well to quit the ROC once and for all. The NYT (which has severely dropped in respect among Americans for their atrocious coverage of Hillary Clinton) was even chiming in, asking whether women would stand by the "feminist" (intentional scare quotes on their part) PM. Meanwhile, all of a sudden Ezra of all people has developed a newfound respect for Celina, whose husband is now making the circuits calling Justin a racist bully who dared yell at a strong black woman. So on top of everything else, Media Canada decides to make this a race war! Way to deflect from Aryan Andy and his Neon Nazis, eh?

What a sad, sad farce. Even the AP said this was a "no-sex, no money scandal" and yet it's being blown up at home like Watergate on top of Russiagate on top of the Catholic Church. Amid all the fake sympathy for the put-upon women (how feminist is that, to treat them like damsels in distress?), a trio of grandstanding narcissists who I'm sure are loving their time in the spotlight right now, they've dehumanized Trudeau himself. He's being called a woman-beater, a pedophile and now a racist. They just had to turn Trudeau into "Trump North" even as the actual Trump North is courting believers in Pizzagate and riling up Rebel scum to chant LOCK HIM UP. Does anyone care how the Trudeau children might be feeling if they see any of this? Doubt it. Maybe not Hadrien as he's still little, but Xavier and Ella are old enough that they must be tangentially aware. Justin even brought Xavier along to take pictures with Adam Scotti, and the goon squad was bullying Xavier too. Can you say Chelsea Clinton, Malia and Sasha Obama? I feel so bad for the Trudeau family right now, and wish I could just give them all a big cross-border hug. None of them deserve this filth. Look what the Brits do to the Duchess of Sussex. Canada wants that? Oh, right. English Canada does.

The only sane coverage of this is happening in Québec, and they're sick of it. They're disgusted. They're looking at how the Ottawa/Toronto Con media has gone full Jerry Springer, Fox News, TMZ, and absolutely lost their minds. The Sun was even picking on Alex Trebek because they're just awful. They're not discussing the merits of DPAs, they've gone all-in on their Diana-in-the-tunnel mission to destroy "the people's PM." Here's a good article from La Presse about how Media Canada is insecure, made themselves the story, and is now taking sadistic delight in tearing down the prince of their own creation.

    http://plus.lapresse.ca/screens/94465a0a-a71e-443c-9e65-bc7052fd90c1__7C___0.html

Reading it only made me feel even more sympathetic for Justin Trudeau. Painfully so, in fact. They've treated him like a child star who grew up and got too successful for their liking, and now they want to chew him to bits. Sheesh, they're going about this like he's Michael Jackson.

A pox on all their houses.

    1. Hi Jackie...Yes it is a sad farce, the Con media's coverage of the fake scandal is beyond the pale, and amounts to the closest thing I have ever seen to a very Canadian coup. As for Yves Boisvert's column, I quite enjoyed it too. Canada can be a very parochial country and now we are paying the price....

That cartoon of the three opposition parties milking the scandal summed it up perfectly. It's pretty obvious that the only reason that Andrew Scheer (or anybody else for that matter) wants more people involved to talk is to keep the story on the front page.

What continues to baffle me is what the NDP or the Greens think they're going to gain by joining the Tories in attacking on this issue. The NDP in particular have more problems to deal with than just damaging the governing Liberals. If they think this is how they get the megaphone, they're sorely mistaken. They need to figure out what they're all about and hammer that home rather than playing into this grade school-level nonsense.

Bernier is smart to stay out of it. If there is a change of attitude, he can say he wasn't involved.

    3. Hi KM...I liked that cartoon too. And although some of my NDP friends were angry what do they expect? Since he won his seat Jagmeet has been working closely with the Cons, and for that matter so has Elizabeth May. My position is that progressive parties must never collaborate with the Cons, but instead try to attract progressives with new ideas and policies. Hitching a ride with the Cons on this fake scandal will only hurt them in the long run.

Frank Graves at EKOS is now reporting the same thing. The numbers have returned to where they were before the “scandal” erupted. What a waste of time, the Con media must be so proud of itself. I agree with you, we must find some way to punish them and the Cons.

Simon I'm worried about Omar Khadr. The Rebel's ghastly Sheila "Gunner" Reid has pretty much doxed him. They posted the addresses of two properties of his in a video, including his residence. They are trying to incite a mob. I hope the RCMP gets involved before a Canadian hero like Khadr gets hurt.

    2. Yes, he is. A child soldier brainwashed by his demented father, and whose human rights were violated by the previous fascist regime. And which continue to be threatened and violated by the leftovers of that fascist regime that are banging at the doors to get back into power.

I'd say Khadr is more of a hero than the soap-opera actress JWR or anyone on her pathetic "team." Nothing was done to "victimize" her and yet she's being hailed as some kind of shero who "spoke truth to power." As she let countless others rot in prison under Harper's mandatory minimums because she was a shit AG and couldn't handle THE truth.

You may recall that her muckraking buddy Bob Fife has a role to play in an innocent Muslim man being tortured too. Mahar Arar is a Canadian hero and so is Omar Khadr.

    3. PR GUY7:48 PM

Nope, call him a victim if you want. Nothing he did was heroic. He gets a pass as a brain-washed child soldier from the Khadr clan.
JWR had SFA to do with Khadr's doxing, as did Harper.
You tend to think in Liberal or Conservative years.
Khadr's imprisonment extended through two Liberal PMs and one Conservative PM.
He was out of prison by the time the apology master Trudeau swept into action.
As for Arar, the day after Oct 7, 2002 Bagram, Afghanistan interrogation; of Khadr, Arar was moved to Syria from JFK airport. Fingered by Khadr?
I'd say Arar was more the innocent victim in all of this.

don't know if he is a hero, but he is a Canadian and deserves to be left alone. Yes, he survived an unbearable childhood and to come out the other side working to get over it all, is a very good thing.

given some of the links between Ezra levant and Roger Stone, read they were both tabbacco lobbyists.

Now that would be much more informative to Canadian's the history of Hamish Marshall, Ezra levant, the link to Roger Stone, manafort, etc. that would be some good reporting, but doubt the msm will be going for it. They just don't like Trudeau or their employers don't.

Oh indubitaly. A 15 year old boy who has lived in Afghanistan (or Pakistan at times?) while being tortured just happens to mention a Canadian engineer who is returning from holidays in North Africa. Yep definitely.

I would not call Kahder a hero but he seems a remarkable young man who survived years of torture, imprisonment and abuse in US hands while being totally abandoned by his own government. However guilty the Liberal Governments were the sheer viciousness of his treatment by the Harper Govt once he was back in Canada was absolutely disgusting.

BTW, does anyone know where that phrase son of al-Qaeda royalty that Reid uses comes from? I first encountered it when reading the transcript of the slimey psychiatrist who testified in the Khadr lynching in Guantanamo. I wonder if that is where it came from and the Rebel just grabbed it?

    7. Hi anon @1:47 PM...Thanks for the link, even though reading the story almost made me vomit. That filthy Rebel and Sheika Gunn Reid really are a disgusting combination. I'm not that worried about Omar's safety, but since the strip mall is in Alberta I fear that somebody might try to torch it. But if somebody does that, and they are caught, and it can be linked to that Rebel article, Khadr would have grounds to sue Levant and hopefully drive him out of business. Which I'm sure you'll agree would be divine justice.,,

Let alone the perverse Hollywood tabloid angle interviewing spouses and family members, that's escalated to the extent of labeling Trudeau an abuser of women and a racist. Talk about DPAs, talk about Shawcross, talk about splitting the AG/MoJ role. But enough of this nonstop personal Schmear campaign that has fuck-all to do with the actual issues at hand, and is every bit a coordinated character-assassination campaign against a decent human being and a pretty good PM who's having his career and reputation ruined over some diva's "feelings," and unfairly being portrayed as Richard Milhouse Trump with better hair. Or "Justin Kavanaugh." "Believe women"? Comparing this to rape is abhorrent and offensive to actual rape victims and she is no Christine Blasey-Ford. This "scandal" would be an obscure blip on the radar if the media hadn't set the country on fire to tear apart Trudeau over the queen bitch's whiny little tattle-tale to Fife the Knife. Maybe Justin should take a look at what he’s accomplished and invoke some rights to reconsider, however belatedly. He doesn’t owe them anything. It might mollify some of the other kinds of people who call themselves “progressive” if he took some of it back. He was always a second choice anyway (maybe now even their third) and they’ve been piling up so much debt to the precious B&R segment, that there’s no telling how much damage will result from whatever nonsense their first choice will get up to if we ever let them get their grubby hands on the keys to the family wagon again. And I still don’t get how the media can wake up after being out cold for fifteen years and suddenly become so overwhelmed by an urge to run away with the circus. They’ve got more settling-down to consider than anybody.

The Cons with or without Sheer will eventually regret empowering JWR and setting the stage for a more independent AG. Cons love to set examples by bringing the full political force of the law down on individuals or small groups. Will be much more difficult to do if the AG doesn't do their bidding. Whatever JWR does after extracting her kilo of flesh it will likely involve further empowering/organizing the Aboriginal cause. Potentially some short term damage to the Libs but long term to the good old boys clubs who never saw a resource or a weakness they did not want to exploit.

To me its DEAD. Its a bore, but poor Scheer has to stick to it, its all he has got. He's a one trick pony. So I've moved on to listening to George Strait, George Jones, Lorri Morgan and Lari White. Found my opera records, all my old 50, 60's music stuff and life is good. Turned off the t.v. news except for international news.

If its just fun political scandals, the Trump saga is so much more fun. Latest is the spill over of the Robert Kraft arrest at the "massage parlour". Turns out the owner, Cindy Yang, has a string of them. Guess that's why they were investigating Kraft's favorite spot for sex trafficking. Lovely pictures up of her and Trump, Don Jr. and her, a Congressman--R, Sarah Palin and her. Even some suggestion AMerican intelligence is interested because her website advertised pictures with Trump and meetings at Mar a lo go for Chinese citizens. Some intelligence wonks are concerned because they don't know if they were "citizens" or "spies". they had 100 Chinese Citizens at a crowd of 400 in 2017 for a fund raiser in NYC for trump. that opens a whole lot of stuff around campaign fundraising. Now that's a soap opera worthy of time. The stuff here in Canada still doesn't have legs, as far as I'm concerned. We still don't know where Fife got his "information". don't know why the msm is so interested in they said and they said. What we have is a series of conversations where people weren't happy. Gee have any of these people ever gone to a regular work place?

Off to read discussions regarding the New Green Deal at Empty Wheel.

The Canadian media needs to do some real work on real issues. I vote they "investigate" Ford and the carryings on with the OPP and that van he wanted. Let the rest of the country go back to sleep or dealing with climate change.

I believe they keep flogging this dead horse because they are directed to do so by the hands that feed them. That and their disturbing JT Derangement Syndrome go hand in hand in this unprecedented spectacle of tabloid reporting. Let's not forget the leaked memo that directed Toronto sun reporters to shape the Ontario election coverage so it favoured Duh-g Ford. They in turn stated that, ahem, better put down your coffee, "they will not compromise their independence and integrity".

The sun is without a doubt, Fox News North and as they are now in the postmedia family of Con State Media, they should have their licenses revoked and force them to identify themselves for what they are, the propaganda arm of the Reform-a-Con party.

If anyone thinks the corporate honchoes aren't meddling in our news coverage, think again. The bulk of the outrage over this "scandal" emanates from Ontario and as per usual, Ontario will likely be where the election is won or lost. Coincidence? I think not. I don't know how we can counter that when all the media is now so Con even the once Liberal Toronto Star. We shall have to come up with a social media strategy to expose and take down fake stories or else we will find ourselves in the same trouble as the Democrats found themselves in at the end of their last election campaign. We should also explore the idea of some kind of boycott to see if we can force the MSM to be more balanced. It's outrageous that we should have to do this, but we really have no choice.
