Donald Trump's Scary Five Days of Fury

There was clearly something terribly wrong with Donald Trump during his recent visit to France.

He seemed bitter, paranoid, angry. Afraid of everything, including the rain.

It was clear that the midterm election losses had hit him hard, and shattered his once lacquered confidence.

But who knew it was as bad as this?

Who knew it was five days of fury?

When nobody was safe, not even Theresa May.

As he jetted to Paris last Friday, President Trump received a congratulatory phone call aboard Air Force One. British Prime Minister Theresa May was calling to celebrate the Republican Party’s wins in the midterm elections — never mind that Democrats seized control of the House — but her appeal to the American president’s vanity was met with an ornery outburst.

And that was just the beginning.

He had been shattered by the midterm results. He missed those campaign rallies. He ranted, and raved, and threatened to fire people.

Until the whole White House was fighting itself.

“He’s just a bull carrying his own china shop with him whenever he travels the world,” presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said.

“Trump needs adulation, so heading into the midterms, holding these rallies, he was cheered and it became narcissistic fuel to his engine,” Brinkley said. “After the midterm, it’s the sober dawn of the morning.”

But although at first glance, it looked like just another episode of Trump The Insane Baby President, a very dark and low comedy.

As Jennifer Rubin writes, it's also a frightful portrait of a president out of control.

Trump hollered at British Prime Minister Theresa May in a phone call, berated aides and insisted on personnel changes likely to worsen morale in an already besieged White House.

As bad as Trump’s public outbursts may be, he is even less composed, rational and stable behind closed doors.

A president who could erupt again at any time.

Trump will get worse under pressure. If he is this bad now, imagine what he’ll be like if more associates are indicted, the economy goes to seed or the subpoenas start flying. At some point, unless Trump has him fired, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III will issue his report. Unless it miraculously exonerates him, the president may have a meltdown that will make his trip to France look like a picnic.

But sadly, as the madness continues, so does the cover up...

Once more — as we saw with Bob Woodward’s book, the anonymous op-ed in the New York Times, Michael Wolff’s book, Omarosa Manigault Newman’s tell-all, and countless news reports — the people who work most closely with Trump know best how emotionally, intellectually and temperamentally unfit he is for the job. And yet, they continue to mislead the public, and remain silent after leaving, as to the president’s ability to carry out his duties.

Will the Republicans ever have the courage and the decency to tell their mad emperor he has no clothes?

And of course the answer is no, no they won't.

They lost their moral compasses a long time ago. They are his enablers and will go down with him.

So as Jennifer Rubin writes, there is only one thing that decent Americans can and must do:

All of this reminds us that Democratic control of the House is only a halfway measure. Unless and until Trump is out of office, the country, our democracy and our security remain at risk.

Defeat him, charge him, and hopefully cage that needy monster...

Before he kills us all....

  1. I have never believed in the Russia-gate crap but that Trump was/is a crook working with Russian and other former-USSR crooks, I have no problem at all believing.

Mueller may be closing in. That seems to be the problem with US special investigators, they seem to be able to note other criminal acts like money laundering or tax evasion.

    Oh dear. More popcorn?

    1. Hi jrkrideau...Like you I believe that if Trump goes down it will probably be because of some kind of dirty deal with some of Russia's crooked oligarchs. However I believe his firing of Comey and Sessions may earn him an obstruction of justice charge....

  2. I am the elephant. The whole collusion was as real as Saddams WMD. Nevertheless Trump has painted the White House as the graffiti.

In our own province mini T makes his own waves. The media in particular Bell seems to not report lots of things. The CTV news last night had no mention of Vick.

    1. Hi Steve...are you the elephant or the walrus? I suggest that like me you should wait to see what evidence Mueller has, for until then nobody can know..

Grumpy Trump's adulation overload preceding the election has come crashing down with a thud. Much like a petulant six year old having his toys taken away from him, Grumpy is lashing out at everyone and with Melania on the warpath as well, life at the top is getting very lonely indeed.
If I were a doctor I would prescribe him a daily dose of firing someone followed by a daily rally so his deplorables can help heal his tattered ego that was shattered during his European visit.

    1. Hi JD...I believe that his rallies are now the only thing he enjoys about being President. The only way that he can get the love and adulation he clearly craves above all things. And without them life in the White House is too grim to bear. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he quits before the next election. Like many narcissists he has been slow to realize the damage he has done to himself. But I think he's starting to realize the extent of that damage, and it could be the beginning of the end for him and his Republicans...

That last picture says it all. Trump has the mind of a child, and the morality of a beast. And those who voted for him are the same. Nothing can excuse what they have done.

    1. Hi anon...yes, I like to think that it captures that monstrous baby man in all his noisy honking horror. I never thought I would portray a U.S. President in that manner. But then even in my worst nightmares I could never have imagined one like Trump...

Theresa Mayhem is a hapless stooge like Piggy-Porker Cameron, and Brexshit is the worst disaster for the UK since the Blitz of 1940. It's really too bad that Jeremy Corbyn is also against holding another referendum, now that we know the kind of criminal ratfuckery that went into that whole thing.

The Tories have been a disaster for Mother Britannia as much as their Canadian counterparts were for 10 years (is Andy ever going to answer for why he was "for Brexit before it was cool" -- as though it ever was?), and Labour seems the only hope for remedying the draconian austerity measures and bigotry that someone like BoJo the Clown would kick into overdrive.

But now I've read that Mueller is working with British investigators looking into Nigel Farage as part of the Analytica probe. Wherever Cons are in the mix, especially Trump, the most cartoonishly temperamental and idiotic Con artist in recent memory, it's guaranteed that there's bad behavior afoot. One only hopes that he's too overwhelmed and depressed to ask for the nuclear codes and start a war with Iran, Venezuela, or a two-front Not-NAFTA war with Mexico and Canada "for the lulz," otherwise we're all going to get blitzed! Keep calm and carry on, Mr. Mueller, is all I can say...

    1. Hi Jackie...The Brexit story is the worst thing to hit Britain in my lifetime. I don't understand how a referendum that was not supposed to be binding has managed to tie Britain up in knots. So I was very disappointed to see that Jeremy Corbyn is now against holding another one. And of course, I was even more disappointed to see that Scotland is not mentioned anywhere in May's deal. It's beyond belief, and it will not end well...

  6. Just over at CBC newsletter and it announced Dougie Ford, Canadian version of dtrump, is going to eliminate the child advocacy and environmental positions in the Ontario government. kids and the environment don't count in the U.S.A. and now it would appear they don't count in Ontario either. Of course I do see the find hand of his "advisor" Gordon Campbell, former premier of B.C. in that move also. the child advocacy dept. in B.C. was "at war" with the government during the tenure of the BC LIECONS. EXPECT more war on children in Ontario and for Ontario to have the highest rate of child poverty in Canada, just as B.C. had during Campbell and Christy Clark's reigns of terror on children and the environment. el gorod well knows how much trouble a good child advocate can be when you withdraw services for children. eliminate the advocate and you're on your way. no messy reports, no messy and truthful media statements by child advocates. so if parents in Ontario have children with medical disabilities or children are in care, expect to see problems for your child. fewer social workers, messier foster homes, etc.

Getting rid of the environmental advocate works well for corporations, just check B.C. We had a whole dam on a mining site collapse. No problem, the B.C. Liecoms were in office. Mount Polley wasn't pretty. With out an advocate, less problems, fewer reviews, etc. Just like trump and his EPA appointments. Because they're mandated to be there and he can't change that he appointed corporate hacks to the positions. i.e. the one he appointed for the south eastern district, some guy from Alabama, just was charged with fraud, taking money for his own benefit, etc. Now in Ontario, they just abolished the position. How well will that work for First Nations and people living in rural areas. Expect mining corporations to get away with all sorts of things. Perhaps a little more oil exploration, a dam or two here and there, run of the river IPP projects, which will ruin your rivers and make corporations a ton of money.''

, el gorod rides again and Ford is his vehicle and Ontario will have more in common with Trump and the U.S.A. than any other province in the country. for more information on what this can do, just check out In-Sight.ca and Laila Yuile's blog starting around 2002.

  7. No one threw a parade for Trump and he really, really needed one after the losses at home. He went to a "party" which wasn't for him, with a whole group of "stars" and he wasn't allowed to play with his best pal, Putin. Macron had "suggested" no meetings, they were there to honour the dead. going out in the rain would have demonstrated his lack of hair and he couldn't wear one of his caps either.

democrats had more votes than republicans, but the House of Representative voting had a lot of voter suppression and voting for Senators, is out dated. two senators per state. so it doesn't matter how many people in a large urban state vote for democrats, a few voters in another state will have just as much political clout.

trump may also be upset that 16% of republicans don't want him to run in the next election. the writing is on the wall. His dreams of being emperor for life, like the President of China, are dead.

Even if they eliminate Mueller's inquiry, you just know his report, one way or another will be made public.

Of course Besty DeVos is having another kick at kids, with her new definition of sexual harassment in schools.

His wife forced him to fire a staffer, which was funny. Perhaps she could get him to fire a few more, like DeVos. My take on it, his wife wants out of the W/H. and a return to her own life in New York. expect more "stunts" by her, until she gets her way. Divorce, for her and her son, is not an option. She gets very little money, so making his life difficult is the way to go.

  8. I have noticed goggle has an "ad" up suggesting we use then. In the past I've simply used the "name" section, given not liking goggle. However, now if I simply use my name, up comes a reCapthca which you have to tick. What happens then? NOTHINg. the swirl goes on and on and on, and on. Now that seems a tad weird because if I go back and tick google, gee no reCaptcha and instant acceptance of my comments. What is goggle up to and what is going on. Not ever one wants goggle to have control over their comments.

    1. Hi e.a.f...I don't know what's going on with Google. At times I can't use my own name to answer comments on the computer I normally use to write my posts. So I have to use another one. I think that Google, Apple, and Microsoft are now at war with each other, and want to make it as hard as possible for people to use their competitor's products. The new Apple update for IMac is such a radical change I may have to replace some of the apps I have used for years. So if you are frustrated so am I...šŸ˜”
