The Incredible Crassness of Donald Trump

As we all know by now, Donald Trump is a man without a moral compass, and without a discernible trace of human decency,

And this tweet on Memorial Day, the day the U.S. remembers its fallen soldiers, is more evidence of that:

And as if that wasn't bad enough then there was this...

An invitation to a sale at the Trump Store from the President of the United States, and a new use for the word REMEMBER...

And needless to say all of this triggered quite a reaction on Twitter.

With this veteran's group reminding people that Trump used a mild case of bone spurs in his ankles to get out of serving in the Vietnam War.

With David Frum registering his outrage in this manner.

And Michael Hayden, the former head of the CIA, reacting like this.

But then nobody could claim to be surprised. Not when Trump has been disgracing himself for years.

And as the editorial board of the New York Times wrote the other day, his lack of etiquette, the customary code of polite behavior in society, shames both him and his supporters.

These items don’t represent disputes about policy, over which reasonable people may disagree. They simply serve to catalog what Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and all the other Trump-supporting Republicans in Congress and across America, through their silence, have now blessed as behavior befitting a president of the United States.

You can read that list and get angry, or weep, or vomit.

But I'm just glad that my parents raised me to believe that etiquette matters, and that there is nothing quite as low as a vulgar bully.

Trump's vulgarity will come back to haunt him...

The disgust decent people in the U.S. feel for him will only inspire them to defeat him.

And all I can say is thank goodness I recognized what he was from the moment Trump became President.

And I can hardly wait for the day when that ghastly hog is defeated.

And decency returns to America...

Trump is a disgusting, shameless POS that has denigrated to a level of indecency never seen before in a US president.
I can no longer stand to look at or listen to this lowly maggot and will dance with joy when he's finally booted from office.
To Jackie and all our decent, American friends, be strong, be patient and above all, rest assured that this nightmare will end.

    2. Hi JD...I feel exactly the way you do. Like I'm sure many others I try to tune him out since by now even the sound of his voice makes me want to throw something at the TV. The good news however is that our poor neighbours are slowly but surely making plans to destroy him. First by hopefully removing his arms and legs in the mid term elections in November. And then destroying what's left pf him in the next general election. Mueller may or may not arrive in time to save them, so they will save themselves...

    3. Hi Kathleen...you're like my Mum, the queen of our Scottish castle, who has decreed that the Orange Oaf may neither be seen or heard lest he offend her ears or her sense of decency. But think what a party we are going to have when he is finally defeated...

Enter Mike Pence. It's a win or win for the libertarians. When the time comes the mortician will never be able to get the grin off Chuck's face. Maybe he'd like it that way.

    1. hi John...I'd really like to know what Pence is thinking these days. He scuttles around like a flunky. But if I was Trump and I was standing on a balcony, I wouldn't let Pence stand behind me.... ;)

Trump has a lot in common with Scrooge McDuck (no offense Simon) as he measures everything including patriotism/love in $US. It must be the ultimate ego trip to be in charge of the world super power that can print, bestow, withhold and otherwise manipulate $US at will. Even better than nuclear ... at least for now.

  4. The merchandise promo was disgusting. But who in their right mind would want a Trump-Pence flag!? I guess he believes he is greater than the country he leads.

    1. Hi Frank...yes it certainly was disgusting, and as for the Trump Pence flag, I hate to imagine the kind of person who would hoist it on a flag pole in their front yards. Although, I suppose they could be useful, as a warning to Canadians like us, to stay as far away as possible... ;)

I had seen the tweet but not the "sale" OMG. no wonder they didn't have politicians at the last royal wedding. They couldn't stand the thought of any of trump's crowd coming. They don't have any manners. Its true. He just doesn't get it.

It may come as s surprise to Trump, but all those people who died in wars for their country, would much rather be alive. Trump was a coward in his youth and still is today. He avoided the draft with his heel spurs. OMG, what an excuse.

He thinks the country is doing well????? Ask all the people of colour who have been recently assaulted and/or murdered by American cops. they don't think its a great country. Ask the children and the parents of the children who went missing, all 1500 of them. Ask the parents and children being separated when entering the U.S.A. The parents are being sent to jail and when they are deported some of them aren't getting their children back. Wonder how much the pedophiles are paying for these children. What a great country, run by a bunch of financial elites with records of rape, sexual assault, racism, The Republican party is a disaster with the types of people they attract. Just look at the 3 candidates running in the rEpublican primary in Arizona to replace Jeff Flake.

Trump is doing the same thing the Romans did in the days of decline of their empire, bread and circuses, except Trump is leaving out the bread, just giving the deplorables, his base, the circuses.

Why we want a trade deal with this country is beyond me.

    N. Korea would be better off signing a deal with S. Korea, Japan, and China for peace and let other countries sign on as time goes by and avoid the U.S.A. because they won't honour it anyhow, just look at Libya, Iraq, Iran, the list goes on.

    1. Hi e.a.f...I have never seen or read about a President as vulgar as Trump. Lyndon Johnson was apparently a little on the crude side, but he still managed to do a lot of good, and compared to Trump he looked like Abraham Lincoln. But if the sale was vulgar, the tweet revealed once again his extreme narcissism, and that is something we should be deeply concerned about. For if he feels he has been made to look like a fool by say the dictator of North Korea, he is quite capable of starting a nuclear war to make himself feel good again. Quite frankly sometimes I wonder how we are going to survive the next two and a half years, and pray that something bad happens to him...

  6. Hi RT...how dare you suggest that a McDuck could resemble a McTrump. The McDucks are without doubt a scurvy Clan, but Scrooge was one of my favourite comic characters, and nothing could be as bad as a Trump. But yes you're right, for Trump it's all about him and making money.
But better he occupy himself that way, than play diplomat or Great Warrior Leader, and blow us all up ...
