How The Con Media Is Trying To Praise Andrew Scheer

As I wrote the other day, the Con media is finding it harder and harder to attack Justin Trudeau, because they've been doing it for so long nobody is paying them much attention.

And they're withering on the vine, or just withering.

So now they're trying something different. They're trying to make the creepy religious fanatic Andrew Scheer look good.

Only to find that even harder.

For obvious reasons...

But still they try, as CTV's Rachel Aiello does here.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says the biggest challenge he foresees in 2018 is raising his public profile.

"It's getting out to more places, and finding a way to get my message out to Canadians, and in a way that resonates with them," Scheer told Evan Solomon, host of CTV’s Question Period when asked what his biggest challenge would be in the new year.

By allowing Scheer to claim that the only reason he isn't popular is that Canadians don't know him well enough.

Without ever pointing out that Scheer spent the last six months travelling all over the country.

And spending a fortune on ads to try to improve his image.

But sadly for him, the more Canadians found out who he really is, the less they liked him...

But that still hasn't stopped the shabby Con fluffer John Ivison from also trying to claim that the only reason Scheer is so unpopular is because Canadians don't know him from a hole in the wall, or Adam.

And even more hilariously letting him claim that he's quietly confident.

Scheer emphasizes repeatedly that his first six months were spent establishing “the fundamentals” — who he is and what his party stands for.

“What I’ve tried to do over the past few months is set markers down about the overall Liberal approach to government and the Conservative approach,” he said.

When in fact even the fluffer Ivison is forced to admit that nothing Scheer is doing is working.

The Conservatives did manage to put a dent in Liberal support over the small-business tax issue and Morneau’s personal affairs. But the Liberals look set to end the year as popular as ever, with Trudeau’s personal numbers performing even more strongly than the Liberal brand.

Justin Trudeau is on course for another crushing majority...

A majority that is almost certainly going to be even larger, when we make sure that every Canadian knows about this story.

The story the Con media is trying to cover-up, even though it is the most important story in Canada.

For what we are witnessing is nothing less than the takeover of the Conservative Party by alt-right fanatics like Hamish Marshall and Dane Lloyd.

Whose motto is "Fear God, Honour the King." A man who calls feminists "feminazis, " was against the taking down of statues of confederate racists in the United States.

And shouldn't be in a Canadian parliament, let alone standing next to the leader of the opposition.

But does make only too clear where Scheer would take this country.

Which will not only guarantee his defeat in the next election.

It should also destroy the Cons for at least a generation.

Andrew Scheer, the gift that keeps on giving.

Pass the Tiki torches.

Burn, baby burn...

Did you know that @CPC_HQ blocks Canadians such as @DianeMariePosts? She is a well read lady who researches and delivers intelligent posts. Hamish Marshall and Rebel associates in the CPC party are afraid of people like her who are posting the truth.

    1. Hi Yvonne...I have always been impressed by Dianne Marie's work, and the way she blows one Con lie after the other out of the water. So I'm disgusted but not surprised that the scummy Cons at CPC_HQ would block her. There is nothing they fear more than the truth...

It is not enough to merely beat them with a solid Liberal majority, we must electorally DESTROY them.

    1. Hi anon ...if we are able to soundly defeat Scheer and his SoCons in the next election I'm pretty sure it will cause the Cons to start blaming and fighting each other. And that should be the next best thing to destroying them. if we can blow apart their coalition we can take them out of play for at least a generation...

  3. Didn't little Steve Harpoon claim that he would be popular when people got to know him ? When they got to know him they handed him his ass . At least the door didn't hit it on his scramble out the door.

    1. Hi rumleyfips....I can't remember Harpoon ever saying that, which is just as well. For had he said that I'm sure I would laughed so hard I would have ruptured myself. But then like so many others I have forgotten some of the things that monster said or did. The Con media is counting on that to try to force the Cons on us again...

  4. Right. The Speaker during the Harper majority, the first Speaker to ever be a House Leader right after his government lost power, and the first one to run win a major party leadership, but Canadians do not know who he is. And that is BEFORE the charm offensive of the last six months. Curious how he is still being treated as if his only problem is lack of recognition. Given what he helped enable Speaker, that alone once well enough known should sink him even before the religiousity aspect comes into focus, as you have done.

Scheer lunacy, both sardonic and literally true at the same time, it takes a Con Commander to manage that special sweet spot..*rolls eyes*.

    1. Hi Scotian...I am not surprised that Scheer would make up that excuse for his lack of popularity. What I find inexcusable is that our bought media would let him get away with it. And it's not just that. I have focused on his religious fanaticism, but there is also his record as a right-wing extremist. As you know Harper dabbled with those groups, but Scheer was right in there with them. Remember to get Lloyd Dane chosen as a candidate, Scheer had to oppose Rona Ambrose's more moderate choice. So Lloyd is his boy, and just another reason Scheer is so dangerous...

    2. My bad Simon, I was referring to the media people advancing or at the very minimum not pointing all of this out despite their jobs requiring them to have known this, especially those that reported on these events in real time. Remember Simon, I am a process geek first, so I know better than most
EXACTLY what kind of horror shit-show Harper and his understudy were (and Scheer wants to be able to be again) while they still held the power to do so.

Harper with a smile is a fair description in many ways, except I fear Scheer may be even more unscrupulous than Harper, no small feat given the Harper historical record in and out of government throughout his career.

The media in NA has been broken to the right, the refs worked nearly to death, and in this country we always had a major problem with over media concentration even before the corporates took it over. I am old enough to remember talking about these concerns in the 70s and early 80s as topics in debate forums and competitions because it made for an excellent topic and promoted further civic awareness (which most people who get into debate societies in public school are clearly interested in, or at least back then that was clearly true, nowadays I cannot speak to alas) about the political dangers of a media so concentrated in the hands of so few families. How that runs the risk of political corruption in advancement of political agendas of the owners, and the protections they supposedly had in place to counter them.

So take me to heart when I tell you that I have been exceptionally aware of how bad our media is, especially when it comes to political realities and their coverage of it. I can live with partisanship on editorial pages, but only when the news side is facts first, equally applied standards to all subjects, and report without fear or favour. When that is corrupted, as we clearly have seen and you are exposing yet again, we have Pravda tendencies, and I use that comparison in full recollection of what Pravda sounded like and how well programmed (at least in public) any Soviet citizens I ever interacted with (and being a Haligonian that was more than one might think thanks to being such a port city) those that relied on it sounded. FOXNEWS and the US Right are already there, and our CPC is on that path, which is why I find the media complicity that much more disgusting

Sorry I was not clearer that my comment was about the media folks, not the watchers of them except in terms of the impacts on them by these people breeding ignorance in the service of some sort of political preference to agenda, because factually, consistency, these things are clearly lacking.

Lip stick comes in many colors and shades. Unfortunately for the Schmear monger he has chosen those that seem spiritually negative such as dark blues and purples. By trying to mix in a little sunshine yellow he ends up with a dirty brown. Not the most complimentary lip stick if one is trying to dress a pig.

Compost Media hacks have taken over your national broadcaster, and that's obviously why they dare not utter a peep about the cons' infiltration by American-style Trumpist Neo-Nazis. If they had their way, Ezra Bannon Zündel would be the director of programming ("programming" in more ways than one, i.e., the bamboozling and brainwashing of the populace). Canadian Heritage Moments would be replaced with Canadian Two-Minute Hate Moments, The Handmaid's Tale would be a reality show, and Little Mosque on the Prairie would be a documentary featuring every single Canadian Muslim trapped behind bars at a domestic "refugee camp" that's more like Tar Sands Gitmo. They are better suited to a propaganda network like Russia Today or heck, Fox News.

Scheer wants to "establish the fundamentals"? He is an established fundamentalist. That's all anyone needs to know about him and his deplorable alt-right hate group. They already know him from Adam; Adam raised a Cain. (Oddly enough, in this case Adam is Steve. And lo, on the feast day of Stephen, the Sith Lord coughed up a mighty hairball, and it was called Andrew, the beast of Scheer Evil. And there was much rejoicing among the wicked, for the beast of Scheer Evil was lauded by the high priests of false gospel, the disciples of the holy profits of Ezra, god of the golden ass.) But he'd be a no-name fringe candidate were it not for the enablers who were "just following orders" to keep quiet about the Goebbel-ing up of the mainstream opposition party and their own once-respectable profession.

I hope Justin and his brother had a happy Life Day, even despite the below-the-belt punches the MAGA Cons keep throwing. It looks as though the Tru Grits will do well in the next election even so, and when they do, the Death Star that is the fascist agitprop network of Rebel Compost Media needs to get Forced out and thrown in the trash like yesterday's fake news. (Would that the Americans could do the same to Fox and Breitbart.)

To paraphrase the late, great Chicago journalist Mike Royko, "no self-respecting fish would allow himself to be wrapped in a Godfrey paper." (Although, he actually said Murdoch. Same difference, just maple flavor instead of Vegemite.)

    1. HI Jackie...I honestly don't know how to explain what's happening to our media. I have all kinds of theories from the group think that can happen in a small place like Ottawa, to the influence of dark money. Postmedia has in the past taken money from Big Oil to provide them with favourable coverage, so they are capable of anything. But you're right Scheer is a fundamentalist. When Ambrose left the leader's office every one in that office left with her. Scheer got to choose everyone in his inner circle, and wouldn't you know it, almost all of them are the products of Bible schools and other religious institutions. Can we count on the Con media to point that out? I wouldn't hold your breath. You know, your country is living through a nightmare, but at least you have some great media institutions fighting the good fight. In this country we have a much better government, but we have a scurvy media actively working to undermine that government and return us to Con rule. And yes, may the memory of Mike Royko live forever...

It isn't that Canadians don't know Scheer, its that they are ignoring him. He isn't interesting. He hasn't presented anything of note which Canadians want to embrace. There is nothing about him which people notice. Now of course it may be that just because a politician isn't "note worthy" that they might not be a good politicians, but in this case, Scheer just doesn't have anything to say or present to Canadians that they can identify with. The leader of the NDP has disappeared since he won the title and those who represent him on the Hill simply are attacking things people don't care about. People care about where they are going to live, can they afford to live in a house or apartment, where they get their health care, and do they have a job.

the Cons were big on "tax credits" for kids. that's real nice, if you have money and can take advantage of tax credits. However, those at poverty level can't take advantage of tax credits, so when Trudeau's government changed legislation to send real money to people living at the poverty level, they liked that. they like Trudeau and they like the Liberals. There is nothing better than having money to buy groceries with.
    '
In B.C. with low wages and high costs of housing, this federal money for kids is absolutely necessary. Scheer hasn't said or done anything which would help the average working family in B.C. He may attack Trudeau from now until the end of the century, but Scheer has not promoted anything which will help all those who need that money each month.

Some may not have liked the small tax "debate" or the Morneau "routine" but when it comes right down to it, most people don't own small businesses and those who work for them, don't care either because they aren't always great paying jobs. they may not even like their employers. as to Morneau, people have a clear memory of Mulroney. They have a clear memory of the Harper years. They don't care what Morneau may or may not have done. They see him as the Finance Minister who has managed to keep the country afloat, them employed, and sends out those cheques for their kids.

Scheer and his Cons may remind many of the American right's politicians and they don't want any part of that. People remember what the Cons did during the Harper years and aren't willing to buy what the Cons and their media friends have to say about Trudeau and the federal Liberals.

As a life long New Democrat, have no problem with how Trudeau and the federal Liberals are running the country and I'm very happy with our Foreign minister.

    1. Hi e.a.f...I agree with you. Scheer and the Con media are insulting the intelligence of Canadians. If Canadians aren't warming to him is because he has nothing but the most reactionary policies to offer them. He claims he has a "positive" message for them but all he does is attack Justin Trudeau like a rabid ferret. He could never be my leader, and that's not my Canada...

Our Con media is so corrupt that if Scheer wore a Ku Klux Klan hood on his head they'd claim he was doing that because he was so modest. The guy is a religious extremist, he would jail women for having an abortion, he's a disgusting anti-gay bigot, he would privatize Medicare, and he' would selli us out to Trump like a traitor. So our media better wise up or they are going to face a popular revolt the likes of which this country has never seen.

Don't forget that Scheer is a climate change denier and that Ivison let him get away with saying he's satisfied with the Con's "positive" record. What a stooge.

    2. Hi anon 3:58 pm...I think we are seeing the beginning of a popular revolt. I have never seen so many Canadians so angry at the way the Con media is distorting the news. We are not a revolutionary people, but we can be moved to anger by something we perceive to be unfair or bullying. If the Con media ignores that it will do so at its peril...

    3. Hi anon 5:39.... Yes, I too was struck by how Ivison allowed Scheer to get away with claiming his non-action on climate change was "positive." If Ivison ever goes on trial for collaborating with the Cons, that line alone would be enough to convict him. Of course he won't, but his shame will live forever....

    1. HI Steve...I doubt it. Electoral reform is sometimes described as the cure for everything. But in a country like this one it could fragment the progressive vote, and lead to an uber-right government. If progressives stop fighting each other and focus on the real enemy, even the FPTP system as imperfect as it is will not save the Cons....

    2. Hi anon 5:36 PM...listen loser, I have been threatened hundreds of times, I have actually been stabbed once by a religious bigot in Glasgow once the knife capital of the world. And another religious freak had to be taken down about half a block away from where I lived. But nobody, but nobody, has ever intimidated me, and never will. Got that? Good...

    3. HI Jackie....Thanks, but it's OK. Those cowards don't scare me. I took martial arts for more than 12 years and learned to street fight in Glasgow. So anyone coming after me with a knife might get a nasty shock, and wonder where their nose and their ears went. 🤕
What is disturbing is how the number of these online threats aimed at me and others have escalated since Trump came to power, and are fuelled by publications like the hate mongering Rebel. Justin Trudeau is routinely threatened, and the police are going to have to start cracking down on those cowards before they cause a tragedy...
