Donald Trump and the Road to World War III

In one of my last posts I asked the following question: Is Donald Trump Now Too Mentally Disturbed To Remain In Office?

And I concluded that he definitely was.

So I'm glad to see that the Republican Senator Bob Corker sort of agrees with me.

And that he not only believes that the White House has become an "adult daycare centre."

But also that baby Trump could be leading us down the road to World War III.

Senator Bob Corker, the Republican chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, charged in an interview on Sunday that President Trump was treating his office like “a reality show,” with reckless threats toward other countries that could set the nation “on the path to World War III.”

“He concerns me,” Mr. Corker added. “He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation.”

I'm also glad that Corker isn't the only Republican concerned by Trump's bizarre behaviour.

“Look, except for a few people, the vast majority of our caucus understands what we’re dealing with here,” he said, adding that “of course they understand the volatility that we’re dealing with and the tremendous amount of work that it takes by people around him to keep him in the middle of the road.”

For only if enough Republicans turn against him can his reckless behaviour be brought under control.

But of course, one can only wonder how the North Koreans feel about Trump's not so veiled threats to destroy them...

Because this is not encouraging.

Far more than when I previously visited, North Korea is galvanizing its people to expect a nuclear war with the United States. High school students march in the streets in military uniform every day to denounce America. Posters and billboards along the public roads show missiles destroying the U.S. Capitol and shredding the American flag.

This military mobilization is accompanied by the ubiquitous assumption that North Korea could not only survive a nuclear conflict, but also win it.

And this is deeply disturbing.

“If we have to go to war, we won’t hesitate to totally destroy the United States,” explained Mun Hyok-myong, a 38-year-old teacher visiting an amusement park.

Ryang Song-chol, a 41-year-old factory worker, looked surprised when I asked if his country could survive a war with America. “We would certainly win,” he said.

Especially since Tuesday is the anniversary of the North Korean Worker's Party, and there are fears that its leader is planning another major weapons test...

Which might give Trump the excuse he is clearly seeking to start a war on the Korean peninsula.

If only to distract people from his worst nightmare...

Even if that war could kill millions of people, and trigger World War III.

Which of course would be horrifying, but should not be surprising.

For even the dumbest deplorable should have known how this horror story was going to end...

And the good news?

If Republican senators like Bob Corker now believe that Trump is too dangerous to be president, it may not be long before they move to impeach him.

Or as I like to say:

Remove him from office before he kills us all...

Trump isn't only agitating for a fight with North Korea. He's also threatened to rip up the Iran nuclear deal, basically for no other reason than "Obama did it." To "bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb Iran," as Hanoi John McCain aka Colonel Kurtz once gleefully sang in front of a room of reporters (much to the dismay of the Beach Boys, I'm sure) means that they'll fight back -- and then, Israel and Saudi Arabia's arsenals get triggered by default. You add 7th-century religious irrationality on top of 21st-century technology and you're looking at, well, apocalypse now, apocalypse tomorrow, apocalypse forever. Cats and dogs glowing together, to paraphrase Bill Murray.

All to appease the feverish hallucinations of Bible-wanking wingnuts like Ted Cruz (who would be right at home with his home-country cons and probably make for Scheer's perfect golfing buddy) and the rural-illiterate gun hoarders who get their "news" from Pat Robertson, Jim Bakker, and other conspiracy-mongering grifters. This is how the world ends: not with a bang, not even a whimper, but a #Covfefe for Jesus/Moses/Muhammad. Braise the Lard!

John Lennon, who exhorted humanity to "imagine no religion" and the attendant corruption mechanisms and mass-brainwashing schemes it's most commonly used for, once said of Justin's father, who eventually declined to pursue nuclear capabilities for Canada even as Rambo Reagan and the Russkies were amping things up towards the tail end of the Cold War: "If every leader was like Mr. Trudeau, the world would have peace." I still believe Pierre (peace be upon him) made the right decision, not wanting to drag his country into that chaotic fray.

Unfortunately, Lennon -- along with his anti-proliferation philosophy -- ended up a casualty of the Reagan era and the Second Amendment (he really should have stayed in Montréal), and at this point we can't help but imagine no planet. The reason? Most leaders are not like Mr. Trudeau, père ou fils. Most leaders are like Mr. Trump, which means the world may soon cease to exist.

But, hey, there's bound to be plenty of paper towels to clean up the mess, right? Anyone? Anyone? Mueller?

    1. HI anon...yes, Trump may have been a rotten student at that military school they sent him too, and as we know he was a draft dodging coward. But he clearly sees himself as some kind of modern day reincarnation of Napoleon (or the Fuhrer) and who can deny that nuclear war would be the ultimate distraction? Justin Trudeau will be meeting him this week and I don't envy him having to deal with that monster. Still I detect signs that even some members of his dumb base are beginning to have doubts about Trump, and I still believe that the forces of good will triumph...

  2. I dont believe politicians believe in the sky god. Its just another tool of manipulation.

North Korea is just a PSA from the Military Industrial Complex.

Iran is the real story. Iran is an existential threat to Israel. Look how deftly Israel has eliminated threats. It would not be crazy to allege their best local allies are now Saudi Arabia and their proxies including ISIS.

The permission to attack Iran lies in the middle east.

    1. Hi Steve....I don't believe that Iran is an existential threat to anyone. Israel could incinerate it if it wanted, and the Iran nuclear deal should keep the old Mullahs at bay until a new and better generation takes over...

Zionists are responsible for most wars.

    1. Hi anon...please, save that nonsense for yourself. Israel has acted badly in its backyard, and treated the Palestinians very badly. But most wars have nothing to do with Zionism and everything to do with males who can't seem to be able to get away from our Stone Age past....

I knew that as Mueller approached, the dotard would push us all closer to oblivion. An interesting takeaway from the Corker interview is that dump really isn't in charge of much anymore, and that saner heads like Kelly and Mattis are keeping things from getting too terrible. It's a good thing that the whole world, including North Korea, knows that dump is a fake and bullshit artist.

    1. Hi anon....yes, as I said in my post, it should surprise nobody that Trump is preparing a massive distraction to try to distract people from his corrupt criminal regime. However, what worries me is that the North Koreans might take him literally, and play into Trump's hands. I only hope that the military junta in the Oval Office keeps net handy, because they may have to use it....

Trump is a real estate conman turned political conman. As with all cons they make promises they cannot deliver which eventually results in a crisis and ensuing disaster for the suckers with the perpetrator either in jail, absconding or declaring bankruptcy if he is legally "smart". Trumps vision for America is the con ... the short version is "a highly structured golden land with outsiders either paying for club membership or cowering in fear". The vision contained many flaws but it seems that the Kim scenario might win the race to the crisis stage although there are still strong contenders lurking in the background. Time is running out, hopefully the final crisis will not be war but of another type resulting in the political equivalent of a bankruptcy where the marks are poorer but wiser and the artist is seen for what he is... not just from a business but also a political perspective. But then again we already knew that.

    1. Hi RT....I agree that Trump has been, is, and will always be a con artist. But unfortunately wealthy Con artists have always been admired by many Americans, and I should say Canadians. Decency seems to be a lost value, and a man without morals, and a nuclear arsenal at his disposal is a dangerous beast indeed. I'd hate it to be said one day, they knew he was rotten, they saw it coming, but nobody could figure out how to stop him...

I also believe that the only reason Trump is stirring up war fever is so he can use a war to make Americans forget whatever charges Mueller brings down on the heads of the Trump mob. If that does turn out to be true, I only hope that Trump will be charged with corruption, treason, and crimes against humanity. I'd love to see him hanging or frying in the electric chair.

Perhaps Mueller is a consideration in the background but Korea is the first test of his America the great foreign policy which is equivalent to "walk tall and carry a big stick". In his simplistic view foreign nations can either pay to join the club or be respectfully quiet. Belligerent noisy upstarts can expect to feel the full wrath of the stick. Sharper minds than his are now trying to slightly modify his vision while convincing him he thought of the new one. Lets hope they are successful so he can careen onto the next crisis such as a constitutional or financial one. At least he doesn't seem to have a predisposition to nuke his own people which is more than what can be said for belligerent upstarts.

    2. Hi anon....I'm glad you feel that way, the dotard's motives seem so obvious to me. And I also applaud your militancy, because we will not win this struggle by turning up with a spoon at a gun fight. However, you cannot be his executioner, I want that job, and i'm sure I'll look fabulous in a black hood... ;)

  8. Hi RT...I hope you're wrong about Trump trying to use a big stick on North Korea as a way to intimidate others. But he is a bestial bully so you may be right. And with his complete lack of empathy, and extreme narcissism, he is capable of anything. In the name of human decency and human survival he needs to be taken down by whatever means necessary...
