It should have been a good week for Donald Trump. He's doing his best to tone down his act and look more "presidential."
He won two more primary contests, albeit even though his opponents had already dropped out of the race.
He managed to patch up some of his differences with the Republican leadership. Sort of.
But all that has now been undone by a flood of negative stories.
He won't release his tax returns.
Which can only make people wonder what he is hiding. As Hillary Clinton is already doing.
He can't accuse Clinton of being supported by wealthy donors, when he is now doing the same thing.
Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, recently hired a national finance chairman, scheduled his first fundraiser and is on the cusp of signing a deal with the Republican Party that would enable him to solicit donations of more than $300,000 apiece from supporters.
He won't admit he once posed as his own fake publicist.
“No, I don’t think it — I don’t know anything about it. You’re telling me about it for the first time and it doesn’t sound like my voice at all,” he told Today‘s Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. “I have many, many people that are trying to imitate my voice and then you can imagine that, and this sounds like one of the scams, one of the many scams — doesn’t sound like me.”
Even though voice recording experts say it is him.
Is the recording Trump? He says it's not him, but others aren't so sure: https://t.co/8dcef9UZGf https://t.co/YWgpv7OR1z— The Situation Room (@CNNSitRoom) May 13, 2016
And everybody knows he's lying.
Now to make matters even worse, the New York Times has looked into his past.
And revealed that he really is a disgusting sexist pig.
The Times published a deep dive into Donald Trump's history with women, the crux of which is that the presumptive GOP nominee is a creepy, looks-obsessed misogynist who's spent his whole life using his money and power to prey on pretty young women and belittle anyone he doesn't deem attractive enough.
And while that may not cost him the support of many of his fanatic followers, because many of them are as piggy as him.
In a country where more than half of the voters are women, and most of them already have an unfavourable opinion of him, it will almost certainly hurt him in the general election.
And this even before the campaign officially begins.
The Donald, worse than most people imagine.
And as I have already been confidently predicting.
Heading for a hard landing...

How low can this human scum go. Our American friends better get out and vote. An American friend of mine seems to think it will be a record voter turn out from the buss he hears. Let's all hope they vote to topple simple minded Trump like we toppled Hitler Harper. FP
ReplyDeletehi FP....please do me a favour and don't call Harper Hitler. Harper was a miserable cruel fascist pig, but he was not as bad as Hitler. It only insults the memory of all those murdered by that Nazi maniac. Besides, I'm sure you can come up with a thousand other words to insult our Great Fallen Leader. But you are right, every good American must get out and vote....
DeleteHarper never had the chance to be Hitler
DeleteI really like this advice.... journalists should only ask Trump questions they know the answers to.
ReplyDeleteThen see if he will answer the question honestly, or even if he knows the answer.

hi David...I can only imagine what might happen if Drumph went on a quiz show. I'm sure he would fail in spectacular manner. Like Stephen Harper did when he went on Reach for the Top and was humiliated by a guy named Dino from a far less fancy school than his.

There are some dark swirling undercurrents to this election, but Trump is just bouncing up and down like a cork, and will eventually sink below the surface...
National Review is arguably the most respected conservative magazine in America:

Trumps going to win thanks to Hillary using antidemocractic actions at the Nevada Democractic convention. Her minions have foolishly alienated Bernie Sanders supporters by cheating.
ReplyDeleteTrump and the "phone" calls is a funny story. Weird but funny and to think some want him to be president.
ReplyDeleteAs to the tax returns, it maybe that Trump is not as wealth as he tells people he is. Most think he may be in tax trouble, but I would suggest that can be gotten past, but not having as much money as he proports to have, could be a problem.
