Donald Trump and the Accidental President

I've always had the feeling that the person most surprised by Donald Trump's meteoric rise in the polls was The Donald himself.

That in his quest to boost his reality television image, and his business profile, he launched himself into the Republican leadership race, in a half assed manner.

With the only aim being to make The Donald brand bigger or YUGER, or make up for what his daddy did to him, and of course those tiny fingers.

But was suddenly carried aloft by a massive wave of anger, which Trump in his golden towers almost certainly didn't see coming. But did know how to play it for maximum effect.

Only to find himself in the position of at least being able to dream of becoming the first accidental President.

But of course that kind of story only works in a wrestling ring, and usually ends with a sickening thud.

When even some of your most faithful followers realize that you don't know what you're talking about.

Donald Trump sought to clarify, walk back, then seemingly reverse his position on punishing women who seek abortion procedures -- should they be legally banned -- over the course of a few hours Wednesday.

And that you're making it up as you go along.

From the abortion issue, and the insane war on women.

To the nuclear war in Europe, or all over the world.

Donald Trump refused to rule out using nuclear weapons in Europe during a town hall in Wisconsin on Wednesday. The Republican presidential front-runner was asked about his recent contradictory statements about nuclear proliferation—in which he said he was concerned about the spread of nukes while also suggesting that more countries, including Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, should be allowed to acquire them.

Trump really doesn't know what he's talking about. Or is acting like a 5-year-old.

And as for my accidental president theory, there's the claim by this one-time Trump Super PAC organizer who says that The Donald never wanted to be President.

The top strategist for Donald Trump’s short-lived super-PAC says the Republican frontrunner does not want to become president — and that he had launched his “protest” bid for the GOP nomination simply to prove a point: that he could come close.

“Almost a year ago,” Stephanie Cegielski writes in an lengthy letter to Trump supporters published by the website XOjane.com, “I sat in Trump Tower being told that the goal was to get The Donald to poll in double digits and come in second in delegate count. That was it.”

“I don’t think even Trump thought he would get this far,” she continues. “And I don’t even know that he wanted to, which is perhaps the scariest prospect of all. He certainly was never prepared or equipped to go all the way to the White House, but his ego has now taken over the driver’s seat, and nothing else matters.”

Which is indeed a scary thought.

But the good news is that one can't help feeling that the wheels are coming off Trump's campaign.

He didn't prepare seriously, he didn't create a proper organization. His campaign manager has just been charged with assaulting a female reporter.

Life is indeed a shark tank. He's out of his depth.

And the truth is catching up with him...

The best way to eliminate the nuclear threat is to give them to everyone sounds exactly like their gun toting rationale. Is he really a satirical Democrat in disguise? Very unlikely but the Republacons will try every angle to discredit him. Unfortunately the runners up are as bad if not worse than Trump, anyone with a hint of morality was ruled out at the starting gate.Unfortunately in the US as well as other countries the political strategy of creating turmoil to breed more turmoil seems to work. This on top of the real challenges the world is facing is a very toxic combination.

    1. hi RT...I think that Trump is a lot more liberal than he lets on, but he will do anything or say anything now to get people to vote for him. And yes, I believe Cruz would be even worse, for he is the tool of the religious right. But the good news is I think he would be even easier to beat than Trump. And of course I'm hoping for a brokered convention, so the Republican Party can tear itself apart...

  2. By now, some free market type should have produced a little Donnie kit. A bad wig, a set of mickey mouse type gloves with big hands and tiny fingers and some orange makeup. Hundreds of people wearing theses kits and singing "Short People" thanks Randy, outside a Trump wrestling extravenganza would get the message across.

    1. hi rumleyfips...if Trump is the Republican nominee, I'm sure you will see a million Trumps on Halloween. And if he's doing well, it will be the scariest costume ever...;)

Trumps statements on abortion has pretty well cooked his goose, come election time. 70% of American women don't like him. So the boys may get him the nomination, but he won't win the election. either Saunders or Clinton will take him out. We can only hope the Republicans regain some of their sanity. The country does need at least 2 viable parties because in a democracy everybody ought to be able to vote for someone.

    1. hi e.a.f...I hope the appalling way he has treated women will cost him either the nomination, or any chance of being President. There are more women than men in the U.S. and polls show that most of them have a very poor opinion of Trump. But one can't be sure of course. There is an anger out there that could override such an issue, and take the U.S. to a very bad place....
