The Not So Nice Cons and the Bitterness of Candice Bergen

When Rona Ambrose became the interim leader of the defeated and humiliated Cons, she promised that they would adopt a "new tone."

I predicted that wouldn't last long, and sure enough it didn't.

Because now Candice Bergen has made it only too clear those were indeed hollow words.

And she for one REALLY hates Justin Trudeau.

And that only about ten days after she herself promised to engage her opponents in a more respectful manner.

Which can only make some wonder if she has any idea how most Canadians felt about her and her depraved leader...

But then who can blame Bergen and the other Cons?

When Justin Trudeau is systematically dismantling the foul legacy of the Harper regime.

He has ordered the return of the long-form census, he has unmuzzled scientists and civil servants, he has given directions that all Charter challenges be scrapped.

And yesterday at long last his government buried the Great War on the Niqab.

The federal government has formally withdrawn a controversial court challenge involving the niqab, says Jody Wilson-Raybould in her first act as Canada's attorney general and justice minister.

Whose passing deserves to be marked, because it was without a doubt one of the worst things Stephen Harper ever did.

Using bigotry as a political weapon, and stirring up hatred that along with the events in Paris, is still poisoning our country.

Teenage Muslim girls at a north Toronto mosque have a new rule this week: Don’t walk alone to Islamic night school. And whatever you do, don’t jaywalk – you don’t want to give drivers any excuses, cautioned Aleemuddin Syed, director of Darul Khair Islamic Centre.

The warnings came after the Islamic State’s co-ordinated killings in Paris and an ensuing spate of anti-Muslim hate crimes in Canada. The incidents this week include the burning of a mosque in Peterborough, Ont., and racist graffiti and many reported verbal encounters across the country, leading Muslim and police groups to offer safety advice.

Which couldn't be more disgusting.

But of course the real reason Candice Bergen and the other Cons are so bitter is that it is finally sinking in that after ten years their time is really over.

And that Justin Trudeau is dismantling the Harper regime like Keir Dullea dismantled the evil computer HAL in the movie 2001 Space Odyssey...

And although Trudeau still has a lot more work ahead.

On Harper’s watch Canadian law grew ever more heedless of civil rights, contemptuous of the judiciary, unreasonably punitive, and unfriendly to minorities and refugees. Canadians voted for something better on Oct. 19. The Liberals have work to do, restoring the public’s trust. The niqab was a start. It must not end there.

That is the good news.

It was a horrible nightmare. He was a real monster.

But Stephen Harper's ghastly regime is being taken apart.

And he's never coming back...

What is even more appalling than Ms. Bergen's attitude is her ability to accurately use the English language.

...and this is what we elect to "lead" us.

    1. hi anon...yes she really should shut up, and give Trudeau a chance to government before dumping all over him in such a vulgar manner. But the good news is she has no power, so it is just hot air....

    1. hi anon...I know I really should, Miss Piggy is much nicer and far more entertaining than Bergen. But I started using Miss Piggy to illustrate that Con during the days when she was leading the gun lobby to victory. And before I started making my own Con hogs. And for old times sake I just couldn't resist....

You know what's sickening? 30% of our electorate either fall for or subscribe to this crap Bergen and company are spewing. That's the real embarrassment here. Even more disgusting are the innocent Muslims being targeted by the more debased of their base. What they are doing is inciting hatred and is that not a crime? We need to shut them up before someone is killed by some whackjob Reformacon who's been whipped into a frenzy by these racist pigs.

    1. hi JD...yes I know it is sickening that no matter what they do the Cons can always count on their rabid base. And I have been appalled by some of the bigoted statements I see in the comment sections. It's the kind of bigotry I expect from Americans, but not from Canadians. And yes, they should shut up before somebody gets seriously hurt....

It's increddible how much liberals enjoy projection as a psychological defense mechanism. Orwell couldn't have asked for better examples of double-think than Canadian leftists.

Harper promises packarages of "get tough on crime" measures, mandatory minumum sentences, etc. Liberals don't like. Okay, I can' understand, appreciate and respect the principled stance. Trudeau's first act of policy? Announce a way to throw non-compliant Canadians in jail, for which liberals applaud. Seems to me they don't understand the definitoin of mandatory, but hey, I'm on Montreal Simon, where double-think rules the day, every day.

Liberals call for a respectful tone, and Simon carries on photoshopping, strawmanning, and maligning conservatives.

But back to PM Sound bite.

Harper is accused of muzzling scientists, media goes apeshit. PM Sound bite muzzles civil servants, crickets.

    http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/clock-ticking-on-canadas-refugee-plan-while-un-diplomats-express-concern-over-timeline#pq=1BJnXC

"The officials did not want to be identified because diplomats and immigration officers have been told by Ottawa not to speak about the matter, with all requests referred to the government."

"But-but-but it's different because Trudeau is pretty and not a sexist racist bigot."

Sure. Unless you're Catholic. Or evangelical. Or white. Or a gun-owner. Or a heterosexual. Or male....

    "It's cause you're bitter!"

Sure, keep telling yourself that... I'll shortly go back to keeping quiet, and rolling my eyes at the staggering double-think, projection, and an outright denial of reality. But first, one more.

We're going to pull our CF-18's back, because, well, because, Trudeau. And hopey-change. But we're going to increase the number of trainers, who so far, are the only Canadian's who've actually exchanged fire with ISIS. The CF-18 mission is largely monodirectional, while our people on the ground can easily find themselves in ISIS crosshairs. I seem to remember Trudeau complaining incessantly about that, and it was a collection of horrendously stupid remarks, which only demonstrated that he doesn't understand that even on non-combat missions, that combat might still have to happen, because, newsflash PM Sound bite, war is messy.

Trudeau does make me sick. He's a brainless empty suit who does what he's told, by equally ignorant brainless Canadians. But that IS actually the point, as sick as Trudeau makes me, the average unthinking Canadian who voted for style over substance makes me feel considerably more sick. If cabinet, and the PM are reflective of Canada, then that's FAR from a good thing, it means that Canadians are fucking stupid morons who are easily distracted by shinny objects. This is self-evident when it becomes painfully obvious that for all their stupid rhetoric, they haven't taken the time to understand what the word "mandatory" actually means.

But we can't have an honest critic, no... The now irrelevant Conservatives, they're they bad guy.

So help me out whydoncha? Write Trudeau and ask him to ask Obama to start accepting Canadian refugees, like me. I have a feeling the GOP won't object to people who want to move to America who also don't want to wreck the place.

  10. Bergen must be getting tipsy on the plane as all her tweets spew out at once when she turns her phone on. The unlimited wine in 1st class must be going to her head and the puss leaks out when she's drunk. The sooner all these rats are disposed of the better. Then there is Tom Lukiwski, the pride of Moose Jaw, who calls a female NDP candidate a whore and called his opponents "Homosexual faggots with dirt under their fingernails who transmit diseases" He obtained a statement of support from Rona Ambrose today over his "whore" comment. Apparently he said "horde". "He's too important of an MLA to let go down to an NDP" — and at this point Lukiwski says either "whore" or "horde" —"just because of a bad boundary." If he said 'horde' he must lack familiarity with the English language. They are all bottom feeders!

Later in the day, interim Conservative Party Leader Rona Ambrose released a statement saying she had spoken with Lukiwski about the matter and accepted his explanation.

"I have seen the video in question and it is very difficult to determine what was said," Ambrose said. "Mr. Lukiwski strongly denies that he used the word in question. He has also reached out to the NDP candidate in order to assure her that no such insult was ever used or intended."

If derogatory language had been used, any caucus member would already have been removed, she said.

"I have accepted Mr. Lukiwski's explanation in regards to these comments," she said.
These are the drowning Con rats! They failed to jump ship in time.

"Liberals call for a respectful tone, and Simon carries on photoshopping, strawmanning, and maligning conservatives."

Unless I missed something, Simon is simply giving his personal opinion, and is not creating biting satire on behalf of the federal Liberals. All Canadians are still allowed to have opinions. Direct your anger toward the actual politicians. Ideologues who treat private individuals and political opponents alike as "enemies" are what's been wrong with Canada for the past 9-10 years.
