The Wheels Really Are Falling Off the Con Campaign
As you know I've been having a bit of fun following the Con campaign bus as it roars down the road, from one tightly controlled photo op to another.
Or limps into third place.
And for a few weeks I've been hearing rumours that all is not well on the big blue machine.
And that Jenni Byrne, the PMO pit bull and Con campaign boss, has been scaring the bejesus out of almost everybody onboard...
And now it turns out those rumours were true. The wheels really are coming off the Con campaign.
And a lot of them are blaming Byrne.
With polls suggesting that Stephen Harper’s Conservatives are now in third place, the Tories may be looking to refresh their campaign. A senior Conservative strategist tells CTV’s Ottawa Bureau Chief Robert Fife that the campaign needs a reset and there’s discontent with campaign manager Jenni Byrne.
With good reason.
She has been criticized by party insiders for a style they call secretive and dictatorial, and has also been accused of freezing out experienced party operatives.
She is a ghastly bully, and an absolute fanatic, who thinks she can get away with anything because she's the kind of Con operative Stephen Harper admires.
Asked at a campaign stop Tuesday whether Byrne still has his confidence, Harper said: “I’m not going to dignify those kinds of stories with a response.”
She's always been a Harper groupie...
She was once Pierre Poilievre's girlfriend...
So needless to say she's an absolute beast...
And now that she's desperate she must be a sight to behold.
And the best news? She has gathered a group of young fanatics around her, so if Harper is forced to fire her it will not only be a blow to him, it will also be a blow to them.
The Con campaign could be weakened and demoralized.
Great Leader might be forced to practically drive the bus himself.
And since he's as good a driver as he is an economist.
That can only lead to disaster...
The Majority Express is now the Con Clown Express.
The wheels are falling off.
And it's heading for a hard landing...

Very unfair of you, Simon, for being so cruel! Snicker snicker!
ReplyDeletehi Kathleen...I don't mean t be cruel, but bullies like Byrne offend every bone in my body. And she deserves what she gets...
DeleteWhat wonderful news
ReplyDeletehi anon...yes it is wonderful news. There are still forty days to go, but the Con campaign is in big trouble, and our future has never looked brighter...
DeleteJenni Byrne is an ugly, smelly shit-stain. But that's only because she's the product of a stupid asshole like stephen harper.
ReplyDeletehi thwap... Byrne is a Con fanatic, who drank the Kool Aid at an early age. Like her depraved master she believes that the end justifies the means, and has spent hear career smearing decent Canadians. She's also, as I said above, a ghastly bully. Such a loudmouthed bully that I almost feel sorry for the other Cons on that bus. She is one of the Cons who helped turn our politics into an American-style. and the sooner that stain on our democracy can be removed from power the better...
DeleteThe Cons can still benefit from the Liberal and NDP divide, as the Liberals have been siphoning support from the NDP which feeds into Harper's divide-and-conquer strategy. He could drive that smoke-belching bus of nightmares right up through the middle and eke out a plurality victory, even if it is just a minority.
ReplyDeleteThe Cons falling to third place also helps them with their ongoing narrative that they're the oppressed underdog and the only party fighting the good fight against reckless socialism and intellectual eliteness. Harper loves to play the outsider role, that he's the great hero challenging the old big government boogeyman, and doing so from third place can only help that fiction.
I'm very concerned because Harper is in a very desperate position, and for a power hungry man to be in the dire situation of losing that power, he will be capable of anything, and I'm deeply worried about what's going on behind the scenes right now.
Because you know he's scheming and plotting something that will not do any of us any good at all.
Hi Noah...Are you trying to snatch gloom from the jaws of optimism? Shame on you. ;) But seriously, you are right. We can't count our chickens before they are defeated. We need to watch out that we don't split the vote and allow the Cons to wriggle up the middle. But polls show that both the NDP and the Liberals have many supporters who are willing to support the other party wherever that danger looms. So I think that is less of a danger than it has been in other elections. And don't forget that Harper is driving into the face of an enormous desire for change. But of course, as you point out, he is capable of anything, so we must be on our guard and work hard to get out the vote...
DeleteHave I told you I love you? We shall overcome.
ReplyDeletehi anon...Gosh I'm not sure. But thank you anyway. I love all progressives who are fighting to get our country back. And yes, we will overcome, so get ready to party !!!!
