The Real Reason the Con Clown Peter MacKay Resigned
Greg Perry/Toronto Star
Oh boy. I should have figured it out. I should have known the real reason Peter MacKay decided to resign just a few months before an election.
Suddenly decided to ride off gently, or clatter off noisily into the sunset.
He may have wanted to spend more time with his young family, or spend more time fishing.
But I bet this reason was foremost in his mind, or his wallet.
By choosing not to reoffer in this year's federal election, Justice Minister Peter MacKay joins a growing list of Conservative MPs who will avoid the impact of pension changes that will triple the amount they must contribute and lock in the money for an extra 10 years.
MacKay's decision, announced last week, means he will be able to collect his full yearly pension of $128,832 at age 55, instead of 65.
In MacKay's case, those 10 years represent almost $1.3 million.
Which no doubt explains why John Baird jumped first...
And why so many other Cons are in such a hurry to get out.
Soooey!!!! Watch those hogs go !!!!
Now remind me, what did their Great Leader have to say about enhancing the humble CPP for poor people?
Prime Minister Stephen Harper “smirked” and told Kathleen Wynne in a private meeting that Canadians need to save for their own retirement because it’s not up to government to look after them, the Star has learned.
Right.
But then of course he doesn't have to worry about a cushy retirement. He's already worth an estimated $5 million dollars. And you can imagine how big his pension will be.
And he doesn't mind waiting a few years to collect it, because three days after he's defeated he'll probably be working at Imperial Oil again. In whose mail room he got the only real job experience he ever had, before becoming Prime Minister.
And that's only because his daddy got him that job....
Which no doubt explains why our economy is in such trouble.
And makes only too clear the guiding philosophy of his corrupt government...
Austerity for others but not for him.
And yes, it is one more reason to get rid of him and his depraved Con regime.
Bye Bye Great Leader.
Go Dumbo go !!!

So much money has been wasted under Mackay's watch and now we'll be sure to waste so much more in his "golden" years. That is sickening. His tenure has been incompetence on a biblical scale, rewarding friends and family, gross misuse of a search and rescue helicopter etc. etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteWhen the exodus to the freedom 55 lottery is over, Harper may not have many long term MP's left. Those that do stay who could have left are either Harpolovers, stupid, or maybe, decent.

I think I did mention that a few blogs ago. However no matter these indispensible people are fleeing like rats to claim the last chance at a good pension forever a full 12 years before the average Canadian finds out they can only afford cat food.
ReplyDeletehi Steve...yes they really are hypocrites. And when you think that they are the ones opposing the enhancement of the pitiful payments you get from the CPP, and would have poor seniors wait an extra two years before collecting old age security, it couldn't be more disgusting...
DeleteHe is bailing while he can. Yes it might well be the pension, but he has a wack of cash anyhow. Its better to leave the battle field at a draw, then in defeat. I would suggest he is leaving before he is voted out of office.
ReplyDeletehi e.a.f....I don't think MacKay could ever have lost his own seat but since he was the Minister for Atlantic Canada losing all those other seats in that region would have been really embarrassing. And then there's that million bucks....
DeleteNow guess who plans to run in Central Nova???????
ReplyDeletewell his son is too young, so who is? enquiring minds want to know.
