Jason Kenney Disgraces Himself Again

Yesterday I confidently predicted that Jason Kenney would be the worst Defence Minister this country has ever known.

And I accused him of being a holy hypocrite, for claiming he was reaching out to Muslims in this country. While subtly working to whip up hate against them, for crass political purposes.

And sure enough now I see he has proved me right.

In just two tweets.

First there was this one, on International Women's Day featuring among others a group of girls in chains...

Which among other things, clearly tried to associate the wearing of a burqa or niqab, with the oppression of the ISIS crazies.

And clearly elicited the reaction he wanted.

Except that now it turns out that those chained girls are not ISIS victims, they are Shia Muslims taking part in a religious procession.

Kenney did not explain that the first image is actually from a ceremonial Shia Ashura procession that celebrates the heroism of the prophet Mohammad’s grandson, Hussein, and his family. The girls and women in the photo Kenney tweeted symbolize Hussein’s sister, who was taken in chains to Damascus after he was beheaded.

That is to say, the girls in the photos are actors in a play that depicts events said to have occurred 1,300 years ago.

You know like a Christian Easter procession...

And the rest of the tweet is just as fraudulent.

The third image of women in chains, lower right in Kenney’s tweet, isn’t even an Ashura ceremony. In fact, it’s a 2014 demonstration by a Kurdish group in London, with participants pretending to be ISIS members, to highlight ISIS sex slave market.

In other words, the image Kenney presents to denounce ISIS enslavement of women is, in fact, a pantomime by our allies in the in the war against ISIS.

Then there's this other tweet he put out to mark the tragic death of Sgt. Andrew Doiron...

Which by revealing the faces of special forces members breaks longstanding military protocol, and endangers their security.

The Department of National Defence and its new minister, Jason Kenney, are facing harsh criticism after sharing photos of Canadian special forces members from the ramp ceremony in Erbil, Iraq Sunday honouring Sgt. Andrew Doiron.

NDP national security critic Jack Harris said that people are upset about the images – and he’s surprised that the government shared them. “They’ve always claimed that national security prevents them from talking about special forces,” said Harris.

“It’s contrary to their practice and it’s totally inconsistent as to what they’ve been doing with respect soldiers going to Ukraine,” Harris told iPolitics. “If the government’s concerns are valid, it’s potentially reckless.”

So why would Kenney do that?

Answer: because him and his Cons want to inflame emotions, and use that soldier's tragic death to to try to make the Great War on Terror the main issue of the next election.

And they don't care how many people they hurt with their bigotry, or how many soldier's lives they might endanger. All is propaganda, and all that counts is that bloody majority.

So what did I say about Kenney yesterday? Oh yeah, I remember.

Jason Kenney: The worst Defence Minister this country has ever known.

And just another low Con...

  1. Do they really think that Canadians are too stupid to realize what is going on? I believe so. Make no wonder John Baird jumped the ship!

Hey if it gets votes, so what if their security has been compromised. I believe that Harper's war is being run out of the PMO so they can put their disgusting spin on everything that happens. Despicable.

another dead Canadian solider, another photo op for stevie, the hide in the closet coward.

Reaching out to Muslims? Ya, in a pig's eye.

It is not up to the government to tell a woman what she can and can not wear. Only she should make that decision.

ISIS, well they're just a bunch of boys running around the desert killing people. Actually not so different from gang wars we used to see in L.A. or Columbia. Has harper and his cons looked at the gang drug wars in Mexico. Its not different than the activities of ISIS. So lets get over it. Focus on what is going on in Canada. Harper needs to remember there are 1,200 murdered First Nations women in Canada. Some one killed them. A lot of murderers are walking around Canada free as birds. They've never been arrested, they have never been tried. they have never been sentenced. Harper says an inquire isn't on his "radar". It is also apparent solving these crimes isn't on Harper's agenda either because no resources have ever been allocated for a national crime unit to solve these crimes. In my opinion harper and his cons are simply saying its o.k. to murder First Nations women and he isn't going to do anything about it. He just wants to fight a bunch of boys in the middle east. This man is some weird, but then so is his Christian & Missionary Alliance church who believe the bible is "inerrant" and the second coming is "imminent".
