The Further Insane Adventures of Dean Del Mastro

Uh oh. It looks as if I might  have to correct one of my posts.

Remember how the other day I accused Dean Del Mastro of living in denial.

Well I was wrong eh?

Because I'm sorry to say I now think the Deaner is DELUSIONAL.

MP Dean Del Mastro is filing to reopen his defence against allegations he spent too much in the 2008 election and covered it up. The Peterborough, Ont., MP was found guilty last Friday, but says there is fresh evidence that Elections Canada didn't turn over in time for the trial.

Or to put it crudely, out of his frigging mind....

Or just totally DESPERATE.

Because although his latest gambit might delay the inevitable.

The application to reopen the defence could delay his sentencing. That in turn delays his conviction, a technicality that in turn protects him from the measures that would ban him from taking his seat in the House of Commons and from running for another seat for five years.

And give him some more time in the House of Commons. So he can wave at Stephen Harper from his new seat near the broom closet...

And remind everyone who appointed him. As the NDP's Peter Julian pointed out today:

"The prime minister's former parliamentary secretary has been convicted of election fraud," Julian noted — the "same individual" who, he added, "defended the Conservatives' scheming and robocalls week after week in this place."

"Will the Conservatives admit that when it comes to election fraud, they're the champions?"

And of course should Harper call an election before the sentencing, the Deaner could help split the vote in his riding by running as an independent, and make sure that him AND the Con candidate go down in flames.

Which would also be fine with me eh?

But if the gambit doesn't work, he can forget about the House of Commons, and start thinking about the Big House...

Because let's face it, when the judge that convicts you says this about your testimony:

In her decision, Judge Lisa Cameron said that in her view, from the timing of the contract and its language, it "is plainly a contract for election services." She also said that she found Del Mastro wasn't credible, "frequently obfuscated" during his testimony and that there were a number of inconsistencies.

And then you say that's just her OPINION.

And then you try to delay the sentencing because YOU couldn't get your act together:

Del Mastro, in an interview with Rosemary Barton on CBC News Network's Power & Politics last Friday, said there was a debate until the last few days of the trial whether they should bring a motion to present additional evidence. In the end, however, he and his lawyers did not.

When the Day of Judgment finally arrives, it's probably going to be VERY unpleasant, or even MORE exemplary.

And the only thing that can save Del Mastro is if he can find a friendlier judge...

And that ain't going to happen. Because one, I'm pretty sure Judge Lisa will want to have her...um... say.

And two, Judge Vicky is wearing an ankle bracelet to prevent him from leaving Manitoba. For obvious reasons.

But the best news is that whatever happens, the Deaner will play a HUGE role in the next election campaign. We'll make sure of that.

We'll use him as yet another example of Stephen Harper's appalling judgement.

Along with Ol' Duff and the Senate gang, Michael Sona and the Robocall gang, Ol' Brucie Carson.

And of course his new Parliamentary Secretary Paul Calandra...

Because Harper sure knows how to pick them eh?

And yeah, this isn't a government anymore.

It's a Con clown show.

Or a crime show.

Canadians have had enough of all of them.

And they're all going down TOGETHER...

  1. Let's not forget Brad Butt the lying con MP from Mississauga or the philandering Bob Dechert another Mississauga Con MP who fell for the Chinese spy, or another Mississauga con Eve Adams who likes to use her position and relationships to circumvent the rules, or the two con religious fanatics, Ambler & Lizon who want to bring in anti-abortion laws, also from Mississauga. It's called the Mississauga blues.

    1. hi Kathleen....I know, I know, it is so hard to explain. I've been thinking about it for more than eight years, and I still don't have the answer. But what I do know is that their time is up, and they will soon be evicted...

  3. hi WILLY...yes indeed the list goes on and on. One of the reasons I write this blog is to help me remember all their crimes against Canada. Because there are so many of them it would otherwise be impossible. Who knew we would have to face such an alien invasion, or that to would last for so long? But you know my philosophy. The tougher the slog, the wilder the PARTY... ;)

Questions and then some. Are Paul Calandra and Dean Del Mastro twin sons of insanity? Do we need to be blowing up dump trucks in the middle east with very expensive military industrial complex laser guided 500 lb.bombs? Can we see the video of Mr.Vickers leaping Rambo style,as described by Evan Solomon on CBC to shoot and kill Bibeau? So many questions. So little time.

    1. hi anon...yes they are the twin sons of insanity, and that's why they were chosen by Stephen Harper. So they can turn our Parliament into a fascist circus and degrade our democracy. This country now has its values backwards, and it will not be Canada again until the filthy Con regime is defeated...

This is what I love about Conservatives. They talk a great deal about law and order for the rest of us but when it comes to their own breed, they can't take responsibility for their own actions and own up it like adults. There is truly a sense of entitlement here that the rule of law just doesn't apply to these scumbags because their greater mission in life (to keep Liberals from power) is worth breaking any law and skirting any rule.

Perhaps Del Mastro would prefer to be hauled away in handcuffs to force him to 'step down' because this is what is badly needed to bring people like this back down to Earth.

    1. hi David...you're right it really is the height of hypocrisy. The law and order Cons indeed, what a ghastly farce. But I suggest we may need a tow truck to haul Del Mastro away... ;)
