The Dominatrix and the Ghastly Con Senators

I knew Terri-Jean Bedford was going to get a rough ride, or a verbal spanking, from the Cons on the Senate committee studying the dangerously flawed prostitution bill.

After all, she was one of the three applicants who brought down Canada's prostitution law last December.

And as you know, the Cons in the Senate are a moralistic bunch.

But who knew that they would throw her right out of the room?

Retired dominatrix Terri-Jean Bedford was escorted by security out of a Senate committee meeting after refusing to heed the chair's warning that her allotted speaking time had run out — but not before threatening to make politicians "forget about Mike Duffy."

For the crime of humiliating the Cons by telling the naked truth.

The woman who won a Supreme Court challenge to Canada's prostitution laws told committee members that the government's proposal to criminalize buyers of sex would "make Canada the laughingstock of the world."

Because of course she's right. The bill is a joke. It would make the lives of sex workers  even more dangerous than the last law did...

The only reason the Harperite cult is rushing it through Parliament is to appeal to their rabid religious base for whom sex and "loose women" can't be punished enough.

And so they can use the bill to attack the opposition and the "liberal judges" on the Supreme Court, by claiming they want our children to smoke dope, while watching hookers servicing their clients in the playgrounds of the nation.

Which is as depraved and as filthy as the mind it comes from...

And the only reason Terri-Jean Bedford was expelled from that room, unlike all the others who exceed their time limits, was because she was telling the Cons what they didn't want to hear.

They muzzle sex workers as easily as they muzzle scientists, or generals.

And of course because she's a woman.

For whom their contempt knows no bounds...

Even if it kills them.

And really all I can say is that prostitution is a complex issue, a mixture of reality, fiction, misery, moralistic nonsense, and good old human hypocrisy. But too many sex workers are being killed or hurt, so we need an adult conversation about how to fix that problem before we do anything else. Period.

Making a bad law worse isn't the solution. It's CRIMINAL.

And Stephen Harper and Peter Mackay should be ashamed of themselves...

For playing politics with human lives.

And yes, when that bill becomes law, as we know it will in this diseased Harperland.

Bedford should definitely carry through with this threat:

"If this law passes, I'm going to make you guys forget about (suspended senator) Mike Duffy. Because I got more information and proof on politicians in this country than you can shake a stick at. I promise."

Because although I don't want her to stop Mike Duffy from telling us some juicy Con stories at his upcoming trial.

Or in his book...

Because I bet he has some good ones eh?

I really wouldn't mind if she exposed the sleaziness and the hypocrisy of some of those powerful old men in Ottawa. Who would frolic in a fancy hotel room with an expensive escort, while condemning poor women to death in the streets.

And since I once saw Stephen Harper on TV, asking a CBC reporter who had been expelled from a news conference, whether she liked handcuffs.

With a look in his normally cold dead eyes, that sent a shiver down my spine.

I would REALLY appreciate it, if the lady in leather could embarrass Stephen Harper all the way to the next election...

Help us humiliate him and his depraved Cons.

And chase them out of Ottawa.

So we can make this country safer and more decent...

Oh, god Simon, if Ms. Bedford published her "john book" I don't think I could take it. At least if she and Duffy get their books out by Christmas, no one will have to wonder what to get me for Christmas. Please Ms. Bedford publish now and publish frequently. Voters deserve to know which of our "conservative/god fearing" politicos are using the services of sex trade workers.

It is always amusing to hear these self righteous blow hards talking about sex trade workers as if they were a disease. They have customers and those customers aren't all poor substance abusing lumps of humanity. To earn what some sex trade workers charge, you need serious money. Who has "serious money"? Well serious people, you know the doctors, lawyers, judges, politicians, company executives, diplomats, cops, the list goes on. What hypocracy.

Who uses the services of a sex trade worker should be someone's private business, but if they are voting against this bill their names deserve to be "out there". As to the excuse, it will hurt their families. They already did that when they decided to "use/abuse" a sex trade workers.

    1. hi e.a,f....yes they are a gang of shameless hypocrites. It's a;ways the same thing with Cons whether they are here, in the U.S. and Britain. They scream the loudest about sexual morality and yet they are the ones who are always getting caught in embarrassing situations. I think it's part of the Con psyche and no wonder we're better (and happier) than them....

    1. hi anon...you mean so why can track them wherever they go? Now THAT is a scary thought.

P.S. Are they large enough to be microchipped, or will we have to implant them in their asses. ;)
