The Harper Spammers and the Con War on the CBC

It's such a bizarre request for money, it could only have come from the crazed minds of the increasingly desperate fanatics in the dark heart of the Con regime.

Or the criminal mind of a Nigerian or Russian spammer.

For only the Harper PMO would have the nerve to ask their sucker base to send money quickly, to hold back the red menace.

The governing Conservatives are asking supporters to dig deep for what they are billing as the most expensive political campaign to date, the 2015 election battle the Tories are trying to frame as a choice between Stephen Harper’s economic record and “inexperienced Liberals like Justin Trudeau” or the “leftist ideologues like Thomas Mulcair.”

For an election that isn't supposed to be held until October 2015.

And claim the reason they need the money so urgently, like right NOW, is because they are under attack by the sinister left-wing media cartel.

“Media convergence has greatly complicated our Conservative Party efforts to present the unfiltered facts and foundations behind our policies for economic growth, our faith in family values and our commitment to jobs, free trade and prosperity,” Mr. DeLorey wrote.

When in fact, the MSM always bends in their rightward direction like the leaning Tower of Pisa.

And the real reason they are trying to spam their supporters so shamelessly is because some of them have been keeping their Harper dollars in their piggybanks, outraged by their scandals and their treatment of veterans.

And because the Cons cut subsidies to political parties, in a failed attempt to kill the Liberals, they now need that rabid base and its dough more than ever. So they need to rile it up, and are willing to offer it ANYTHING.

The party is asking key donors to fill out a “National News Media Evaluation Survey” that rates newspapers and TV outlets by their perceived political bias and asks whether supporters believe, for instance, that “the CBC costs taxpayers too much and its operations should be privatized.”

Like a chance to intimidate the media, and kill the CBC. Even as Stephen Harper and his Cons slowly hack it to pieces.

CBC executives are planning a fresh round of service cuts, including making Radio 2 online-only and merging some French and English programs, according to an arm’s-length watchdog group.

The public broadcaster has been struggling with federal budget cuts and flagging TV ratings and announced in April it would cut some 657 jobs.

Or drown it in a bathtub...

As their deranged leader would do to anyone who would dare defy him...

In his never-ending attempt to destroy every living symbol of the Canada he hates so much.

And what I take from that deranged Con spam mailing, apart from the fact that they are clearly desperate, and about as Canadian as a three dollar bill, is that their Death Machine is in a high state of arousal.

And that as I warned last night, an election could come much sooner that most people imagine.

For what's to stop Harper from calling an election in the fall, claiming he needs a mandate to build his Northern Gateway pipeline? Or a mandate to protect Canadians from the criminals, liberal judges, and the left-wing media cartel who are blocking his foul crime legislation.

So we should be ready for ANYTHING...

But yeah, won't it be great when we can finally tune out that ghastly Con propaganda show?

That insane dribble, that Republican-style garbage, that political pornography.

Oh boy. I live for the day when those foul Cons are defeated.

Canada is clean again.

The nightmare is finally over.

And we can do to the Harper Channel.

What he would do to the CBC...

Of course in the last federal election, among the major media, only the Toronto Star did not endorse the Cons. It did not even endorse the Libs, but actually endorsed the NDP.

But, hey, did you see the recent poll by Ekos? There appears to be an inverse correlation between educational level attained and tendency to vote for the political parties. With the Cons, their highest level of support came from those with high school diplomas while their lowest support came from those with university level education.

This suggests the obvious: the better educated tend not to vote Cons. Usually when they are better educated, they tend to be better informed. So Harper is actually counting on his base being ill informed, less educated, perhaps even less intelligent, so that he can scam them that the majority of media is left leaning when it is actually right leaning. Just think about the crowd at Sun Media (Worthington. Levant, etc.). Then there is the Postmedia group: Ivison, Kennedy, Gunter, etc.. And of course who could leave out Blatchford, Wente, Ibbitson, Clark, Kheiriddin, perhaps even Laurie Graham at the CTV? I can hardly think of one who appears liberal: any names? The rest of the media appear pretty balanced: Maher, Martin, McGregor, Coyne, Hebert, Tim Harper, etc. Case closed.

    1. hi anon...I'm not surprised by that Ekos poll, because it's clear to me that anyone who still supports the Cons deserves to be watered rather than fed. There is a brutish ignorant redneck streak in this country and Harper and his Cons rely on that to keep them in power. That and the grubby ten percent who with do anything for a tax cut. And of course, that includes the owners of the struggling MSM. Some reporters may criticize the Cons, but as you point out, when crunch time comes most of their bosses endorse them. And the good news? We are also the media and we can't be bought....

The right wing press tend to slavishly support their politicians - they can do no wrong. Those who are seen as leftist are actually more neutral. The CBC for example, reported in depth on the Liberal AdScam issue as well as the Duffy/Wallin issue, and in both cases castigated the government for wrongdoing. If they were truly leftist, the way the right wing media are, AdScam would have been excused, even praised.

I find the F*** Elections Act coverage is interesting. The con supporters are always saying that ID should be required to vote and what's the big issue? Well, personally, I think the big issue is that we are asking people to prove their address, but not citizenship. If a TFW walks into a polling booth and flashes a driver's licence, they will be handed a ballot, no questions asked. There are half a million of them in Canada now, and I'm sure many of them would be happy to vote however their boss tells them too. THAT bugs me, but there is nothing in bill C-23 to stop it!

You might be a wee bit late with the CBC thing, Simon (not that you haven't warned us about this exact thing for a long time). They already sound a hell of a lot like cnn to the south of us right now. I watched it for a bit the other day and their "news" is sounding disturbingly reminiscent of the amerikan "news" drivel and garbage that gets "reported" to their drooling, proud-as-hell-to-be-ignerant, (yeah, my spell check is working) idiot, right-wingnut, christofascist populace that just eats up the "nigger in the white house" crap that passes for news there these days. (not that O-Bomb-a is anywhere near a saint) How much money have the koch brothers contributed to harpie's crime family here again?

    1. hi Mahmoud...I realize the CBC isn't what it once was, and I can barely watch their news channel, so shallow is its drivel. But they are still capable of doing some great journalism, they were the ones who exposed the foreign workers scam, and they still look more Canadian than some of the other private channels. I'm hoping that the loss of hockey will force them to redefine themselves, drop the fluff, and become more serious. And we can use the CBC cuts, and the foreign worker's scandal to paint the Cons as grubby sellouts who hate everything Canadian. As I always say, thank them for the weapons, and then use them against them...

The CBC has been the voice for Canada and our window on the world since, before WW2. Thousands of Canadian families gathered around the radio, to listen to the news of the war, the King's speeches, Churchill's speeches and heard the reporters, right on the battlefields. I had six members of family, that served in WW2 and they certainly listened to CBC. However, the CBC has changed.

As far as CBC going across the border, Harper is very busy Americanizing Canada. We have American Police operating in Canada, exempt from our laws. Obama hammered out Obamacare, similar to our health care. . Harper encourages Canadians to shop across the border. Harper even made it easier to bring back, even more goods. There is talk of our cost of living being brought in line with the US.

To me, this is the onset of the NAU. At the last meeting of the 3 Amigo's?

Then there is: Harper gives a speech in New York at the, Council of Foreign Relations. Sept 25/2007. Harper fully endorsed the NAU.

Mansbridge, Harper and ex BC Liberal Premier Gordon Campbell, all attended the Bilderberg meetings. Harper nearly burst into tears when his good buddy, ex BC Liberal Premier Gordon Campbell was forced to resign. Harper rewarded Campbell the post as, High Commissioner to the UK. Campbell does a lot of dirty work for Harper.

I don't know others opinions are? To me, the dots do connect and I smell a rat. I would be more than happy if, someone told me I was wrong.

    1. hi anon...as I told that other commenter, the CBC did break the foreign worker's scandal by exposing the situation at RBC, and it's given us a mighty weapon to use against the Cons. I'd like to see the place shaken up, and people like Rex Murphy fired. But it still has some excellent journalists, and the way the Cons are treating that cultural institution is absolutely disgusting...

it would be smart for Harper to call an election right after the Ontario provincial election. Other parties and workers would be tired and not have a lot of money. Harper is simply getting his war chest ready for a snap election. It is to be hoped the other parties get into campaign mode asap and stop firing at each other. They need to fire at Harper. Trudeau and Mulcair ought to stop trying to prevent the other from becoming P.M. If they worked to ensure Harper wasn't going to be P.M., they would have at least a 50% change of becoming P.M. Now its only 30%. Those boys just don't get it.

We don't even get decent news in Canada anymore. The MSM doesn't tell us much except for the smash and graps and lead if it bleeds stuff. Right now in B.C., we only became aware of Harper wanting to "gift" Quebec with a new bridge to the U.S.A. with no tolls, at the cost of FIVE BILLION DOLLARS. There was nothing in the MSM. Then a blogger, Keeping it Real, put it out there. Now some of us in B.C. know. While B.C. residents have to pay tolls on major bridges to go to work, and its not cheap, we didn't get a nickel from Harper/Ottawa.

Quebec wants a bridge, Harper wants to pay for it. The first bridge was paid for with tolls, the second one can be also. Five Billion for a Bridge to the U.S.A., not on my nickel. Did the MSM give that information out? NO. A blogger did.

    1. hi e.a.f....make no mistake the Cons are looking at the possibility of an early election. Their nomination process is far more advanced than the progressive parties, they have all the money they need, and they are looking for an opportunity to strike before they are struck by more scandals, or people get even more tired of them. I still think it will be the Spring, but a lot hot summer of Northern Gateway pipeline protests could still mean a fall election....

I don't think Harper dare call an early election when his poll numbers are so bad in the toilet next to Justin.

    1. hi anon...while it's true that the Con numbers prevent them from calling an election at the present time, if Justin trudeau's number slip a bit, and a Liberal/NDP vote split becomes more apparent, all they need is about five percent more, and they can gamble on making up the other five percent during a campaign that they believe will overwhelm their opponents.
The other advantage of going early is that people are getting tired of the Cons and the longer they hang on before another election the worse that problem will become. So we can't rule anything out and we must be ready...

  8. Cons convicted of election fraud in 2006, with over $200k paid in fines, but not a single day of jail time for this major crime.

Cons convicted of election fraud in 2008, with Dean Del Maestro charged, and Peter Penashue "doing the honourable thing" and resigning in the face of clear violations and reports of illegality.

Election fraud confirmed in 2011, with foreign newspapers calling the election "a sham" and "rigged"; CIMS database confirmed the source of the data used to perpetrate the fraud, which is encrypted, password-locked, access-logged, and access is restricted to high-ranking Cons only.

"Computer records show campaign volunteer John White downloaded the lists of opposition supporters that may have been used to make the call. White told investigators in 2012 he could not recall why he downloaded them." from the National Post's article, "Former campaign worker granted immunity after he gives evidence in ‘Pierre Poutine’ robocalls case."

The guilty have been rewarded, enabled, empowered, and allowed to run amuck since at least 2006. We require a severe and thorough audit of government, and Harper's allies in the private sector must be uncovered and punished.

    1. hi Matthew...I agree with you the record is scandalous, and the guilty should be punished. But I'm afraid that unless the police cooperate, we will only get justice when the Cons are finally defeated, and a massive investigation into what they have been secretly up to can finally begin...
