The Day Obama Humiliated Stephen Harper

Well we all know he's an oil pimp. We all know he says he's an economist.

We all know he's been claiming that the Keystone XL pipeline would create tens of thousands of jobs in the United States.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper told an American audience today that the Keystone XL pipeline "absolutely needs to go ahead." Harper said the project will create 40,000 jobs south of the Canadian border and that can't be ignored.

And trying to embarrass Obama into approving the Keystone XL pipeline.

But unfortunately for Great Oily Leader you can't fool all the people all the time. And unlike him Obama CAN count.

U.S. President Barack Obama called into question the number of jobs that would be created from the controversial Keystone XL pipeline in an interview with the New York Times released on Saturday.

"There is no evidence that that's true. The most realistic estimates are this might create maybe 2,000 jobs during the construction of the pipeline, which might take a year or two, and then after that we're talking about somewhere between 50 and 100 jobs in an economy of 150 million working people."

Which leaves Harper looking either like a liar, or an IDIOT.

Or a mad prophet.

Harper said it's either going to be pipelines or railways that bring Canadian crude oil to the U.S. and that railways would be more challenging to the environment than pipelines that are properly built.

Because at least he got that one right eh?

Oh boy did he ever.

So where does that leave the Keystone XL pipeline? Good for Alberta and China, good for the Koch brothers, bad for everybody else (except those FIFTY workers).

And TERRIBLE for the planet.

And how does that leave Stephen Harper looking?

Well you be the judge.

Like a Liar? An idiot? A mad prophet?

A man who believes that he can brainwash people into believing anything, if he repeats it enough times?

Or a just Con klown...

Or all of the above.

OMG. What an embarrassment.

When will his ghastly act be over?

When can we give him the HOOK?

never let it be said stevie slime would be influenced by facts, which are not his own. The pipeline will creat a lot of problems for the enviornment. Personally, I'd consider trains a better way to transport the stuff, if the trains had proper tankers and the rails were maintained. We have seen a number of train accidents this summer. It may well be with the heat, the rails themselves are the problem. However, with corporations constantly cutting back on maintenace and workers, accidents aren't accidents they were incidents which were going to happen.

Trains have fewer workers than they once did, move at faster speeds, have less maintenace, and fewer experienced workers.

As to the "jobs" thing, stevie slime and his ilk will always hold that branch out. We have yet to see a lessening of unemployment in north america. When we see stats which claim it has, do they really take into consideration people who have been unemployed more than a year? Not so much. You have simply to look at what people are no longer buying.

    1. hi e.a.f...Stephen Harper and his Con cult are always pulling figures out of their asses, and then by constant repetition, trying to brainwash us into believing them. Their phony job numbers are totally misleading, and I'm glad Obama has finally corrected Harper's Keystone XL fantasies. Pipelines are generally not job intensive, unless they rupture or explode, but if you watch the ads running on American TV you'd think they are the answer to all our economic problems. We need to replace the Harper oil pimps so we can have a sane discussion about resource development before they take us down a path that we will bitterly regret later...

can anything be done about the captcha. it frequently isn't on. You find out about that after you have written your comments. It might be helpful if the captcha was there first, so you know whether to bother writing or not. Or switch to another form of captcha. The best captcha I've seen on any blog is Keeping it Real with Harvey Oberfield,in Vancouver, B.C. Its always on, always able to see, etc. just a thought

    1. hi e.a.f....I'm sorry I didn't realize it was causing problems. I only turned it on at a time when I was being bombarded with spam, but now that my other spam filters seem to work quite well I've decided to turn it off. So you won't have that problem again...

Why not all three - Mr. Harper is so intent on dragging us back to the past . . . "Attention K-Mart shoppers - we've got a special on demented ideologues in Isle 3"

    1. hi anonymous...my view is that Harper is a rigid ideologue who has always enjoyed destroying things rather than building them. And that while sometimes he is an idiot or a mad prophet, he is almost always a liar. And for that alone he deserves to be fired...

It seems, Harper has had a very shady political past, no wonder his behavior is so bizarre. Harper is not for what is good for the country, provinces nor for the people. Harper is for his own power, glory, his own selfish goals and to hell with the people.

Don't forget Harper angered and insulted Obama. Harper told Obama if he didn't make up his mind about the Keystone, he would give the tar oil to China. Obama has been very chilly towards Harper. Both Harper and Premier Redford went to the U.S. to eat crow. Redford even promised, she would hire American War Vets to build the Keystone, on both sides of the border. As Obama said, when the pipeline is done, so are the jobs. Obama sees right through Harper's job numbers.

Perhaps Obama knows, Harper's economic and job action plans, didn't make it off the Hockey Night in Canada billboard. It is very obvious to the world, what Harper is doing to his own country and, especially to the Canadian citizens. Most of the world has no use for Harper, what-so-ever. Harper can't even get countries to trade with Canada.

  5. I would love Obama to label Canada a a rouge regime bent on killing the planet in a maniacal effort to jump-start the Apocalypse.

Oh Harper can count, Simon. Its just that he's just recently mastered how to tie his shoes so he now needs to learn how to properly untie them so that he continue counting past 10.
