Jimbo Flaherty and the Con Country Snatchers

Oh goody. Another episode of The Invasion of the Con Country Snatchers. And tonight it's one of the scariest ones ever !!!!

For as Jim Flaherty prepares to meet with business leaders, we find out what kind of Canada they would like us to live in.

During last year’s sessions with business and policy leaders in Wakefield, Que., the minister was urged to adopt measures to reduce the pay of Canadian workers, limit union power by enacting U.S.-style right-to-work legislation, and allow two-tier health care.

There were also calls for a higher retirement age and to open Canada’s shipping, telecom and airline industries to more foreign competition.

And that little Jimbo, and his deranged master Stephen Harper, will do ANYTHING to please them.

Over the past year, the Conservative government has made several policy moves that unions said will drive down wages. Among them, Canadian companies will be allowed to bring in temporary foreign workers more quickly and to pay them 15 per cent less than the average wage for their jobs.

Steal pensions, bust unions, gut the social safety net, force seniors to work or starve. Do everything they can to turn Canada into a low-wage economy, so Alberta and the rich can get richer, while the rest of us get poorer.

And more desperate...

It's stunning, almost beyond belief, that a government would deliberately try to make its own people poorer. So they can turn them into slaves of foreign interests.

But what's equally disturbing is that so-called Canadian business leaders would try to make the poor pay, for THEIR failure to create jobs. For they would rather sit on their money, and soak up their juicy tax breaks, than help their own people survive.

Great eh? With "friends" like those who needs foreign enemies?

Oh well. At least we know what the One Percent in this country want. And what the Cons want to do to Canada. Turn it into a jungle so brutal and so poor, we can't even afford medicare.

And at least we know that this is now an ideological struggle over the kind of world we want to live in. And that if we don't unite to defeat Stephen Harper and his Con Regime they really will destroy our country.

For this too is true. Those who would turn their own people into slaves. Or build pipelines where none are wanted.

Must first turn their country into a police state...

They really are dumb. They really are dangerous.

Fight them, fight them, fight them.

Don't let them win...

    1. hi anonymous...thanks. I made it in response to the Con attack ad that called Mulcair "dangerous." I want everyone to know who the really dangerous leader is...

  2. Remember when Lisa Raitt told her assistant that some Canadian bankers told Michael Ignatieff that there'd be hell to pay if the Liberals forced an election and she says the Liberals backed down?

(John MacCallum replied that her story was absurd, but who knows?)

    1. hi thwap....I do remember that story, and it affected me deeply. I could never trust the Ignatieff Liberals after that. But after everything that has happened since, I can't believe that business leaders in this country could make such reactionary proposals. That's globalism for you, your own people mean nothing...

    1. hi Steve...thanks, I must admit I had a bit too much fun making this video. I'm working on a series of shorter ones and I'll be using more of my own video, AND my voice. So hopefully it will be twice as scary.... ;)

    1. hi Kim....thank you. I do love making videos, although they can be really time consuming, and leave no time for blogging. But I'm looking for a way to combine both, where part of the post is written, and part of it is a video with narration. When I criticize the Harper Regime I want to be able to better express how I feel about it. And my sense of loss...

    1. hi Way Way Up....thank you. I just had to register my disgust at the way those so-called Canadian business leaders could recommend turning our country into a low wage economy, making so many so miserable while they get richer. The way I see it they should be coming up with ideas, and new industries, to help make all of us richer. But as I pointed out in the post, all they are doing is sitting on their money, boosting their profits with job cuts and tax breaks. Big business used to have some sense of community, but not any longer....
