Stephen Harper's Great Burro Tour
Ca...ca...ca...caramba. I see Presidente Crapper has arrived in Colombia. On what the Globe and Con is calling his "victory lap."
But I prefer to call his Great Burro Tour.
Critics of free trade with Colombia who talk about human rights are really more concerned about protectionism, Stephen Harper claims.
“We can’t block the progress of a country like this for protectionist reasons, and you trying to use human rights as a front for doing that,” Harper said in Colombia’s presidential palace after being asked about critics who cite human-rights concerns in dealing with the country.
Because either he's losing his marbles eh?
On Monday, a Canadian company’s oil operations were attacked by what Colombian military officials says were FARC militants.
Or he's losing his moral compass
More labour leaders are killed in Colombia every year than in the rest of the world combined. Trade unionists are terrorized to put a chill on union organizing. This keeps unions weak and wages miserable low. It benefits businesses' bottom line and keeps Colombia attractive for foreign investment.
Or maybe the next time he calls the NDP communists, he wants them to call him a FASCIST. Huh?
Or maybe he's just been listening too much to his travelling companion John Baird...
Gawd. How much humiliation can we endure? Yesterday the world was calling him Presidente Crapper. Today they're calling him Presidente IDIOTA.
I mean why would anyone want to export jobs to Colombia when we don't have enough jobs for Canadians? And what does it say about Stephen Harper when his favourite country in Latin America, is the most repressive country on the continent, and the home of drug lords and death squads?
Right. Hee haw. Hee haw. The Great Burro Tour continues. And so does the shame.
Con times are embarrassing times.
Cue the dancing chihuahua...
