The Attack of the Homophobe Zombies

Well it didn't take long. No sooner had gay marriage won two big victories.

When the full moon came out.

And so did the Homophobe Zombies.....

Although now that I've seen that video again I think they remind me more of the cannibals from The Night of the Living Dead.

But one thing is for sure..... if you want to know how evil they are just check out their talking points.

Language to avoid at all costs: "Ban same-sex marriage." Our base loves this wording. So do supporters of SSM. They know it causes us to lose about ten percentage points in polls. Don’t use it. Say we’re against “redefining marriage” or in favor or “marriage as the union of husband and wife” NEVER “banning same-sex marriage.”

Oh boy. I could say so many bad things about them. I could call them smarmy lying bigots. I could say that homophobia is just a particularly virulent form of syphilis.

And that if they think OUR love threatens THEIR freedom it's obviously spread to their lizard brains.

I could tell this Blogging Tory that he's an absolute drooling moron.

But why bother? When their own miserable lives are their own worse punishment.

And I got the remix..... to remind the wingnuts when the storm finally arrives.

Don't forget to bring an umbrella....

You know despite all these annoying cannibal zombies running around.

If the Monkey God hadn't made me gay.

I'd be REALLY disappointed...

The talking points link is quite interesting. Crafted for those with short memory spans and inability to argue or debate sensibly.

Talking points are for trained parrots.

That's what most of these people are.

Back a few years ago when SSM was debated, members of the Christian right would use the word "foundational" in the opening sentence of their rebuttal or address. Seems, they all had the same song sheet.

Someone's gotta do the thinking for them.

  2. I don't think that using "we oppose redefining marriage" is going to work for them either. This would imply that they also oppose (or opposed) the "redefinition of marriage" that occurred within the past 40-50 years to allow persons of different races to marry legally in the United States.

They're on the losing end of the argument, they know it, they're desperate.

  3. Hi Torontonian...

Yeah...but isn't everything these days? Apparently it's a $1.5 million campaign so it's been focus tested etc.
I prefer the old fire and brimstone stuff.
But we shall see. Some say they won't get far because people are too worried about the economy. But with the amount of anger in America these days who knows? Anything could happen...

  4. Hi Frank...I think you're right. In the end they are doomed. I saw a mapp somewhere today that shows that support for gay marriage is growing by two percent each year which is directly tied to demographics.
But as I was mentioning to Torontonian I'm afraid that in these crazy times in the U.S. the culture wars could flare up again.
And besides you know I'm impatient but two per cent a year is REALLY slow... :)

    From the talking points:

"Gays and Lesbians have a right to live as they choose,
they don’t have the right to redefine marriage for all of us."
    -------------
By the same token, Christians don't have the right to redefine marriage for the rest of us. Marriage is a stage-of-life event. It is not a Biblical creation.

    -----------------
    rules by activist judges
    ------------------

That's pretty rich on the eve of Good Friday. Why was Jesus crucified? Pontius Pilate was a Procurator. His judgement was activist in nature rather than remedial.

    -------------

“If courts rule that same-sex marriage is a civil right, then, people like you and me who believe children need moms and dads will be treated like bigots and racists.”
    --------------
What is the reasoning behind this assumption? There is none. This is the Martyr's Card--the one who thinks he does right is seen in a wrong light.
Similarly the Karla card. Karla Homolka, remember her, after prison portrayed herself as the woman victimised by the system, all the while hoping people would forget how predatory and vicious she was.

    ----------------

“When the idea that children need moms and dads get legally stigmatized as bigotry, the job of parents and faith communities trying to transmit a marriage culture to their kids is going to get a lot harder.”
    ----------------

Hasn't been a problem so far. Children are very accepting of "otherness" in their friends. Maybe more of the adults should get down on the floor and meet their children in their domain.
They could learn a lot and help eradicate the poison these people are perpetrating as Biblical.

    ------------------
The people of this state will lose our right to keep marriage as the union of a husband and wife. That’s not right.”
    ------------------
Heterosexual marriage will not be exclusively the sole domain for those wishing to marry. This represents a challenge to Biblical monopoly as seen by the (self-)righteous.
The further idiocies of people marrying their dog or granny is beyond the pale of reason but the likes of Michael Coren and others like to perpetuate such
baseless rumours merely for the sensational value they offer their listeners.

  6. Hi Torontonian...WOW thanks for demolishing the wingnut arguments point by point. I wanted to do that but unfortunately I'm horribly lazy. So thanks a lot !! I'm going to have to hire you as my Demolisher in Chief... :)
You know quite apart from their ridiculous and intellectually corrupt arguments what amazes me is the energy these people have for hating others.
What freaky freaks. As I said in my post, the miserable lives are their own worst punishment. Although after this latest outrage I will have to redouble my efforts to make them even MORE miserable... ;)
