Randy Rainbow and the Mad Doctor Trump
Donald Trump isn't playing the mad doctor any longer, and suggesting that you can cure COVID-19 by injecting disinfectant into your veins, or shoving a powerful light up your rear end.
Not after he was informed that poison control calls have been soaring.
Not after learning that his polls are tanking.
And not after he finally figured out that people are laughing at him all over the world.
Justin Trudeau and the War to Save Canada
Justin Trudeau's last two months must have seemed to him like two years.
For not only has he had to lead the war against COVID-19, and try to stave off economic collapse.
He has also had to deal with the horror of a mass murder, and a fire at his mother's home.
But somehow he has managed to stay calm, while overseeing the biggest rescue operation in Canadian history.

COVID-19: Why We Still Don't Know How It's Killing Us
I see the pictures of the coronavirus deniers on TV, echoing the murderous ignorance of their master Donald Trump.
I talk about them with some of the frontline workers who are risking their lives to try to defeat COVID-19.
We try to laugh at them, but it's so hard when the coronavirus they are mocking is so deadly.

Stronger Together and the Madness of Andrew Scheer
I watched the show Stronger Together last night, which was designed to salute our frontline workers and raise money for food banks across the country.
And I absolutely loved it.
Not because of the music, or all those well known performers, but because it was so so Canadian, and had solidarity written all over it.
And above all sent out the message, we all need to hear: WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
So you can imagine how disgusted I felt when at the end of the show I saw this...

Has Mad Doctor Trump Made A Fatal Mistake?
Why The Cons Should Now Be Called The Bigot Party
A strange thing happened last night. I wrote a post that was published on Progressive Bloggers, but had disappeared early today.
So I'm repeating it under another name in the hope that it won't happen again.
And what I wanted to say was that although I have always known that Andrew Scheer was a racist, he was able to hide that racism from most Canadians.
Until suddenly he couldn't.
When one of his Con MPs attacked Canada's top doctor in the most disgusting manner.

Is Andrew Scheer Hoping To Succeed Himself?
Andrew Scheer has always been a weird bird. He's a religious fanatic, a racist, a misogynist, a homophobe, and a climate change denier.
But lately his kooky behaviour appears to be spinning out of control. He seems to be campaigning for office again, even though he's just a lame duck loser, and he's only supposed to be keeping the seat warm for the next leader.
So much so that it took him forever to react to that horrible massacre in Nova Scotia.
No doubt worried that any talk of gun control might anger his gun loving base.
Or make them believe he wasn't one of them.
Boris Johnson, Covid -19, and the Verdict of History
Because my parents live in Scotland, I'm forced to worry about the fight against Covid-19 in the UK where the Con clown Boris Johnson rules.
Who after surviving his close encounter with Covid-19, has been praising the NHS for saving him.
"I can't thank them enough. I owe them my life," he said in comments that were released to journalists and confirmed by his office on Sunday.
But has yet to admit that he was a victim of his own criminal irresponsibility.

Why The Cons Should Now Be Known As The Trump Party
Why We Are Winning The War Against Covid-19
I haven't felt much like blogging recently. The greyness of these Covid times, and worrying about my friends risking their lives on the front lines of the pandemic, has practically paralyzed me.
When the bug first struck I thought about keeping a Plague Journal, like Daniel Defoe did during the Black Death.
But that didn't last long. In the internet age the story is just too big. Self isolation drained the energy out of me. So soon all I wanted to do in my spare time was watch TV, and sleep. And eat, did I mention eat?
But now I am energized again...

Covid 19: How The Ignorance Of Some Could Kill Us
In my last post I looked at why we need to strictly enforce social distancing if we are ever going to get the Covid-19 pandemic under control.
So we can flatten the curve before a surge of sick people overwhelms emergency rooms in many hospitals across Canada.
And avoid the slaughter of doctors and nurses, the old and the vulnerable.
So you can imagine how I felt when I saw this.

Justin Trudeau and the Con Leadership Failures
It's a great shot. Justin Trudeau meets with some of the members of his Team Canada for the first time after three weeks in self isolation.
With a lunchbox on his desk, and the weight of the world on his shoulders.
But even though he must be exhausted not having taken even one day off, he's out there every morning giving Canadians the latest on the battle to defeat Covid-19.
Even when the news is grim.

Why We Need To Keep Enforcing Social Distancing
Toronto police have been patrolling the city making sure that people are social distancing.
They have been handing out some pretty stiff fines to those who still don't get it.
And I couldn't be more grateful.
For unless we can do more to flatten the curve, and quickly, a lot of Canadians are going to die who might have been saved.

Justin Trudeau and the Covid Cons
The other day, Cathie from the excellent blog Cathie From Canada, left this comment on my blog:
I have never been more proud to be Canadian than I have been since this crisis began. Even Ford is rising to the occasion. Someday I hope to read the story of how Trudeau did it, how he organized the government to put the right people in place to meet this crisis.
And I have to say I feel the same way.
These are dark and desperate times, but unlike many other countries we've got a great Team Canada to help get us through this nightmare....
