Stephen Harper and the Incredible Shrinking Surplus
Well it was only a matter of time before somebody totalled up the damage from the plunging price of oil.
Added it to Stephen Harper's reckless decision to spend billions trying to buy votes.
And concluded that the Con regime's mighty surplus has just about vanished.
Leona Aglukkaq, the Hungry Kids, and the Callous Cons
Last night I wrote about the hunger crisis in the North, and how the hapless Harper stooge Leona Aglukkaq was trying to muzzle critics of the federal Nutrition North program.
As only she could.
Even though the Auditor General was even more scathing in his recent report.
And even though the situation couldn't be more horrifying.

Stephen Harper and the Oily Road to Disaster
He was warned, but Stephen Harper wouldn't listen. Warned that he should not put so many economic eggs in one oily basket.
He was warned that the future would be green, or there would be no future. So it made no sense to turn us into a tarry petro state, and even less sense to torch the planet.
But he was a climate change denier and an oil pimp, so he muzzled his critics, and pressed on ahead in the name of Greater Alberta.
And now the oily basket is bouncing on the sidewalk, and the oily messiah just got dinged by reality.
The Ghastly Leona Aglukkaq and the Hungry North
We all know that Leona Aglukkaq is a shameless climate change denier and the worst Environment Minister in Canadian history.
We know that she is one of the most aggressive hecklers in the House of Commons, or one of its worst bullies.
Well now she's at it again. Denying that some people in a northern community are so hungry they scavenge food from the local garbage dump.
And bullying people as only a Con could.

Julian Fantino and the Cons Scam the Veterans. Again.
It's hard to believe that even when they claim they are making up for treating veterans so shabbily.
Still they can't control themselves.
And still they would scam them.
The Day Jason Kenney Got Taken to the Woodshed
I have written about Jason Kenney's outrageous collaboration with the shadowy Con operative Alexandra Constantinidis
How he used her secretly taped recording to go after a Liberal candidate.
How he refused to apologize after it turned out to be the wrong guy.
And instead delivered this crazed diatribe...
But now he has finally ran out of hot air, or been sedated, and has been taken to the woodshed by the Globe and Mail.
Ezra Levant's Doubly Disastrous Day of Reckoning
I'm sorry I wasn't able to check out Ezra Levant's reaction to the latest court judgement against him.
Because I'm sure it must have been priceless.
Sun News Network host Ezra Levant has been ordered to pay $80,000 in damages for libeling a Saskatchewan lawyer in a series of “reckless” blog posts, according to a Superior Court decision released Thursday evening.
But I'm not surprised that he's reacting like that ghastly bully always does. Portraying himself as a martyr.
And begging for money...

The Battle for Burnaby Mountain and Kinder Morgan's Day of Defeat
They have gathered on Burnaby Mountain to try to prevent the giant energy company Kinder Morgan from drilling a hole through its heart.
Dozens of young and old activists have been arrested.
But today they won a big court victory, and Kinder Morgan got a big slap in the face.
Stephen Harper and the Porky Action Plan From Hell
Well I see Stephen Harper is leaving the country again today, this time to attend the Francophone Summit in Senegal.
Which as you may or may not know is the greatest collection of corrupt dictators in the whole wide world.
But that's not the only reason he's going.
He is no doubt also fleeing Canada so he doesn't have to answer any more embarrassing questions about his latest and most disgusting Porky Action Plan.
Where YOU Get to be the Judge of the Con Clown Awards
As you know I've been having a bit of trouble lately trying to decide who should be awarded my
There are just so many candidates, starting with Great Leader, who deserve it so much.
And today it was just too hard, and too dark in Harperland, for me to make up my mind.
So I'm going to have to ask you my beloved readers, to decide who should receive that award.

Jason Kenney and the Shameless Con Zombies
In my last post I told you how Jason Kenney and a group of Con zombies set out to try to use a secretly recorded conversation to discredit a Liberal candidate in Alberta.
Only to end up looking like clowns when it turned out they had gone after the wrong person.
So you might think they would have the decency to apologize for their idiot mistake, or at least admit they were wrong.
But no they will not, for they are Cons, and they are shameless.

Stephen Harper, Jason Kenney, and the Con Clown Circus
The Ghomeshi Scandal and the CBC Management Cult
About ten days ago I wrote a post about the CBC and the Ghomeshi scandal, and I blamed its hapless managers for creating a cult of celebrity where such a horrible thing could happen.
Then came this shabby incident.
Which not only reinforced my belief that CBC management treats its "stars" like gods. It also convinced me that some of those managers don't know what they're doing, and should be fired immediately.
And now from the guy most responsible for exposing the Ghomeshi scandal comes this latest shocking revelation: CBC management isn't just promoting a celebrity cult.
It's a cult ITSELF!!!!!

Stephen Harper, Stephen Lewis, and the Con Neanderthals
Somewhere in his grim bunker, or his dank closet, Stephen Harper must be celebrating madly.
I'm sure he can't quite believe his good fortune. Or the way the bony hand of fate has saved him from almost certain defeat.
But war has been good for Great Leader, and after trailing Justin Trudeau for a year and a half, he has finally caught him.

Shelly Glover and the New Con Assault on the CBC
I have to admit that when I heard that the Con Heritage Minister Shelly Glover was warning the CBC to boost its ratings, or ELSE, I thought of her former profession.
And of what some bloated foreign fascist, who may or may not have been Hermann Goring once said:
"When I hear the word culture I feel like reaching for my revolver."

How Stephen Harper Screwed the NDP AND Himself
He likes to think of himself as a Great Warrior Leader. And the greatest political genius this country has ever known.
And of course his faithful fanatics in the PMO groom him like a queen bee, and feed his delusions.
But these days I wouldn't be surprised if they are all sitting there in shock, watching Stephen Harper weeping like a baby, or biting the carpet in his closet.
After finally realizing he has made a horrible, possibly fatal, and definitely elementary mistake.
Stephen Harper's Outrageous Boondoggle Tour of the North
We knew it was just another extravagant photo-op, a chance for Stephen Harper to pose as a Great Strong Leader and a Great Explorer.
The man who found the remains of the Franklin expedition, and told Putin to take a hike...
We knew he made an absolute fool of himself.
We knew he managed to spend a week in the Arctic without ever mentioning the words climate change...
Which takes a certain skill. The kind they teach you in prison.
But holy moly poley bear, who knew it was so EXPENSIVE !!!!

When the Harper Cons Don't Listen to Canada's Doctors
In the aftermath of the SARS crisis of 2003, the government created the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the position of Chief Public Health Officer to strengthen this country's medical defences.
After they were shown to be almost catastrophically inadequate.
But now Stephen Harper and his Cons are slashing the Public Health Agency's budget, and neutering the country's top doctor.
And to make matters even worse, they're not even listening to them. They're all but burying their reports.
Stephen Harper and the Great War on the Internet
He rules by fear. He tries to muzzle his opponents. He is terrorizing the civil service, and politicizing the police.
So when the Privacy Commissioner warns that Stephen Harper is trying to control the only thing he can't control, the internet.
Canadians should be alarmed.

Julian Fantino and the Royal Conadian Choir
When I heard the news that Julian Fantino had met with a group of veterans in an apparent effort to rebuild all those bridges he has blown up in the last few years, I was suitably impressed.
Until I found out the meeting was at the Citadel in Quebec City, not Ottawa as is usually the case. So he could get as far away from the Parliamentary media as possible, short of heading for Tuktoyaktuk.
Or Stephen Harper's closet.
And that veterans who weren't prepared to join the choir and sing along with him, weren't invited.

Michael Sona, Stephen Harper, and the Robocall Conspiracy
It was an attempt to steal an election, and today one of Stephen Harper's Cons was sent to jail for that crime against democracy.
Former Conservative staffer Michael Sona has been sentenced to nine months in jail plus a year on probation for trying to keep some voters in Guelph, Ont., from casting ballots in the 2011 federal election.
But it wasn't much of a sentence, and the burning question remains:
What about the others?
For there were others, and it was a conspiracy.
Why The Harper Cons Must Pull These Porky Ads
As you know, I had a little fun yesterday with this latest Porky Action Plan ad, produced and directed by the Con Ministry of Propaganda and Disinformation.
Because it's so misleading, so obviously partisan, such a blatant attempt to brainwash Canadians with their own money.
I simply can't help myself...
For how else are you supposed to react to such totalitarian propaganda? Except laugh in the faces of those who made it.
Stephen Harper and the By-election Message Progressives Cannot Ignore
You'd think Stephen Harper would have been cheered by his two by-election victories in Ontario and Alberta.
But he wasn't. In the Commons yesterday he was tense and irritable.
And with good reason. For when you examine the results closely you can see that hidden in them are the seeds of his own destruction.

The Chaplain, the Con MP, and the Betrayal of the Legion
She's the latest victim of the Con regime's war on Canadian veterans.
A Royal Canadian Legion chaplain who lost her position for having committed the ultimate crime in Stephen Harper's Canada:
Standing up for our veterans and our wounded soldiers.
Will Stephen Harper Really Take a Walk in the Snow?
When I first heard the rumours that Stephen Harper was about to go for a walk in the snow. Or whatever.
And announce that he planned to step down in the New Year, I must admit I was stunned. It just didn't seem to make sense.
His fear campaign is boosting his polls, the unemployment rate is down, he's planning to spend billions of dollars bribing voters.
He's just launched this new Porky Action Plan campaign...
Aimed at brainwashing Canadians with OUR money.
And of course, he was the abominable star of the recent G20 summit...
So why would he choose to quit NOW, and give his job to Jason Kenney?

The Day Thousands Took to the Streets to Defend the CBC
It was a stirring sight. And for the beleaguered CBC it couldn't have come at a better time, or be more welcome.
Thousands of people marching in streets of Montreal and other places, to demand that the Harper regime stop killing the corporation.
CBC/Radio-Canada supporters gathered in Montreal, Matane, Sept-Îles, Quebec City, Saguenay, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Rimouski, Gaspé and Moncton in New Brunswick to protest against deep cuts and job losses at the Crown corporation.
And all I can say is it's about time.
Can War Be Made to Look Too Beautiful?
It was the most stunning and beautiful tribute to those who died in the First World War I have ever seen.
A sea of ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, one for every British or Commonwealth soldier killed in that war.
But now the poppies are being uprooted.
The Christmas lights are going on.
And when Sainsbury's, a big supermarket chain, tried to mix war and Christmas, it was accused of making war look too BEAUTIFUL...
The G20 Summit and the Day of Reckoning
It's hard to believe that it's been more than four years since the G20 Summit in Toronto, and my neighbourhood became a police state.
A dark sinister place where more than a thousand people were arrested, and caged like animals.
For no good reason.
And yes, the wheels of justice grind slowly.

Joe Oliver's Dangerously Reckless Budget Scam
Well as you know, I wasn't exactly impressed by Joe Oliver's totally political fiscal update, and by the way he is recklessly blowing the surplus.
To try to buy votes and leave no money in the cupboard, so the opposition can't make their own spending promises.
While also leaving no money for a rainy day should the economy take a dive, and oil prices keep tanking.
So I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that Ol' Joe, and his equally incompetent master Stephen Harper, could be leading us to DISASTER.
Stephen Harper, Vladimir Putin, and the Great G20 Showdown
OMG. I see Stephen Harper has stolen the spotlight at the G20 summit, by going dictator to dictator, with Vladimir Putin.
Stephen Harper told Russian President Vladimir Putin flatly that he needs "to get out of Ukraine," when the two met at a Group of 20 summit of major economies in Brisbane.
Or mano a mano.
The Russian Leader stuck out his hand. Mr. Harper accepted the gesture but said to the Russian Leader: "I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you, you need to get out of Ukraine."
In a crass attempt to make the summit all about him, and the ethnic vote.

Stephen Harper and the Politics of Fear
As I've mentioned several times recently, I've never seen this country so paranoid and so fearful.
So that even a small marine police exercise in the bay the other day, had some people wondering whether the terrorists were coming.
The ones Stephen Harper would have us believe would behead us in our bedrooms.
Which helps explain why I've never seen him look so happy, and yet so deranged...
To see the Fear Factor glowing red, even on Parliament Hill.
The Day Stephen Harper Couldn't Hide Any Longer
He has always been a strange bird.
When it comes to the Great War on Terror, or any war from 1812 onwards, he's a raging chicken hawk.
He can't get enough of it, or squawk loud enough
But when it comes to the Great War on Climate Change, he has always been a clucking chicken...
But at least now Stephen Harper can't hide any longer.

Joe Oliver and the Incredible Shrinking Surplus
It was hard to imagine a scarier sight, than old Joe Oliver delivering his fiscal update to an audience of Bay Street business types the other day.
And announcing that Canadians should support the Cons, because he's blown the surplus trying to buy votes.
So they can't trust the opposition to run or ruin the economy!!!
Stephen Harper's Great Failed War on Marijuana
As you know, Stephen Harper has made The Great War on Marijuana one of his main weapons in the Great War on Justin Trudeau.
So he could accuse him of being a dangerous junkie who would make the drug more accessible to kids...
But when that attack ad didn't work, he decided to use our tax dollars to produce an anti-marijuana ad.
And get the country's doctors to endorse it...
But the doctors refused to play his game.
Because they they could see right through it, like so many other Canadians.

Stephen Harper and the Great Benito Leader
There is an old internet adage called Godwin's Law, that dictates that among other things, one can't call Stephen Harper and his Cons Nazis.
And I don't, because it also wouldn't be decent. It would diminish the deaths and the suffering of Hitler's many victims.
And of course, because it's not strictly accurate eh?
You really can't compare our bumbling Con fascists to those genocidal Nazi maniacs.
But Harper is a maniac, and he is killing our country. So I'm really glad to see that at least it's now OK to compare him to Benito Mussolini.

Stephen Harper and the Road to an Early Election
I didn't watch the ceremony at the National War Memorial, but I see that Stephen Harper made it back from China just in time to take the starring role.
So he could take advantage of this country's massive emotional upheaval.
Pose as a Great Strong Leader keeping us safe in a time of war, Canada's Churchill or our Big Daddy.
While extracting every drop of political advantage out of the situation.
And with his every action, as Duncan Cameron points out, dishonouring the very meaning of Remembrance Day.
Ezra Levant's Latest Disgraceful Bigot Eruption
Ezra Levant is without a shadow of a doubt the most disgusting person on Canadian television.
A greasy, grubby oil pimp, a far-right demagogue, a bully and a bigot.
But even by his low standards, this is absolutely outrageous.

Remembrance Day 2014: And My Promise to the Dead
It's going to be a very emotional Remembrance Day in Canada, especially at the National War Memorial.
For the reasons we all know, for the blood spilled.
And at the stroke of eleven I will stop whatever I'm doing, and remember those who gave their lives, and honour our veterans.
But for the first time ever, I won't even try to watch the always moving ceremony at the National War Memorial.
Because at this point in my life, in this broken country, I could not stand to see Stephen Harper exploit such a sacred occasion.
Stephen Harper's Great Shabby Trip to China
Well it wasn't much of a trip, not the grand photo-op he was expecting.
He never got his pandas.
And as for those two caged Canadians they're still in a Chinese jail.
China’s second-most powerful leader emerged from a meeting with Stephen Harper to say his country’s courts alone will decide what happens to two Canadians detained by Beijing on allegations of spying.
Because although Stephen Harper claimed he raised the matter of human rights in his private meetings with the Chinese dictators, nobody could prove it, and if he did they ignored him.
But still Great Leader did declare the trip a huge success, and say that he was very very pleased.

Tony Clement's Orwellian "Open Government" Plan
I suppose we should have known that anything Tony Clement proposes would be hideously flawed, so rotten is his record.
And his so-called "Open Government" plan" is no different.
The Conservative government has rejected calls to reform the Access to Information Act as part of a new openness plan. The final version of the federal blueprint on open government for 2014-16 remains silent on updating the 32-year-old law despite public pleas during several consultations — including a recent round of public feedback on a draft version.
Doing nothing to improve access to government at a time when the situation couldn't be more dire or desperate.
Stephen Harper and the Great North Pole Farce
Who can forget how Stephen Harper shocked the world a few months ago by suddenly and loudly declaring that the North Pole belonged to Canada?
Even though it actually belongs to Denmark.
But who knew the stunning proclamation also sent shockwaves through the cowed ranks of his own civil servants?
New documents suggest that Canada's last-minute decision to stretch its claim to the Arctic seabed all the way to the North Pole took federal bureaucrats just as off-guard as it did the rest of the world.
Or that this last minute Con production was such an absolute FARCE.
Harper's War and the ISIS National Anthem
I see the leader of the ISIS Death Cult may have had a bruising encounter with the American Death Machine.
Iraqi officials said Sunday that the head of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was wounded in an airstrike in western Anbar province. Pentagon officials said they had no immediate information on such an attack or on the militant leader being injured.
And one can only hope it's fatal.
But sadly killing its deranged leader won't destroy that genocidal cult.
