And it couldn't be a better difference as far as I am concerned. If I had my way empathy would would be taught in our schools on a par with writing and mathematics. For it is what makes us human, and this world can't get enough of it....Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-17633203868996855702016-03-08T07:29:28.281-05:002016-03-08T07:29:28.281-05:00hi jkrideau... I simply can't believe that the Cons and government departments would treat an American ambassador so shabbily, just to please the depraved Stephen Harper. If they were prepared to bully an ambassador from the world's most powerful country imagine what they might have done to us.
Justin Trudeau may not be perfect but he is the best Prime Minister I have ever seen, and he is repairing the image of this country faster and better than I could have ever imagined. As for Harper, I saw a tweet from Elizabeth May yesterday letting us know that the invisible man had turned up in the Commons to vote on some bill. I still find his behaviour bizarre, and I can't wait for the day he finally resigns...Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-72036821937572344112016-03-08T07:22:48.804-05:002016-03-08T07:22:48.804-05:00hi JD...thanks, I'm feeling a bit under the we...hi JD...thanks, I'm feeling a bit under the weather these days, so writing something others might enjoy reading isn't easy. But I am encouraged by Justin's sunny ways, I do feel so much better about our country, and by the time Spring arrives I should be feeling my usual self....Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-37187475648515573922016-03-08T07:20:11.775-05:002016-03-08T07:20:11.775-05:00hi TS....yes Kenney really is an ass or an asshole...hi TS....yes Kenney really is an ass or an asshole. And as I pointed out, his claim to be a good friend of the United States couldn't be more absurd. And how the Cons treated that ambassador couldn't be a better illustration of what what foul bullies they are. And when you think that they were willing to treat our neighbour's representative in that manner, what else might they have done if they had been bred-elected? And yes, thank goodness we defeated them....Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-81261719820654032402016-03-07T17:11:31.158-05:002016-03-07T17:11:31.158-05:00The difference between the Harper Government and t...The difference between the Harper Government and the Trudeau Government is called empathy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-31784306778631951052016-03-07T12:46:18.807-05:002016-03-07T12:46:18.807-05:00Interesting treatment of the ambassador of our nex...Interesting treatment of the ambassador of our next-door neighbour and largest trading partner by Harper.

It is amazing the instinct for totally wrong moves that Harper showed. Insult China, just after getting elected, close the Iranian embassy when we needed a window on the Middle East, institute a visa program for Mexico without warning and for no particularly good reason and humiliate the American ambassador.I suppose we're lucky he did not declare war on Finland.

Trudeau seems to have a decent feel for both policy and people. And making a good impression in Washington shows it.

It is a bit refreshing, to say the least. It is nice to see Kenny making a fool of himself again. Perhaps, we'll get lucky and he'll be the next Con leader?

BTW, has there been any sightings of the last but one PM since he was seen at a matinee in Ottawa a week or two ago

jrkrideauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04869979887929067657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-15461391501999921132016-03-07T10:09:18.107-05:002016-03-07T10:09:18.107-05:00Great post Simon. To read Kenney's tweets was laughable at best but will help to further propel JT's popularity. So while Jason et al pucker up over their sour grapes, JT's Washington visit will be a huge boon to Canada because to me, "it's a no-brainer" and after all, Obama wouldn't "take no for an answer".
JDAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-3702268639116212012016-03-07T08:53:55.611-05:002016-03-07T08:53:55.611-05:00Jason Kemmey is such an ass! Tax payers and non tax payers are citizens who are protected by the Charter, and our "US allies" are our neighbours and blood family relatives in many cases. So glad we kicked those yahoos out.

Great illustrations!

TSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
