I was dead set against a referendum, but the NDP went for it like a trout goes for a fly. And had a referendum been held the whole idea of electoral reform would have been buried for a generation. By putting the issue on ice Trudeau actually kept it alive, while the NDP and the Cons were the ones who would have killed it. How hard is it to understand that? How desperate is the NDP?Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-19844991902661744012017-02-22T09:27:26.535-05:002017-02-22T09:27:26.535-05:00I never thought I'd see you spouting Con talki...I never thought I'd see you spouting Con talking points about the need for a referendum on electoral reform. Trudeau won a majority running on a clear promise to make the 2015 election the last one under FPTP. Canadians expected him to follow through on that promise and no referendum was needed.

Do I need to remind you that the antiquated and unfair FPTP is what gave us a Harper majority and our neighbours to the south a Trumpov presidency?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-68307979583275944482017-02-21T10:44:24.096-05:002017-02-21T10:44:24.096-05:00did any of them state that they're going after...did any of them state that they're going after wealthy tax evaders, with convictions and jail terms imposed, not just financial penalties? Didn't their advisors tell them to keep the anti marijawana rhetoric at their previous debate closer to the Bible Belt. Where incidentally has their own huge drug problem they keep unloading on east downtown. If regulation of unwanted ingredients in pot is their concern then the dispensaries is the way to go. Why do you think rural areas selling homes on acreage first start by mentioning the large garage, outbuilding with 220 wiring. Once the 1970s hit and unemployment officially was up to 15% in the Kootenay, lots of people went into agriculture. Not in a big way, just enough to hang onto the homes and cars.
