It wasn't easy to put together, not just because I was slightly tipsy and ready to lay my head down on the keyboards. But also because I'm using a new editing program. It's a more advanced version of the one I had before, so I assumed it would be basically similar. But boy was I wrong. What would normally take me less than an hour to put together took me more than two hours, and having to read the instructions (something I never do) gave me a humungous headache. But I'm hoping to make many more in 2014, because I really do think videos are the only way to reach voters, especially younger ones. And the only way to convey the true horror of the Con regime. As for the native struggle I too feel the same way you do. But the Idle No More movement was and is a great inspiration, and sooner or later the seeds it has planted will bear fruit. No Canadian should ever settle for so much poverty and so much injustice. Happy New Year to you and Renzo !!!

P.S. I have some bad news about Jake, but I'm not ready to share it yet.Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-57651347773973679292014-01-01T22:18:32.409-05:002014-01-01T22:18:32.409-05:00hi Cathy....thank you for reading my blog, and yes...hi Cathy....thank you for reading my blog, and yes like you I'm really looking forward to seeing the light return to our land. I don't think most Canadians will ever take it for granted again, not after this nightmare. Which is a good thing. And we will rebuild it and make it even more beautiful than it was before the Cons came along. Let there be light in 2014 and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones !!! You know it's funny, I thought of you when I was writing the post. I was going to joke about if anybody said anything about a non-drinker like me getting drunk (slightly tipsy), I would say but I always get drunk on New Year's Eve, it's a Scottish tradition. Then I thought of you, and the other three teetotallers in Scotland, and decided I better not... ;)Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-3420012810376902922014-01-01T22:07:26.189-05:002014-01-01T22:07:26.189-05:00hi Omar.....I tried to make the video both sad and...hi Omar.....I tried to make the video both sad and hopeful. The sad part is how I feel about what the Cons have done to this country, and how the idealism of so many has not been able so far to halt the destruction. The hopeful part is that if we keep slugging away I'm sure we will defeat them in the end. And of course the funny part is me trudging around in the snow writing messages on the boardwalk wall. Seb will NOT be asked again which of his great photos I should run. ;)
Happy New Year Omar, may 2014 be your best year ever...Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309809679331128837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-36027519859294793732014-01-01T17:26:20.414-05:002014-01-01T17:26:20.414-05:00Yes, that was lovely. Renzo and I wish both of you - and Jake - the same.

This story made me very sad, given the increasing crisis up North in Indigenous communities and all the Inuit, Innu and Northern Cree people seeking shelter "down south" in Montréal: http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Projets+Autochtones+Québec+Culturally+safe+space/9335635/story.html Good that people are concerned about them though, and organising a culturally safe space and valuing these people. lagatta à montréalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02610410709900333230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23253782.post-25162961524122451402014-01-01T16:32:35.426-05:002014-01-01T16:32:35.426-05:00Happy New Year, Simon!
