Donald Trump and the Neo--Nazi Terrorists

Along with the religious fanatics they have always been Donald Trump's most loyal supporters.

The ones who call themselves alt-rightists or white nationalists, but I call white supremacists and Neo-Nazis.

Since their Gropenfuhrer was elected President they have become even more brazen, and don't even bother to wear masks or white hoods anymore.

So this weekend they held a "Unite the Right" tiki torch party, and of course it ended badly.

They went redneck wild, caused a white riot, and killed somebody.

The city of Charlottesville was engulfed by violence on Saturday as white nationalists and counterprotesters clashed in one of the bloodiest fights to date over the removal of Confederate monuments across the South.

The planned rally was promoted as “Unite the Right” and both its organizers and critics said they expected it to be one of the largest gatherings of white nationalists in recent times, attracting groups like the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis and movement leaders like David Duke and Richard Spencer.

And although the former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke made it clear that they are Trump's Nazis.

The bloated bigot Trump wouldn't even call them white nationalists, or condemn their sick ideology.

For obvious reasons.

President Trump is rarely reluctant to express his opinion, but he is often seized by caution when addressing the violence and vitriol of white nationalists, neo-Nazis and alt-right activists, some of whom are his supporters.

During a brief and uncomfortable address to reporters at his golf resort in Bedminster, N.J., he called for an end to the violence. But he was the only national political figure to spread blame for the “hatred, bigotry and violence” that resulted in the death of one person to “many sides.”

Mr. Trump did not single out the marchers, who included the white supremacist Richard Spencer and Mr. Duke, for their ideology.

Nor for that matter would he call them terrorists.

Even though this is a terrorist act...

Even though this is a radical right-wing terrorist suspect...

Right out of Central Casting.

Even though these are Nazis...

And even though the "alt-right" leader Richard Spencer was seen celebrating the fear his Tiki Nazis had created, claiming it would make their struggle to make America white again easier.

Before he was arrested...

And was led away screaming it was all the police's fault. WAAAAAAAAAAH!!

And the good news? This is going to do Trump double damage.

The Nazis aren't happy their Gropenfuhrer didn't give them a shout out. While some Republicans are unhappy Trump didn't call terrorism terrorism.

“Mr. President — we must call evil by its name,” tweeted Senator Cory Gardner, Republican from Colorado, who oversees the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the campaign arm of the Senate Republicans.

“These were white supremacists and this was domestic terrorism,” he added, a description several of his colleagues used.

And Trump is so unpopular he can't afford to lose any support from either group.

As for me, I will never accept the sight of Nazis marching though the streets of our cities...

When they killed so many people, and so many young soldiers sacrificed their lives to defeat them.

But what happened in Charlottesville yesterday did at least finally settle this question in my mind:

Can you punch a Nazi?

And as that sign says, the answer is of course you can.

We can and we must.

We defeated them once.

We will defeat them again.

And the Gropenfuhrer Trump will end up in the place where he belongs...

Trump's comments seem to basically give a green light to the alt-scum as he "apportions" blame over everyone. Nice to have him ignore a terrorist attack. Of course, in Trump's case it is not alway clear that he understands the situation or what he is saying so he could just be parroting Steve Bannion (sp?).

Listening to CBC Radio this morning, they seem to be toning down the car attack and partially ascribing blame to everyone. My impression, reading live reports of the mêlée, was that the alt-scum attacked the counter-demonstrators at a statue of Thomas Jefferson (somewhat dubious hero, himself) and later there was the terrorist attack with the car.

I, certainly, do not see any great difference between Charlottesville and the attack in Nice or the recent attack on French soldiers in a Paris suburb. Oh wait, it was a white American driving the car in Charlottesville.

And what about our very own Nazis? When will people finally find out about Andrew Scheer's ties to the white supremacist Rebel? Faith Goldy was livestreaming and whinging about "intolerant left" when that Nazi terrorist ran over those innocent people.

OT, but speaking of wearing hoods, my mother was American lived for years in Detroit. She had this snapshot of the KKK marching in Detroit. No context or anything, just picture of perhaps 10--12 KKK members, taken at perhaps 50 feet.

She must have been standing on the sidewalk with her trusty Kodak as they marched by. It really was a banal photo.

It happens. Drunken American making a Nazi salute which is illegal in Germany. What could go wrong.

I saw a report in China News that two Chinese citizens were arrested in Germany for making Nazi salutes. They were fined about €400 each and told to go home.

Apparently any number of Chinese were laughing at them.

Might be time for those of us with YouTube accounts to just flag every single Rebel video for hate. Let them start their own video network that goes nowhere or just fade away for the benefit of society. Eventually, Google will have to get the message. Levant and his lackeys have no automatic right to require that YouTube host their crap. He's losing money thanks to the Sleeping Giants campaign prompting his advertisers to pull out, so he continues charging the rubes for Rebel's Sea Org cruises. But even that won't keep them "afloat" for long.

An interesting YT channel that I discovered is one with the pithy title of "Justin Trudeau Derangement Syndrome." In other words, all the Deplorebels who migrate over from Ezra's cult and the other stupid alt-right channels to make troll comments about the prime minister have a delusional disorder, just like Obama Derangement Syndrome, Hillary Derangement Syndrome, etc. I had the misfortune of trying to talk sense into one of them, who thinks Trudeau "sabotaged" Trump's plans for North Korea by sending an envoy to give his fellow commie a head's up. One of the worst threads on the channel is a video clipped from a CTV W5 special where Justin reflects somberly on the death of his brother Michel. Over and over again you see "the wrong Trudeau died," "he was in on it," "it's like Cain and Abel, he killed his brother so he could become PM," "too bad they didn't all die," etc. And you go over to Rebel channel and see some of the same people with the same avatars bashing Trudeau in their comment section too.

The solution, apparently, is not to engage with them directly (they can't be convinced of reality), but to just click the flag as offensive button until they get kicked out. If Google won't clean up their superfund site voluntarily, then it's up to us to put the pressure on. Also Twitter needs to boot them, Facebook etc. I don't know what to do about your Canadian media not reporting on the unholy pact between Scheer and Rebel other than pressure them too with social media and letter-writing campaigns. Send emails and online messages to reporters at CBC and CTV. Write to your MPs and to the PM himself to make Scheer answer publicly in Parliament about his affiliation with the atrocious blog that is Breitbart North. Hate doesn't deserve a megaphone, and Ezra fuddle-duddling Levant better damn well not become the Steve Bannon of Canada.

Anon 9:39a below brought up Rebel Media. A similar scuffle to what happened at the Jefferson statue (albeit without the car) occurred when Levant lackey Gavin McInnes dispatched members of his newly formed hipster Nazi bro cult to harass First Nations protesters in Halifax. Fortunately, nothing of the scale that occurred in Virginia yesterday happened during that event, but it likely could have, given the fact that the hipster Nazis were young, strapping military recruits (who are likely to now be dishonorably discharged, if they haven't been already) on a determined mission to make the First Nations kids "shut the &$%! up and get the &$%! out, because this is white country now."

There'll be a fistfight if not a shooting outbreak over a statue of Lord Halifax at some point, or John MacDonald (there were already threats made to Trudeau for putting Viola Desmond on the CAD$20), or a memorial to the Polytéchnique victims, or a Pride flag being raised over Parliament Hill... Don't for a minute think that change will come peacefully to Canada, or that it won't be outright forestalled by someone with a personal interest in maintaining the status quo terrorizing those who've borne the brunt of it and have had enough.

They don't care about consequences, because every punitive measure reads like martyrdom to them, and just further feeds the narrative that "the system is rigged against whites," "the government is compromised," "Trudeau is a shill and a 'cuck' who "... We've seen this before. Eventually, as Martin Niemöller so eloquently pointed out, it always ends up being a sort of Nazi version of Scooby-Doo, with the "shills" being "unmasked" and a "aha! It was the Jews all along! And they would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us meddling 'patriots'!" Then Heil Fives all around.

They really are no different from ISIS. And it's about time that they be treated the same, with the propaganda feed regarded as exactly what it is, just a more "professional" and "socially acceptable" or "mainstream" form of it. I'm at a point where I see no difference between Dabiq and National Review.

Considering what happened when the wannabe FLQ punk, who'd been further radicalized by Trump's rhetoric, took it upon himself to go on a Charles Martel crusade of his own against innocent Muslims after Trudeau bravely (and sort of subliminally) short-circuited Trump's travel-ban bravado with his tweet about welcoming refugees, clearly violence has not been ruled out as part of their endgame.

Knowing what I know from American history and what I saw for 8 years with Obama, I actually fear for your PM. He really seems to like being out there among the regular people, and feels suffocated by necessary security measures. He still gets frustrated and forgets that he can't get out of the transport vehicle on his own, as he told the Rolling Stone reporter. I don't think he realizes, or wants to admit to himself, the level of simmering hate that exists in Canada too, or how much of it is fueled by the burgeoning Fourth Reich below the 49th Parallel. There's a definite imbalance in the Force. Orange is the new white (or the same old white with Cheetos stains), but it's also the new Dark Side.

American white "evangelical" Christians such as VP Mike Pence often gets bashed on this blog for being "fanatics", but keep in mind not all Christians are fanatics or racists:

#Charlottesville, the Christian Response and Your Church's Call
http://www.christianitytoday.com/edstetzer/2017/august/charlottesville-christ-and-your-church-how-pastors-might-re.html

[snip]

So, as a white evangelical part of a demographic category who disproportionally supported President Trump let me start by saying this movement is antithetical to the gospel. It is an abomination to all that we stand for and it must be condemned on every level of leadership in the Church. There is no room for waffling. We cannot sit in silence hoping this will pass. As I’ve written before there can be no question about where a denomination or Christians in general stand on this more polished form of racism.

Time for All Christians to Denounce White Supremacy
http://www.thedailybeast.com/will-christian-leaders-continue-to-tremble-before-right-wing-hate

What would it mean for evangelical Christian leaders to speak out in the age of Trump? It means consistently leveraging public platforms and private leadership to define what is right and wrong. In the case of what we just saw in Charlottesville, it means sermon series on the dangers of white supremacy, the reality of privilege, and the importance of empathy for those who do not look like you. It means using podcasts and books and voices to lift up morality and condemn immorality, whether that immortality is found in the streets of Charlottesville or the Oval Office of the White House. It even means admitting with humility that they don't know what to do, but know they should do something, and then showing an openness to take action.

GOV. TERRY MCAULIFFE (D), VIRGINIA:.… And I have a message to all the white supremacists and the Nazis who came in to Charlottesville today. Our message is plain and simple. Go home. You are not wanted in this great commonwealth. Shame on you. You pretend that you're patriots but you are anything but a patriot….

[snip]

MCMULLIN: We -- what we just saw, what we just saw is the kind of leadership that America has been waiting for, for the last six or seven months, and I got to tell you, it was refreshing to hear it. We should hear more of it from Washington, D.C.

Now I've got to tell you another thing about this situation. I spent time in Republican politics, and with Republican leaders and Republican leaders tend not to speak out against racism in America, unless it's some disastrous situation like this, and then they come out. Not all of them. Some of them are good. Some of them do more than others but most of them don't say anything unless it's absolutely obvious like today. The reason for that --

BAUER: Evan, you tried to derail the Republican --

MCMULLIN: No, I'm going to finish. No, I'm going to finish, sir. CABRERA: Hold on, Andre, let him finish.

MCMULLIN: The reason why they don't do that and I know because I've been a part of it, I've seen it myself, is that there's a taboo within the Republican Party about attacking racism in America, and I know that that's the case because when you do it as a conservative, you get attacked by elements within the party, and that's where we are, and not all Republicans of course are racists.

I was raised by Republicans who are not at all and who welcome Americans of all backgrounds and are not at all like this, but there is an element of the Republican base that is racist, and our leaders are afraid to stand up to them because, if they do so, they'll be criticized, and they'll potentially lose votes. And so they don't do it, but that's not public service. That's self-service, and we need leaders especially on the Republican and conservative side these days who will serve the country and serving the country means standing up to these bigots.

This country is built on equality and liberty and we need all of our leaders regardless of party to stand up for those truths.

JOY-ANN REID:

Can I say? And I think Helene made a very important point. Because I think that both-sidesism doesn't serve anyone well. This is an unambiguous evil that is plaguing the country. But Helene made, I think, the crucial point. One of the reasons that Donald Trump cannot properly respond to what was an obvious proper response from an America president is the people in his government. Who's writing the talking points that he was looking down and reading from?

He has people like Stephen Miller, claimed as a mentee by Richard Spencer, who is an avowed, open white nationalist. He has Steve Bannon, who's been allowed to meld into the normalcy of a governmental employee, but who ran breitbart.com, which I reread today the post that's still on their website where they self-describe as the home of the alt-right. What is the alt-right? It's a dressed-up term for white nationalism. They call themselves white identitarianism. They say that the tribalism that's inherent in the human spirit ought to be also applied to white people.

What is who is in his government. Sebastian Gorka, who wore the medal of Vitezi Rend, a Nazi organization, being paid by the taxpayer in the government of Donald Trump. The former Publius Decius blogger, Michael Anton, in the government. He is surrounded by these people. It isn't both sides. They're in the White House with him.

RICH LOWRY:

Look, you have so-called anti-fascists who dress in black, wear masks.

JOY-ANN REID:

Were they beating clergy yesterday?

RICH LOWRY:

There was violence on both sides.

JOY-ANN REID:

There was certainly not.

RICH LOWRY:

Yes, there was.

JOY-ANN REID:

Were they attacking clergy?

RICH LOWRY:

You didn't see the video?

JOY-ANN REID:

I spoke with clergy who were being beaten with brass knuckles by neo-Nazis.

RICH LOWRY:

Anti-fascists also beat people up, break things, and burn things. They both should be condemned. And look, I want the alt-right to be as limited as possible. I want it to go away and die. But you're not doing folks on my side any favors by defining it so widely that it includes Stephen Miller and Mike Anton. That's what they want. You're helping them by defining them so widely.

JOY-ANN REID:

Have you read what they've read [sic]? Have you read the blog post that they've posted?

RICH LOWRY:

I don't think Mike Anton is a white nationalist. That's crazy.

In keeping with the punch a Nazi theme, here is the most amazing video clip of Unite the Right rally organizer Jason Kessler being chased from the steps of city hall by the crowd.

https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/896820888930332672?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailykos.com%2Fstory%2F2017%2F8%2F13%2F1689252%2F-Today

Nazi boy was punched a couple of times and when he attempted to flee through the gardens was tackled by a woman. If the cops hadn't intervened and escorted him away the crowd would have torn him apart. Yikes!

To make sense of the whole incident see: Today Hatemonger Faces the Crowd at DailyKos.com

There are many videos in that diary showing different aspects of the gathering, the chase etc.

RICH LOWRY:

I don't think Mike Anton is a white nationalist. That's crazy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Anton
His pseudonymous September 2016 editorial "The Flight 93 Election" compared the prospect of conservatives letting Hillary Clinton win with passengers not charging the cockpit of the Al Qaeda-hijacked flight. According to commentator Jonathan Chait, Anton's editorial made the claim that a Trump defeat in the 2016 U.S. presidential election would have meant the end of "white America" and "conservative America".[16]

Government by White Nationalism Is Upon Us
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2017/02/government_by_white_nationalism_is_upon_us.html

This nationalism, white nationalism, was the ideology of Anton’s essay driven by contempt for immigrants and foreigners of all stripes.

http://www.salon.com/2017/02/14/donald-trumps-white-nationalist-genius-bar-steve-bannon-stephen-miller-michael-decius-anton-and-beyond/

Michael Anton, a former George W. Bush speechwriter, is the newest addition to Trump’s white nationalist brain trust. Now a policy aide at the National Security Council, Anton is best known under his nom de plume, Publius Decius Mus, for writing the pro-Trump manifesto “The Flight 93 Election.”

Before that article went viral, Anton published an earlier essay called “Toward a Sensible, Coherent Trumpism.” In it, he defended the anti-Semitic America First movement of the pre-World War II years, with an obvious eye toward Trump’s repurposing of the phrase.

"Michael Anton, a former George W. Bush speechwriter, is the newest addition to Trump’s white nationalist brain trust."

People who want to "rehabilitate" the Bush crime family for not being "as bad" as Trump need to consider this Anton guy as an example of guilt by association. The Reagan De-Evolution that CIA Pappy was part of, and his idiot son drove into the ground with help from his complicit brother in Florida, is why we're in the mess we're in today with Trump.

The GOP itself is a white-supremacist terrorist hate group that needs to be dismantled and shut down.

If Christ existed, he was an olive-skinned Palestinian refugee and probably a socialist. He stopped a mob from slut-shaming a woman to death. He kicked money-lenders out of the temple. He provided comfort to the sick, the poor, and foreigners from all lands. He probably wouldn't have had any issue playing bartender at a gay wedding either. Open bar with bottomless "water."

The GOP's religion is Mammonism under the banner of the swastika. Asking the GOP to embrace the Christianity of Christ rather than megachurch grifters, Westboro Baptist, and the profitable war machine of the military-industrial complex (which includes the hypocritical imperial ethnonationalists in Israel) is blasphemy to their entire world view. Rejecting Reaganomics and the Southern Strategy is the modern day equivalent to Galileo's heresy of heliocentricism. Saints preserve us... it's the religion of Jimmy Carter!

hi jrkrideau....I can only imagine how Trump would have reacted if a progressive, or heaven forbid a Muslim, had driven a car into a crowd of his own supporters. He would have been in a frigging frenzy, seizing every opportunity to denounce our side, or "radical Islamic terrorism." So his muted response speaks volumes. But on the bright side, the fact that he needs those Nazis so much he daren't criticize them, tells us that his support is dangerously weak and in danger of collapsing...

hi anon 6:35 pm...thank you for that excellent comment. I am aware of Gavin McInnes and his so-called "Proud Boys," and you're right to say that what is happening in the U.S. could happen here. The conservative movement in Canada is being heavily influenced by Trump and its never seemed so alien or so disgusting. That people like Levant enjoy even a modest following should be a warning to us all. The Neo-Nazis in this country are getting away with murder, and it's time to bring down the hammer on all of them. Too many progressives are guilty of bringing a spoon to a knife fight, but I'm not one of them...

I'm a pretty quiet and shy person, but I do have a rather explosive temper, and as I said in my post I will never accept the sight of bigots and fascists parading past me in the streets. The least we can do for those who died fighting them is make sure they keep their filthy ideology to themselves...

hi p2p...thanks for that. I don't like to talk about punching anyone, I got into too many fights when I was younger. Every summer I spend a day tending to the graves of Canadians whose planes crashed in the Scottish highlands. And I honestly could not face them if we had Nazis parading all over Canada. As far as I'm concerned anyone parading around like a Nazi should be arrested immediately...
