Stephen Harper: The Monster and the Madness

His massive propaganda machine has been working overtime to try to soften his image, but it's just not working.

Not when he is now in one of his wild rages, not when the monster is aroused, not when his evil madness is out of control.

For there he was today going after Beverley McLachlin like a rabid beast.

At an event in London, Ont., Harper suggested his government took the high road while the chief justice overstepped proper bounds when she sought to flag the issue of eligibility of a Federal Court judge for a Quebec seat on the Supreme Court.

Harper said he refused a telephone call from McLachlin suggesting it was akin to a minister inappropriately calling a judge over a case before the courts.

Harper likened it to a call that would have seen a minister fired for doing what she did.

Even though there was no court case. Nadon wasn't appointed until three months later. McLachlin had both a right and a duty to communicate with the government.

In a statement, McLachlin said: “Given the potential impact on the court, I wished to ensure that the government was aware of the eligibility issue. At no time did I express any opinion as to the merits of the eligibility issue. It is customary for chief justices to be consulted during the appointment process and there is nothing inappropriate in raising a potential issue affecting a future appointment.”

And the whole thing is just a disgusting attempt to bully and smear yet another decent Canadian, for daring to defy his sinister regime.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is notorious for attacking any and all who presume to challenge his agenda. Canada’s chief electoral officer has felt the sting of his wrath. So have the auditor-general, the parliamentary budget officer, the nuclear safety watchdog, the military police watchdog and too many others to mention.

Now it’s Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin’s turn. Harper wants Canadians to believe that he had to rebuff an improper lobbying bid by McLachlin to block a Supreme Court appointment. It’s an astonishing, unprecedented claim that casts a shadow over the highest court in the land, and the government hasn’t advanced a shred of evidence to support it. It is spite, pure and simple, and the public should be disgusted by it.

But of course it's more than disgusting, or repugnant as Greg Weston called it on Power and Politics today, it's DANGEROUS...

Because nobody seems to be asking why Stephen Harper is doing this? Why would he attack the Supreme Court when he must know that it is far more popular and trusted than he is? And he has nothing to win, and everything to lose.

Especially at a time when his handlers are desperately trying to soften his image.

And the scary answer, the one I've been trying to warn people about for years, the one the MSM still can't wrap its dumb head around, is that he simply can't help himself.

For when I saw him today at that photo-op, clenching his teeth, practically quivering with repressed rage at the thought that a judge, and a woman, had dared defy him.

A murderous look in his cold dead eyes...

I was reminded of something the Canadian writer R.K. Finch wrote about him six years ago:

When I recently re-read the definition of the term, "malignant narcissism", I felt like I was sitting in the gallery of the House of Commons, watching Harper tell outrageous lies about his opponents (like how they support the Taliban or their family is a terrorist) under the libel protection afforded to him in the House, makeup running in its customary stream down the right side of his face, eyes flashing in that rare emotional occurrence mentioned above, lips pulled back against his teeth in an expression that more resembles a rabid dog about to attack than an actual, human smile...

Or something Harper's old mentor Tom Flanagan told Wendy Mesley today...

For the warning signs have always been there, it's just that far too many Canadians were too blind to see them, or deluded themselves into believing it couldn't happen here.

But of course it did happen here. He was always a ticking time bomb. He was always going to be to our democracy and our values what syphilis is to the human body. And now that he's never been so desperate, he's never been so dangerous.

And all I can say is I think it's time that our progressive parties stopped focusing exclusively on his evil policies, for they are mere symptoms of the disease.

And start shining a light on the monster himself...

And his inner demons.

For if we can make Canadians understand that there is something terribly wrong with Stephen Harper. And make them fear what he might do next.

Even the dumbest will recognize the danger, or wake up screaming.

And it will help defeat him, as he must be defeated.

Before his evil madness destroys this country...

If Harper thinks he'll get any support(other than the idiots at Sun News)over this then he is delusional and ready for the straightjacket. I think it's great though that Canadians once again get to see him at his most vindictive, repulsive best. I'm still laughing at the quote "on the advice of Peter MacKay". That's comparable to "after consulting with the Ikea monkey I determined that ee ee oo oo aa aa..."

An evil, petty bully unworthy of the office he currently occupies, his jeers and defensive ramblings were horrid yesterday. This guy has no leadership qualities whatsoever, he's uninspiring, does not follow the values he supposedly has and most astonishing of all, he seems to spin every single issue to be about him. He gets away time and again with worthless spin, rhetoric and posturing, but no substance to anything he says. Thanks for keeping on him Simon, highlighting his every incompetent, bullying, blustering sociopathic ramblings. We should start a counter to the day we hopefully will never hear from him again and he has his cushy private sector appointment, hopefully overseas with Gordon Muir Campbell.

Interesting interview clip.

Wendy: Is it [Harper's behaviour] strategic or is he just mad?
Tom: I fear the latter.

Tom, with a little help from his Igor (yes, I'm looking at you Preston) is now chasing the monster he created northward in an attempt to destroy it.

But I fear the Madness of King Steve will continue until he is forcibly subdued.

All dictators have very similar personalities. Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini were all paranoid, evil dictators and control freaks. All of them had their fanatic degenerates, to do their dirty work for them. All dictators need the criminal element of whom, will follow their dictators to hell. Harper's team and followers are, all of Harper's Borg. Some of Harper's degenerates are in prison, others are on their way to prison.

If you can imagine? Nigel Wright only did, aid, abet, cover-up and pay the debt for a Senator, who was stealing our tax dollars. After all, the PMO only sanitized Senator's expense claims. Harper and his henchmen are protected by, the Royal Conservative Mounted Police.

Then Harper and his cabal, tried to discredit Sheila Fraser. Now Harper and his henchmen, are attacking the Chief Justice.

Ex BC Liberal Premier Gordon Campbell, is Harper's favorite henchman. Harper rewarded Campbell the post as, High Commissioner to the U.K. Campbell did a lot of dirty work for Harper. One is just as evil as the other. Christy Clark is no better, another Campbell wearing a skirt. All of them lied and cheated to win their elections. All of them are paranoid sociopaths.

The Conservatives don't care. They can count on 40% of Canadians voting for them and that's enough to hold power. They will do what they want until that 40% changes their votes for another party; I'm not optimistic of that happening soon.

Actually only 24% of eligible voters voted for him.

hi anon...yes I also believe that Harper is making a big mistake if he believes most Canadians will side with him in this obscene assault on the Supreme Court. Polls show the court is far more admired and trusted than he is, and if he continues his grotesque jihad he will pay a heavy price...

hi bcwaterboy...yes he is a hideous bully isn't he? I thought he had hit rock bottom when he tried to smear Sheila Fraser, but no such luck. As you know waterboy the main reason I despise the man is because he is such cowardly bully. And like you I can't wait for the day he is gone...

hi anon...I must say I did enjoy Strangelove Flanagan's clip. " I fear the latter." I'm going to have to include that exchange in one or six or my own videos. And thanks for the clip of The Madness of King George. I've never seen that movie, but it does look very entertaining, and it couldn't be more timely... :)

hi anon...I have to admit that the very idea of Stephen Harper and his depraved gang trying to smear decent Canadians like Sheila Fraser and Beverley McLachlin leaves me in the unusual condition of not knowing whether to laugh or vomit. They really do have a nerve, but they badly need a mirror....

Simon said...

hi anon...you're right, they only need to add about ten points to their base of around thirty percent to win an election. However, they have remained stuck at that thirty percent mark for a long time, so getting that extra ten percent may be harder than it has been in the past. And remember there are still some juicy scandals to come. I'm still trying to figure out how I can attend all their upcoming trials without having to claim paternity leave or something, which might be difficult.... ;)

You are assuming there will be elections and that he will not cheat even more. And C-23 is not dead either, plus who knows what else he can invent?

Who needs elections? We are just worms to them.

I enjoy reading articles like this that deconstruct the myth that is Stephen Harper, "the stable, intellectual economist, politician and diplomat." However, I do not believe that he is the cause of the policies. He is the front man for this neoliberal movement. He is mad. No question about that. I say, thank goodness for that because I think it exposes the sort of madness that is propelling this movement. But when Harper is out, another front man will simply step in to fill his show and keep the movement going. I feel it is dangerous to insinuate that the root of the problem of the CPC and this movement is Stephen Harper only.

If most Canadians watched even the first 10 minutes of Question Period (either online, or on the CPAC channel),
the Cons would lose the next election by a landslide.

I would like to pass on an article that I think explains quite a bit about where these madmen are coming from.

It seems that Harper is out to destroy Canada before he leaves office. He truly is a Mad Man, obviously backed by the illuminati. This pitiful excuse for a man is totally evil. He says and does whatever he wants as long as it serves his purpose, with no regard for anyone. As long as Canadians that are overseas, where they are not affected by what's going on in Canada and are allowed to vote for this bully, we'll continue to have this Evil Man in power. Wake up Canada, before it's too late. This evil incarnate will destroy Canada and retire to another country. WAKE UP!!! and pay attention to what's going on around you.

Wake Up Canada. Why is Harper passing all these bills, obviously he wants to destroy Canada before he retires to another country. He is truly a MAD MAN. He does whatever he wants with no regard for Canadians'
futures. Everything is about him and what he wants. He will continue to be in power as long as we let Canadians living overseas vote for him. If Canada is not good enough for you to live in you should not be allowed to have a say about our government. He attacks anyone who dares oppose his views. He really believes he is God and everyone should bow down to him. Obviously he is being backed by the illuminati, he just has that look. Please, Canadians open your eyes and see what is directly in front of you, before it's too late. I know Canada is a beautiful country but it won't stay that way with him in power. When it comes time to vote we can all make a stand, please vote this mad man out of power.
