Stephen Harper and the Burning Hypocrisy of the Cons

It must have been a frightening apparition in New York City today. Like a scary blimp in the Macy's parade eh?

Stephen Harper as Great Mother Leader, posing as a friend of women and children, while floating on a cloud of toxic hypocrisy.

Canada will contribute $203 million as part of an ongoing global commitment to improve the health of women, newborns and young children in poor and developing countries, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced Wednesday at the United Nations.

Calling the high mortality rate of mothers and young children "one of the world's great tragedies." After having made sure that not ONE dollar of all those millions will be spent to provide safe abortions, just to satisfy his rabid religious base.

Even though for many poor families with too many mouths to feed, a safe abortion, or emergency birth control, can mean the difference between survival and starvation.

While at the same time refusing to sign a treaty to control the global arms trade.

The Harper government faced sharp criticism Wednesday for its continued refusal to sign a landmark treaty to regulate the global arms trade. A group of non-governmental agencies, called the Control Arms Coalition, said it was frustrated and disappointed that the government did not follow the United States and more than 90 other countries in signing the Arms Trade Treaty.

To pleasure the crazies in the gun lobby.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has said there is a potential link between signing on to the treaty and Canada's now-abolished long gun registry. Baird's spokesman said earlier this week that the government is still doing consultations on whether the treaty would affect lawful recreational firearms owners in Canada.

Even though the treaty could save the lives of millions around the world, including those of women and children:

Robert Fox, executive director of Oxfam Canada, urged the government to sign the treaty without delay. "Every day, conventional arms are used to commit serious acts of violence against women and girls, including rape," Fox said in a statement.

"We are deeply disappointed that Canada has not signed the treaty as this undermines our ability to champion women's rights, peace and security."

And all this on a day when we learned of the tragic death of yet another Canadian teenager.

A North Battleford, Sask., mother says her teenage son took his life after years of being tormented by bullies. His mother said that the attacks by playground bullies began years ago and alleges the abuse escalated into "non-stop" cyberbullying.

Bullied to death, like so many others, in a country where Stephen Harper and his foul Con regime have done NOTHING to fight the problem. Because his rabid religious base is against anything that could be used to protect LGBT kids.

And Harper will do ANYTHING to please them. The great friend of children. The shameless Con artist, the heartless bastard.

Oh boy. The hypocrisy burns. But at least we know that he's DESPERATE.

And we know from previous experience that this latest crass attempt to soften his image won't work. Because Great Mother Leader may soar through the air in a cloud of his own fumes.

But he always returns to the place where he came from...

Because he just can't help himself eh?

And what we also know is that those who spin a tangled web.

And pretend to be who they are not.

Usually trip themselves up. Are eventually exposed as FRAUDS.

And end up where they belong...

Or exactly where we want them.

Yup. The hypocrisy and the evil will be revealed. We'll make sure of that eh?

The monster will be defeated.

And the bullies will be beaten...

How can they possibly have a maternal health program without including birth control and abortion?
