Dean del Mastro's PG-Rated Committee Hearing

Mama Mia. I see Dean Del Mastro wants to grill the creator of Vikileaks before a Commons committee.

"This is just the latest in a long history of shady Liberal practices that harm our democracy," Del Maestro said. "These nasty, dirty Internet tricks were deeply personal and fall short of the standard of behaviour that Canadians have come to expect," he said.

Gawd. I guess all that talk about Pierre Poutine must have made him hungry eh?

But is this a wise move for the shady Cons? Or just another attempt to harm our democracy, by conducting this kangaroo piggy porco hearing before the wrong committee?

And can't they see what might happen? Since Adam Carroll did nothing illegal, just published what was in the public domain. Won't he be forced to defend himself by reading the details of the whole messy divorce into the Parliamentary record?

Or ask Vic Toews to appear so he can ask him whether anything he published wasn't true?

Ask him whether he still believes that gay marriage will lead to polygamy?

Or ask him why as Public Safety Minister is he using his Twitter account to threaten Justin Trudeau?

And why is he trying to invade OUR privacy with his internet snooping bill? Shame on him. Resign !!! Resign !!!

Gosh. Maybe the Cons really think they can fool Canadians into thinking that embarrassing a horny old hypocrite is the same as trying to steal an election.

But good luck with that one.

The robo-call affair involves allegations of electoral fraud. If, as suggested by Liberals and New Democrats, Stephen Harper’s Conservatives deliberately misrepresented themselves to voters before last May’s election, it is a serious police matter.

The Vikileaks affair, in which a Liberal staffer released on the Internet publicly available details of Public Safety Minister Vic Toews’ messy divorce, was at worst in bad taste.

At best, it was an example of brilliant — if nasty — guerrilla theatre.

As for me, I REALLY don't want to know more about the details of Vic Toews' sordid private life, or his blatant hypocrisy.

So who can blame me for thinking that Del Monstro's Commons committee is going to be the first one that will require a PG-rating?

And that the Cons are just DESPERATE...

The Harper gang are hoping that the media just runs with the meme that all parties play dirty tricks. And many of the usual boot-licking Conservative lackeys are repeating the tit for tat of dirty tricks and smears as ordered.

The worst part is that Harper would rather Canadians walk away from this in disgust with all parties, than try to clear his name. Because the more disenchanted we are with the political system, the more likely we will not vote or fight against each and every outrageous move made by them.

The Conservatives need to prove that they are not responsible for Electoral Fraud. Keep the bastards on the hot seat.

hi Beijing... I totally agree with you. This is clearly part of their strategy:

The worst part is that Harper would rather Canadians walk away from this in disgust with all parties, than try to clear his name. Because the more disenchanted we are with the political system, the more likely we will not vote or fight against each and every outrageous move made by them.

It's just another way of turning off voters, another voter suppression scheme. Make it appear that all politicians are the same, so why bother casting a ballot. Unless you are summoned by the mighty war machine.
We must keep the bastards on the hot seat, or they really will destroy this country...
