Stephen Harper and the Tainted Food Scandal

I see that one day after the Canadian Medical Association Journal fingered Stephen Harper's Cons for lowering food inspection standards, and making Canadians less safe.

"The current government's policies have contributed to the unravelling of public health safeguards, with the move to self-inspection by industry and the lack of an independent public health officer...."

Great Tainted Leader has struck back in his usual ugly way by attacking the doctors.

As he defended his government’s record on food and product safety, Harper also dismissed criticism in an editorial of the Canadian Medical Association Journal, of his government’s approach to food inspection in the listeriosis crisis.

He said it was one author who said it, not the position of the medical association. “This author is in our opinion not someone who is credible.”

Can you believe that? What an absolute thug. But you know what goes around comes around. When Canadians see Harper's bullies adding doctors to their long list of enemies. They know that they can't trust Harper not to destroy Medicare.

When they see him slashing at our culture because he hates Canada so much.

Remember?

"Canada is a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it.... In terms of the unemployed... don't feel particularly bad for many of these people. They don't feel bad about it themselves, as long as they're receiving generous social assistance and unemployment insurance."

- Stephen Harper speech to the US Council for National Policy

They know they can't trust Harper not to destroy the social fabric that makes our country great, and turn Canada into a sinister neocon jungle.

And will hopefully strike back..... just like the artists are doing....

Or just stand up for the country they love.

Tell these RepubliCons ....who would put their foul alien ideology before the lives of Canadians.... to take a hike.

And vote for a RECALL.

Because it can't come soon enough....

The author is "not credible"? What, you mean half the editorial board of the CMAJ? 'Cause that's who the editorial is attributed to.

An outbreak, which has killed 17 people and this is the compassion and professionalism that the CONServatives provide ....

"This is like a death by a thousand cuts. Or should I say cold cuts."
- CONServative Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, during a conference call with scientists and staff expressing more concern for electoral fallout.

"Please tell me it's Wayne Easter."
- CONServative Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz after being told of another death in Prince Edward Island. Wayne Easter is Liberal MP.

This is the type of people Harper appointed to Cabinet.

This is the tone Harper allows his candidates and party set.

And Harper thinks he is a leader.

Time a new sweater and another breakfast.

A real leader would immediately remove Ritz from cabinet and withdraw his candidacy.

A sensible person would immediately submitt his/her resignation from cabinet and withdraw from election.

17 people have died.
More people could become sick and/or die.
Hundreds of lives affected by family/friends becoming sick or deying.

Hi Jennifer ...yes indeed. I should have mentioned the team. I actually looked up the very impressive bio of the Editor-in Chief and contrasted the way he has helped people with the way Stephen Harper attacks them. But I cut it for time. Damn. ;)

Hi ty...I think that the Ritz comment and the way Harper dismissed them shows what kind of people they are. But of course the most important thing are the Con plans to take federal inspectors off the line. The first offends us...the other could KILL us... :)
